don't waste your time or money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. management atwheatfieldsis a joke. no customer service what-so-ever. one of our party members ordered a sangria, she was served a mimmosa. after taking a sip, she asked the server to take the drink as it is not to her liking. when the bill arrived, she was surprised that the mimmosa was still on her tab. she asked the server to have it removed, for which she refused. the manager came over and also refused as it is against their policy to do so. you ordered it, therefore you pay for it. problem is, she ordered a sangria, not a mimmosa, but somehow, that's our fault and we got blamed for taking advantage of the server who doesn't speak or understand english very well. the owner, ron popp, then came out and threatened to call the cops on us for not paying the bill! wow, serious? i stated " it's obvious all you care about is the money in your pocket and not satisfied customers, for which ron flat out agreed and said, "yes, you ordered it, therefore you pay for it, or we will call the cops." are you fricking kidding me? they forced our friend to pay for her drink, for which she didn't order, nor did she drink, accused us of a race card against the server and said, it's people like us that give bad reviews!!! gee i wonder why. amongst name calling and threats, these people are superb at running a business. if you want poor service, to pay for food or drinks you don't like or your server rings in incorrectly and get called names, be accused of being a racist and have the cops called on you then hurry up, go out and support wheatfields, they are the best damn restaurant around!

horrible experience. i and my family had a horrible experience atwheatfieldson 1224 south 103rd st.
omaha,ne today. even with reservations placed 3 weeks ago, we waited 2 hours to
get seated, because of management screw ups.

i calledwheatfieldson april 16th to make reservations for may 8th at 11:00 for
a party of 12. we arrived early, around 10:45, on may 8th, checked in with the
young lady working the desk that day, at which time she said it would be a short
wait. yes, they were extremely business and after checking a a second time and
being told the same thing "people are done eating but will not get up to leave,
and we would have to wait" we waited. finally, at 12:30 i requested to speak to
the manager, luis, who was busy cleaning off tables came over to find out what
the problem was. it seems that dave-a white haired man, and the young lady
working were seating groups of people who did not have reservations or had
called that morning. they had also allowed a party of 10 walk in and seat
themselves at a table that had been cleared for someone who had made a
reservation. luis, explained to these two employee's that one side of the book
was for those who had reservations and the other was for those who called that
day or just stopped in. they did not get it!!! luis finally was able to move
some tables around and together so that we could be seated. during this time,
while i was standing at the desk, there was another group of 8 who were in the
same situation as my group, and a group of 10 who decided to go somewhere else.
the food was fine and our waitress did the best she could under the busy
situation, however not one person in my party of 12 will ever spend another time
at a wheatfields. maybe you need to revisit your reservation policy, and make
sure that everyone understands what they are. if you policy is not to take
reservations then that should be told to people who are calling ahead of time to
get the reservation.

poor management will indeed dry up your wheatfields.

i absolutely must commendwheatfieldsfor their dedication to providing gluten free options, i’ve been dining there for years and the selection just keeps growing! they’ve gone out of their way to include gluten free pastries and even cakes, yes cake – the very best cake!

wheat fields is a great place to go with a group if people. their menu is huge so everyone should be able to find something they like. my personal favorite is the ron’s honey fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy l. everything about the meal is fantastic. the chicken has a little bit of sweet to it. i don’t like to eat mashed potatoes at restaurants usually because they just can’t seem to get them right. this place is the exception. the potatoes are great and the garvey is heavenly. also, a noteworthy side are their scalloped potatoes which have a yummy creamy white sauce.

in addition to being a restaurant, wheatfieldssells their bakery items. we have often purchased these for family celebrations. the strawberry wedding cake is a well known favorite by many people i know. i also enjoy a number of their pies and their chocolate sour cream cake.

i don't understand whywheatfieldshas such a following. my first visit here i ordered quiche and the serving was huge however, it apparently was microwaved leaving the crust soggy. i tried another time and ordered a sandwich which was just ok.

one like, one dislike. this was our first time going towheatfieldsand we went specifically for dessert. my husband had a piece of the strawberry wedding cake and it was fantastic! i had a piece of the mom's chocolate sour cream cake and it was not worth the calories. the cake was dry and the frosting tasted like it came from a can.

rude owner, needs to learn some manners in the restaurant biz!. this past week i ordered a double layer, 1/4 sheet cake! the cake was clearly too big for the box as it was shoved in. the piping and and icing were smeared across almost three sides. there were indentation marks from the box on two sides. this cake looked like it had rode in the back of car! after complaining to the owner, ron popp via phone. he said there was nothing they can do about it. i stated to him, clearly it was still edible, but i wasn't about to pay $70.00 for this cake looking like this. he told me if i didn't like it, i could purchase two round cakes instead or go buy a cake at hyvee. i literally stood there in shock as i, the customer, was treated so rudely, when even the employees were agreeing with me that cake had taken a beating. i ended my conversation as clearly we were getting no where and he began to raise his voice to me over the phone! the two employees at the counter took the cake to back counter and tried to fix it for me. at that time, the owner called them back and told them, "they were not allowed to even sell me the cake and to take it away from me". he is clearly one of the rudest restaurant owners i think i've ever dealt with. i've been going there for years, but i suggest to everyone, think about where you're spending your money. we have 1000 restaurants in omaha and bakeries all over town, spend your money where it's appreciated. i then attended a birthday party - with no cake, thanks towheatfieldsbad attitude!

wake up, wheatfields!. i've thought for a long time thatwheatfieldsis not a good value. my visit on aug 31 confirmed this and more.

i ordered bacon and eggs. the eggs looked awful, but were edible. hashbrowns and toast were stone cold. the server was helpful, but i ended up eating bacon and eggs, followed when done by reheated hashbrowns and fresh toast that was warm, but not piping. i stuck to ice water because their coffee and tea beverages are pricey.

the cashier was busy and distracted when i tried to tell her about the problems with the meal.

judging from other posts, i am not the only one coming out ofwheatfieldsdisappointed. there are far too many good restaurants in omaha to waste my time on a place like this. they began to alienate me when they forced delice out of the old market. they continue. i won't be back.

pacific street location, good food, average service. i have been dining atwheatfieldsfor years. first the food is usally very good. i have had a few dishes that are average, but for the most part the food is good. the services is average. the interior is in need of updating, the bench sets in the boothes are sagging and the carpet is old. the strawberry wedding cake is excellent. i order them for speical occassions regularly.

great breakfast. my brother had previously been towheatfieldsso when he was in town again he picked to come here again!

the restaurant is so cute inside! i didnt realize it has a bakery section as well as a restaurant.

they have a huge breakfast menu, and everything on it sounds amazing. it was such a hard decision to pick what i wanted to order! i ended up asking the server his opinion and he helped me decide.

i had a wrap with bacon, egg, cheese, and mashed potatoes in it! (was supposed to have sausage but i opted for none) it was really good. and a side of hash browns and cooked cinnamon apples

they give you huge portions at a decent price!!

i will definitely go back

frustrating experience. we had booked the sunroom atwheatfieldsabout six months in advance, and my mother-in-law talked to them several times up until the wedding about food, liquor, being able to decorate the room, etc. but when we arrived at 7pm for dinner, they had seated other patrons in the room we had reserved. it turned out i had a voicemail on my phone from 5:55pm (when we were already in the wedding rehearsal), asking whether we planned to keep our appointment for 6:00. even if we had scheduled for 6pm (which we didn't, we scheduled for 7pm), why would they call to confirm at 5:55 the day of the event??? it was incredibly frustrating and my mother-in-law was devastated that the event she had worked so hard to plan had been forgotten. to the servers' credit, they worked very hard to get the room set up for us (although they had to kick out the poor customers who had already been seated in there!), and the food was very good. but the shocking thing about it all is that they were unwilling to offer any kind of a discount to my mother-in-law, who paid for the meal, even though we had guests standing out in the restaurant for 20 minutes while they reset the room for us and even though all of the specifications she had laid out were completely forgotten. she contacted the owner, ron popp, about a week later to express her frustration, and he basically blew off her complaints and offered nothing in compensation--after this major problem, she still had to pay full price!!! the servers atwheatfieldsdid everything they could to make things right, but no one was held responsible for the error in scheduling that threw off our dinner. although i have always enjoyed the food at wheatfields, i am too angry to go back after this episode.

good food, not the best, but good. i ate lunch atwheatfieldslast wednesday with my mom. i really don't have anything bad to say about it. service was actually good, but it has been slow in my past experiences.

my biggest complaint aboutwheatfieldsis their menu system. it sends me into overload! i suppose this could be considered a good thing, but i think they could condense things, or at least use less overwhelming (obnoxious) font in their menus. they have breakfast, fondues, "butterbuns", salads, wraps, more sandwiches, hot dinner-like entrees, a chicken section, an atkins section, a burger section, a crepe section, casseroles, desserts...you get the picture. (no, i didn't memorize their menu, but looked on their website...just wanted to give you an idea about their ginormous selections/sections.) it's almost humorous once you get to looking at everything.

okay, enough with that. menu business aside, their food is good. nothing fancy, but just comforting, home-cooked style food. they have tons of vegetarian options, which i enjoy. this day i had the eggplant/veggie wrap and liked it. tons of veggies and it had a herbed cream cheese spread; the wrap itself was good too. the menu said it was served with chips, which i was fine with...but when i got my plate, i noticed they were clearly sun chips. i like sun chips, but a restaurant like this serving them? kinda odd. if they had served it with homemade chips, it would've been a perfect lunch.

my mom had an asparagus/tomato/cheese sandwich (i've had this before, and it's amazing) and she loved it. hers came with waffle fries, which are also really good here.

overall, i would recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. their bakery/pastry section looks amazing, though i've never tried any of them.

good luck reading through the menus, though. :-)
