attractive surroundings bu the oldies music is awful, brings down the whole experience. food is hit or miss. corn and clam chowder was yummy but had to to send the "margerhita flatbread" back because it was covered in pepperoni. when it came back to the table it had eggplant on it. (not really a margerhita). puff pastry on the salmon wellington was soggy. and the accompanying asparagus was as thick as a mans thumb and fairly tasteless. mac n cheese was tasty as was the cremenbrulee and choc cake that was comped because o the flatbread snafu. as for service, it would have been nice if the server had been more informative when presenting te cheese platter and wines. also the food runner had no knowledge of who ordered what. overall it was extremely mediocre for the price, i'd go back for drinks maybe. but not likely for a whole dinner.

the bartender austin reard was fantastic. he made me a drink that was to die for! mixed drinks have turned into a science for those who know their liquor. got to go check out austin at the bar he will introduce you to some yummy drinks! the food is excellent, too. a must see to believe!

the local area needed an upscale bar/restuarant, but has failed on most accounts. i've been seeking this type of place, but my hopes on this establishment have been crushed. i've even the appetizers from the shrimp cocktail (impressive, but overpriced for five shrimp) to the deplorable flatbread pizza (the worst soggiest mess i have encountered). i stayed for the bar clientele and figured i would give their entrees a chance. whatever oven contraption they have took a miniscule 7 oz filet and somehow served my medium request as medium rare and medium well. i can't conceive of a normal chef being able to do this with such a small piece of tender meat, but they did. bar staff is arrogant. i didn't even know they had a drink menu until my 3rd visit after seeing one, even though i had requested their drink specialities. poor layout served by an understaffed lounge, it is an a troublesome place to get service. i fear it does fill a nitch and will likely stay, but it is completely horrible. i tried...and tried, because i wanted a place like this to succeed, but hope cannot make a place better than any sum of its parts. avoid this and hopefully a more sound venture can take the place.

"homies". ok...here it goes. my husband and i have 7 pm reservations on a friday night. the lovely blonde hostess (colleged aged) greets us. wow iam impressed what a sharp young lady! the decor is fantastic..i feel like i am in another city. we are all grins and so excited that albuquerque has finally arrived! soon a group of guys all giggles arrive. the owner greets them with a high five! ok allright already..then suddenly he tells them he has them covered and they are seated..no reservations just "friends" of the owner. the hostess takes a second look at the "friends" . she looked a bit panicked..like as if to say "where am i going to seat these customers with reservations" time passes we are finally seated. as we wait for our dinner we eyeball all the "cougars" passing our table to go to the "ladies room". an old lady with thigh high boots and brown and blonde hair extensions...cool...i bet she doesn't get to go home with anyone as desperate as she may be. allright on with the dinner...the sea bass is tasty..my husband's rib eye is a thin cut..but he says it is not bad. the bill comes and my husband turns to lme and says "we will not be coming back here again" too expensive. not worth it.
to sum it up the best thing vintage 423 had going was the great hostess with the mostess and the short film we watched while waiting for our dinner "cougars on the prowl at vintage 423"

good first experience at vintage on paseo. had lunch with a client at vintage today, and was impressed with the menu. lots of options -- a range of prices and an appealing wine list, too. very inexpensive fish tacos were tasty -- wish i'd chosen the breaded fish option, but tried to save calories and avoided the breading. still good. my client's fresh fruit was great looking. nice riesling was a perfect complement. really good atmosphere, lighting, furniture -- relaxing for lunch. lounge looks like the best place in the paseo corridor to kick back.

excellent meal! 3 different salads ordered, all fresh and delicious. 3 different cuts of steak ordered, definetely prime, beautiful cuts and seasoned to perfection. we are a family of cattle ranchers and we know a good steak. best steak i've had in albuquerque in 9 years i've lived here. friendly waitress just seemed inexperienced. you must try this restaurant- a true winner!

nice place, but what about the food?. lunch on friday with a few friends from the office. the service was good. nice decor and atmoshphere. i ordered the french onion soup with the citrus and pecan salad. for $7.00 there should have been more to the soup! very salty, not much flavor and seemed to be missing onions. for $9.00, maybe the salad should have included some citrus and perhaps more 'salad'? the only plate that appeared to live live up to the menu description was the cuban sandwich that one of my friends ordered. probably won't be spending time there again unless it's just for a drink.

if you like paying exorbitant prices for mediocre food and sub-par service, vintage 423 is your place! we were greeted by two teenaged girls who had to be told my name 3 times before it stuck. there were 4 of us and when my husband's entree didn't arrive with everyone else's, we were told, "it'll be just a few minutes, we cooked the wrong steak". when his steak came, it was rare at best and he'd ordered medium. they re-cooked it to medium rare. we got a half hearted apology and no offer to comp anything. save your money and your time. if you want a prime steak and excellent service, go to marcello's or even high noon. vintage 423 is all looks with no substance.

horrible food & service!. we will never go back. horrible food & service!

they sold us inferior end cuts of filet instead of center cut! the steaks came out of an oven contraption..a terrible, unappetizing color of brownish gray....whoever heard of a fatty filet? my husband took 2 bites and couldn't finish....he complained, they took away his plate and didn't bring him back anything to eat! the other two people who ordered medium filet, sent them back because they were very rare and cold to boot! the new ones came back well done. we felt forced to eat them, as everyone in our party was finished eating by this time.

they still charged us $30 each for the inferior end cuts....outrageous! they finally conceded to give us half price off.....unacceptable....we shouldn't have had to pay anything for the entrees!

the blue cheese mashed had not even a hint of blue cheese. the gigantic asparagus were bland, no sauce and tough.....barely warmed up.

they served what appeared to be day old grocery store on sale regular rolls. ughh.

the server took our appetizer order, then served them. we ate, wondering when he was going to take our entree orders. finally, after finishing our appetizers, we flagged him down and we had to ask him to take our entree order!!! unbelievable.

the owner, daskalos, was wandering around, chatting to customers. he totally ignored us....no apology or anything. the manger? matre'd? said daskalos was going through the filets in the frig after hearing our complaints of inferior end cut filets.....and sure enough, they were all end cuts....so daskalos knew of this problem and chose to ignore it!!!!

manager? matri'd? said they are working out the kinks because they are only 5 weeks old. i don't buy that. we ate at dominicks in scottsdale when it was 4 weeks old and everything was perfect! we love a good steak and eat it several times a week and are not averse to traveling to obtain it.

decor is nice for sure. but decor doesn't make the restaraunt.....it is food....and this place just stinks.

colossal waste of money. do not eat at this place.

rude owner!!!. my husband and i decided to dine at vintage 432 after a wonderful night of drinks at the bar a few weekends ago. we went for valentine's day and had a beautiful, exotic looking, charming waitress. she was extremely friendly and gave perfect service. after our food was delivered and she checked on us, a man that we assumed was a manager roughly grabbed her by the arm and pulled her aside a few feet from the table. most of their conversation was inaudible but we could tell she was visibly uspet as he reprimanded her saying something about her not being "classy enough." we were astonished because we believed she had done a superb job. we asked her who that man was and she replied that it was the owner. we couldn't believe he was punishing her when she did nothing wrong and the fact that he did it in front of all of the customers was even more appaling and completely unprofessional. we felt bad for her and made sure to tip generously to prove that she took very good care of us. we were going to brush it off, however, as we left we saw this owner do the same thing to another waitress as we were leaving. we will not be back. i do not wish to contribute my hard earned money to a place run by a dictator with zero professionalism. too bad because the service, decor, and food was excellent. this place could have a chance of succeding if they were to get new ownership, but clearly this man has no idea how to run a successful restaurant. this man needs to be boycotted!

do not go!!!!!. i honestly suggest to wait a few months for them to work all their kinks out. it would take me an hour to type and explain all the problems we had with this place. it was absolutely ridiculous!! steaks over cooked, and undercooked sent them back and then the came out wrong again. then it was just all down hill from there. refills took like 15 plus minutes and i even had to ask for them. server didn't even take entre order until after we finished our salads and appetizers, even then i had to ask them to take our order. etc. etc. etc.

i will say it is a gorgeous place and i may give it another chance for food at a very later date, in the meantime ill be hitting up their gorgeous bar for cocktails. it's classy and different. feels like you are out of town. i'd just suggest going there for drinks first before you blow 35$+ per steak just to have it sent back twice. the pot pie tho looked good nd was only 13$ or so.

food not worth horrible service. (this review is for the vintage 423 restaurant)

though we were seated on time according to our reservation, we did not see our waitress, receive menus (they said they were "out of menus"... ?), or get water for 15 minutes. many servers/workers walked right by our table without stopping or making eye contact - we had to yell to get someone to help us. our food was good overall, when we finally received it, though i recommend you request dressing on the side as each of our salads was overdressed.

we noticed that the owner of vintage 423 would greet only the guests he knew (perhaps his fellow trust-fund buddies?) and it was these customers who received (better) service. if you don't know the owner, you don't get service. period. having to ask for silverware, water, and help all through dinner is not a good way to keep customers happy and coming back (isn't this obvious?).

as a restaurant owner myself, this place clearly has potential to be one of the better dining establishments in albuquerque. that is why it is a huge shame that this new, well-decorated, well-located, upscale-feeling establishment has such poor execution. if the owner and his staff do not improve the service, i give the restaurant 6 months, tops.

can't wat for my next visit!. i have been to vintage twice now and only have great things to say.

on my first visit, i sat in the bar while waiting for the rest of my large party to arrive. the bar looks like something that you would see in south beach. it is hip and has a great vibe. the waitstaff was courteous and attentive. the wine selection is superb and my glass of wine was incredible. i also had a cocktail that was excellent. my party sampled almost everything on the menu. the presentation of each of the dishes was beautiful. i had the seafood corn chowder and have to say that is my new favorite. i also had the salmon and it was cooked exactly to my request.

on my next visit, it was lunch with a party of 10. we ordered appetizers and i couldn't stop eating the calamari. the bacon wrapped quail was also a big hit. my personal favorite are the deviled eggs. what a great idea to serve them as an appetizer! for lunch i had the seafood corn chowder and the strawberry citrus salad. beautiful presentation and excellent combination of tastes. the portions are the right size to leave you feeling satisfied. we topped off our meal with the most decadent fudgy chocolate cake and a tres leches cake that caused such a ruckus that we all wanted the recipe and small piece that was left over to take home.

on my next visit, i will take my rather fussy parents for dinner and i have drinks at the bar planned with the girls in two weeks. i'll let you know what they think...

excellent dinner experience. we had dinner at vintage 423 on thursday and it was one of the most enjoyable meals i've had in albuquerque. i had the chilean sea bass with risotto which was excellent. my friend had the filet mignon, which he orders rare, and it came exactly as ordered. he said it was the best steak he's ever had in new mexico. the selection of wines offered a wide selection at a very acceptable price. as with any new restaurant, their wait staff were nice but needed a bit more seasoning. over all it's a place i plan to return too.

great filet!. i spent the evening at v423 with a friend and had a great dinner in one of the booths off the bar. drinks were great, bread was great, and my filet mignon cooked rare was the best steak i've ever eaten. it's hard to get "rare" right, and they nailed it. the management was visible, friendly, and attentive.

i think some of the earlier reviews may be a bit misleading as almost any new restaurant may struggle a bit in the first month. i would definitely go back.

the wait staff was friendly and didn't rush us through what turned out to be a very long dinner because we were relaxed and just taking our time...

too full for dessert; we'll have to go back!
