fading fast?. we tried this place out when it first opened and it was th "in thing" god knows abq needs a good upscale joint like this. but after 3 or 4 more tries it seems to be loosing it's luster. not packed in thebaranymore... service is poor despite plenty of roaming servers

service is a bit better when you dine at the bar. appetizers are bit pricey, drinks are about the standard rate. but the staff seems a bit uncomfortable with their jobs in general. consider adding a happy hour withbarfood specials...

very nice ambience; feels like you're in scottsdale. food in general is okay, but quite pricey. hope this place can get it together and garner support from the locals. will give it one more try in a few months.

vintage 423 has the right stuff for me!. i had visited vintage a few months ago to see for myself what all the excitement was about! the lobos were playing basketball and thebarwas packed; but that didn't seem to hinder the service i received. i was there for a couple of hours and never once had to look for a server or bartender to take my order or provide me with a refill. i had a great experience then so i decided to go back on a saturday afternoon when i hoped that it wouldn't be so busy...and it wasn't. i arrived around 230ish and was pleased to see that people were eating and drinking happily on the patio. i chose to sit at thebarhowever because the weather was somewhat cool and breezy. there wasn't a crowd inside and before i could sit down the very attentive bartender was ready to take my order. she offered to bring me warm, fresh bread with olive oil and garlic to dip it in while i decided what i wanted to eat. i ordered a glass of merlot and a ceaser salad for starters. i looked around to observe the other patrons who just as myself were enjoying the sleek atmosphere and company of others. they were dressed casual as most people do on a saturday afternoon in albuquerque and i fit right in. i decided not to order anything else off the menu but i did enjoy drinking a couple more glasses of wine which were fabulous! i stayed for maybe 2 hours and met several new people who themselves enjoyed the awesome service and friendly atmosphere. i find it difficult to believe the poor reviews that have been written because it has been my experience on two seperate occasions that the service and team work of all the employees has been what it should be, and that is to simply ensure that all visitors receive their full attention and a fine dining experience. here's to a job well done vintage!!!!

all i can say is wow!!! what a beautiful place! i went in for happy hour yesterday and it was an absolute blast. apparently they just started their happy hour, but i wouldn't have guessed because between 4-6 thebarwas packed ! but who wouldnt want to be there, the choices are great and the prices omg so good! $2.50 for a draft and 1/2 priced appetizers? youre kidding!! our server sophia was very sweet and attentive as well as the two managers stephanie and christie i believe (forgive me if i got the names wrong) all of the people there are fun an energetic and it's definitely the place to have a great time. all of you people who are concerned about bad service and prices , first of all i think people get annoys at a slightly more expensive menu which is taken out on the wait staff, come on people this isn't chilis and why wouldn't you want to help support a private local business instead of these multi million dollar corporations?!? let's help them thrive, learn, and grow and i think this place will become a town favorite!! good luck vintage! i will sure be back! oh and i finally found their website it's www.vintahe-423.com for whoever wants to see an online menu.

horrible service, overpriced food!. went to vintage for the first and last time this evening! we were asked "how can i help you" as we walked into this restaurant! that's weird, i thought! then we were seated in a corner booth in the bar. our "server" who i figured out later is actually a bartender finally came around about 15 minutes later to get our drink order. she looked like she just got out of prison, as her arm had a huge tatoo, fully visible and totally out of place for a supposed "upscale" restaurant! i asked for a refill of my water at least 3 times throughout the dinner, but only got 1 refill 30 minutes after asking for it! we were further disrupted by a loud group of angry women accompanied by a few loud, cussing men in thebararea very pissed off at the way they had been treated by a female bartender! the entire experience was unexpectedly classless, rude and unbelievably trashy for a so called "upscale" restaurant! extremely disappointed and will never return! i forgot to mention our check was dropped off and the "server" never came back to process our payment so i had to walk it up to her at thebarafter about 30 minutes! horrified!

horrible service!!! okay food. we went to vintage on a weekday evening when it was really slow. walked in the front door, and must have stood there for 5-10 minutes, with still no sign of life from any employees. we finally wandered into thebarand there was the bartender, several patrons, and an off the clock employee. i asked the bartender if it was open seating, she responded yes. we started to make our way around thebarand the off the clock employee moved her purse over a chair and stated that we couldn't sit there. it didn't bother us because we wanted to eat at a table. we grabbed a table and the bartender grabbed menus and started to head towards us. she immediately stopped because we were not sitting at the bar, so we were out of her section. she went and got our actual waitress. our waitress actually did a good job. but if eating here, expect to be faced with a charge for everything. want to add a red wine steak sauce, surcharge! want to add a side salad, surcharge! want to add vegetables, surcharge! by the time it was over, we had over a $100 bill. if you are spending that much, find a better restaurant with superior service. hit up vernon's hidden valley steakhouse, about the same price and better in every category.

delish! new chef, good choice. we went to vintage in early october to celebrate our son's birthday. we had several different items from the "new menu". there is a new chef and i must say that the food is much better than my prior visits. i started with an heirloom tomato salad which was divine. next, i had the seared salmon. it was served very hot and cooked to perfection. one of us had a seafood pasta which was devoured in minutes, and my son had a delicious steak. some of the items like steaks do not come with sides anymore. that makes them a bit pricey, but if the meat is good quality (which it was), then it is worth it. we finished off our meal with an outstanding flourless chocolate cake. it was amazing. all in all, we had a great dinner. i've been to thebarsince then and had several appetizers which have been great: antipasto platter, home made potato chips, salsa and chips (salsa is much better than it was). the staff is generally friendly and service was good. definitely worth another try if you haven't been in a while. happy eating...

rudest owner ever. my husband and i are always looking for new restaurants to try. we happened to see vintage and decided to give it a try. we went for a late lunch so they were not very busy. the host couldn't quite figure out where to seat us so it took a while but that was ok. she finally led us to a booth in thebararea. this is where the problems started. there is a relatively narrow walkway between the booths and the raised seating area. the owner was standing there flirting with two women who really looked like they just wanted him to go away. he looked up and saw us trying to get by but just smirked and went right back to his conversation. the best part...i was in a wheelchair so we couldn't just squeeze by. after several awkward minutes, he finally moved. it's bad enough to be 33 and in a wheelchair and deal with the stares and questions...it's even worse when the owner makes a spectacle of you. i really felt like he just didn't want anyone in there that wasn't his definition of perfect. we finally got seated and it just got worse. the servers have no idea what they are doing. i assume they are hired based on looks rather than iq. the food was ok once we finally received it but not really anything special especially for the price. we were definitely excited when we first walked (rolled) in, but that excitement faded quickly. the owners really need to work on the way they treat customers if they want people to come back. i had never been treated as second best until this experience. there are a lot of really good restaurants and bars in abq. i suggest people go to them even if they don't look trendy. it will be a much better experience with better food and nicer people.

visited for lunch and was very pleased. in my previous review service was definitely sub-par, but we noticed a huge improvement; cheers to management. sonia at thebarwas very pleasent and attentive.
i ordered the lamb gyro lunch special and was pleased. my wife had the fish tacos; three large tacos with a spicy slaw. we each had a glass of wine and for the price were pleased with the selections.
will most defintely return and try the happy hour specials and give dinner another shot.

food was very good, pricy but good. wine list has a wide selection and some good bargains.
service horrible. we sat at thebarand had decent service, but viewed tables that were not visited for 20 minutes. one table was completely forgotten and they eventually walked out; their server was very busy on her cell phone. hostess might as well have been a prison guard with her attitude. the restaurant was mainly empty and plenty of staff, so no excuse for unattentative servers.
we may return, but doubt we would sit at a table based on our observances.

good from far, but far from good.. i entered the restaurant very impressed, especially when i saw the nice waterfall and was greeted with a warm welome. it was a night out with my family to enjoy a new place. i had arrived a bit early, so i went to thebarto enjoy an expertly mixed cocktail, it was very pleasing to the palate. a few of my guests straggled in so we ventured off to the dining room. it was a while before the server approached us. we were even offered bread by someone else other than our server. we enjoyed the bread fairly fast, only because we were only given 4 slices, when there were 6 people in my party and was never offered anymore. after our server finally approached us, we placed our dinner order. about 15-20 minutes went by our server comes by our table and tells me, "i am sorry, your salad is going to be served with your dinner since they are plating it right now." our meal was brought out and then five minutes later my wilted salad was brought out. this is the first time i have seen a salad take longer than a medium well steak. i would call the food mediocre, the mashed potatoes were obviously old and the food just lacked the "wow!" factor, especially since i was eating a $40 steak that seemed like it was microwaved. the music was not of taste, hearing miley cyrus ring in my ears while trying to enjoy my family just wasn't very pleasing. the food is definitely not worth the price. i will return, but only for drinks. there is nothing that irk's me more than to have a poor server in an expensive reataurant.

great food and service!. my husband and i have eaten at the beautiful vintagebarand in the dining room several times and have been thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. it's normal for a new restaurant to experience some growing pains in the first few weeks but i'd recommend giving this restaurant a second chance. it is well worth it! some of the standout appetizers i've had at thebarinclude the coconut shrimp, fried asparagus and the tenderloin steak quesadillas. they also have the best hamburger we've had in albuquerque.

great experience. i had three meals at vintage 423 when passing through albuquerque two weeks ago. the two lunches (the burger and the santa fe prime rib sandwich) were great and the service was excellent. i had food with a group at thebarone night (a variety of appetizers) where we got great service and really enjoyed the food.

horrible management, no wonder there are so many bad reviews!. we were told by management that because we live in albuquerque we should not expect good customer service. this was after an employee hit my friend. it was an accident, but instead of simply apologizing he was very rude to her. when she asked to speak to the manager he was a total jerk about it, too. as i was walking out in anger the employee very rudely and sarcastically asked if i wanted a refund on my bad experience. he was not offering to refund out bill, he was being a jerk.

apologies go a long way! we would not be telling everyone we know to not visit this terrible establishment if the manager had uttered a simple "i'm sorry my employee was rude, ma'am. we will take care of it." how hard is that?

the food was also not good. our waitress was sweet and appalled at the manager, as well as thebartenders.
