great food and service!. my husband and i have eaten at the beautiful vintage bar and in the dining room several times and have been thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. it's normal for a new restaurant to experience some growing pains in the first few weeks but i'd recommend giving this restaurant a second chance. it is well worth it! some of the standout appetizers i've had at the bar include the coconut shrimp, fried asparagus and the tenderloin steak quesadillas. they also have the best hamburger we've had in albuquerque.

great experience. i had three meals at vintage 423 when passing through albuquerque two weeks ago. the two lunches (the burger and the santa fe prime rib sandwich) were great and the service was excellent. i had food with a group at the bar one night (a variety of appetizers) where we got great service and really enjoyed the food.

abq reviewers suck. disclaimer, we have eaten in the lounge (3 times) and have done starters and drinks. the service has been outstanding. we have enjoyed every item that we have ordered so i don't get the haters. it is hard finding an upscale place in albuquerque that you can take your friends to and hope to impress. this is the place.

either the owner (s) have a lot of enemies or the people that have to chosen to spend a little more for atmosphere and location have expected brilliant food of the highest order. come on folks this is albuquerque. we don"t have much upscale!

good luck vintage overcoming the ----------- who can't see the great eating and sports watching experience that you have crafted. i can only hope that you will consider outside televisions to add the experience.

horrible management, no wonder there are so many bad reviews!. we were told by management that because we live in albuquerque we should not expect good customer service. this was after an employee hit my friend. it was an accident, but instead of simply apologizing he was very rude to her. when she asked to speak to the manager he was a total jerk about it, too. as i was walking out in anger the employee very rudely and sarcastically asked if i wanted a refund on my bad experience. he was not offering to refund out bill, he was being a jerk.

apologies go a long way! we would not be telling everyone we know to not visit this terrible establishment if the manager had uttered a simple "i'm sorry my employee was rude, ma'am. we will take care of it." how hard is that?

the food was also not good. our waitress was sweet and appalled at the manager, as well as the bar tenders.

the service sucks. hard to tell who the employees are because they are standing around doing nothing. it took 30 minutes to get a beer and i was standing right by the bartender! don't waste your time. also the clientele are a bunch of pretentious snobs.

it makes sense therefore that a restaurant in which people connections are made daily would incorporate into its name the highway designation for the bridge (figuratively and literally) between albuquerque’s residents. because of its extensive wine offerings, the word “vintage” (as in the year or place in which wine of high quality was produce) also makes sense, ergo vintage four twenty-three, a sophisticated and trendy milieu unlike any in the duke city.

date night. what can i say about vintage 423? well the night started out with us wanting to go out for date night. and i am extremely happy with our choice. we were greeted by a young enthusiastic hostess. we chose to have a seat at the bar. upon sitting down the wait staff was taking our order immediately. it was nice to see so many people out in this "so called tight economy". after about 20 minutes of being there we saw some great looking food being served to other customers. at that point we decided to make vintage our place for the night. we ordered an appetizer that was asparagus with a dip. prepared to perfection and served piping hot. my wife enjoyed some "delicious" fish tacos and i had a great burger. all in all it was a fun filled night of drinks and dinner. and i can assure you this we will return, and recommend this place to our friends and family. i would also like to recognize the general manager. i believe her name was christy. (forgive me if i'm wrong)
if i had to guess i would say she was the owner of that place. the way she was engaging her customers, i would say this place has a great future! keep up the great job!!!

hit mcdonalds on the way!. another classic case of swanky decor and poor overpriced food. this place is decorated very well, they are going for the "upscale" restaurant look. the food was ok and the reason i refer to it as poor is because you do not get what you pay for. i ordered the jumbo crab stuffed mushrooms appetizer, they were not bad but i did not taste one bit of crab and they were $15 for 5 mushrooms and i would not call them "jumbo" either. the main dish i ordered was chilean sea bass (which i love normally) was virtually tasteless! for a cool $33. i normally do not mind paying top dollar for good food but it was not good food; i enjoyed the cheesy rice that it was served with more than i enjoyed the fish. the wife got the scallops and they did not taste like much either, for $23. again when i pay for top dollar food i expect top dollar food, this place does not have the level of food that they charge for. my pet peeve hot food, my food and the wife's food was lukewarm. the environment is nice, a good place for socializing and they accommodate large groups. the service was not bad either. my suggestion if you are invited to dinner here with friends would be to hit mcdonalds on the way to the restaurant because you actually get a good value for the food you pay for and enjoy a drink while others eat dinner. or order something cheaper off the menu. a few people in the group got burgers that they said were good same with the pasta dishes. i do believe they are a reservation only restaurant, which is good because there is no wait. if they seasoned and served the food hot this review would read differently.

mediocre at best.. i was excited to try a new restaurant by my house, so took a friend there for her birthday. we got seated promptly and was immediately brought water and bread. i was impressed by the upscale decor. things stared to go downhill when i asked the waitress what she liked to eat there. she told us that she didn't eat there much as it is kind of pricy and they didn't give her a big discount. how do they expect their waitstaff to sell their food if they don't let them eat it without paying almost full price? come on, make a plate or two every shift and let the staff at least sample the dishes!

my friend got the thai steak salad and said it was delicious. i tried the fish tacos and while not outstanding, it was acceptable for the price.

after we finished our main courses, a lady came by to pick up our dishes. she was either one of the owners or the manager. she asked us if we wanted dessert! but didn't know what they had when we asked her. she sent the waitress to get our dessert order. we were told the apple cobbler was outstanding some ordered it and coffee. the coffee arrived luke-warm. but it was good coffee, so would have been excellent if it had been hot. the apple cobbler was ok. a huge plate of it arrived. the apples were sliced really large and hard to eat with the spoons they brought us, but very tasty. the ice cream was high quality and good. it was the 'biscuits' they had on it that confounded me. the literally looked like breakfast biscuits, but were extremely hard and dry. we had to take a fork to break them up to eat them and they were not sweet at all. really strange. seemed like yesterday's hard biscuits on top of what could have been an incredible dessert.

overall, i spent $50, including tip. a very expensive lunch for two. i won't go back until i hear that the rough edges have been smoothed out.

a mixed experience. my wife and i had read the mixed reviews by vintage 423 customers but we wanted to experience the restaurant ourselves. the crab corn chowder was very good as was the salad we selected. however, we had a mixed experience with our entrees. my wife enjoyed the scallop dish but my sea bass dish was fishy (this was the most expensive entree on the menu). i was only able to eat two or three bites before i gave up on the dish. when told of the problem, the waiter said he was very sorry but did not make any adjustment to the bill. we will not be returning any time soon!

excellent experience. i drive past this new spot daily only to be intrigued by the flashy gas fireplaces and people dining outside... what the heck...
i celebrated my birthday at this new "hot spot" in albuquerque... its not often you get this type of "new flavor" atmosphere here... so it was a great breath of fresh new air!

my suggestion is to make reservations well in advance - as the place was packed! (for all you haters - go someplace else)

food was terrific, service was good, dining area was great, the bar was just illuminated brilliant. bravo to the filet i had! i will definitely return ~

atmosphere doesn't mean quality. all the negative reviews are correct!

steaks were tough and tasteless. the atmosphere was awesome to bad they don't allow outside food and drinks.

terrible birthday. i've been to vintage several times. the second time i went i ordered a spinach dip that was really good but has since been taken off the menu. the service is only average when i've sat at the bar and bad the rest of the time. made a reservation 3 weeks ago for my birthday because the atmosphere is nice and drinks are good. big mistake! we had at least 6 waiters throughout the night. whenever one had time they would come over but we waited a long time because there were over 20 people in my party and someone always needed something. it wasnt even a busy night. the bar decided to mute the background music and instead have the audio from the lobo game blasting. there were people in our reserved area screaming and yelling at my guests to sit down. if you've been there before, this is not the usually environment. people mix and mingle, stand and sit and when i made my reservation, this is what i expected. i would not have made a reservation if i knew this would happen. the food was too expensive for what it was. our steak quesadilla was a little chopped up meat and more fat with slices of american cheese melted inside. the 'international cheese plate' consisted of 2 tiny pieces of brie, some cubed mystery cheese and slices of swiss that was probably from trader joes. there were about 4 wheat crackers and the rest were graham crackers. for $17! i dont think this place will last too much longer once people get over the look of it.
