absolutely wonderful. this was a most rewarding dining experience. the service was excellent, the food was superb and the dessert was extraordinary. it is asmallplace and that is probably makes it so good. i had the veal marsala and the veal was sliced very thin and tender enough to cut with a fork. the pasta side was not overcooked. i had the tiramisu for dessert and it was simply to die for. i lived and worked in italy for two years and this was as good an italian restaurant meal as i have had since i left. i talked to the owner and his comment to me was "i try to bring a little bit of italy to my restaurant every day". i am on business here in tampa and this place is now on my must visit list whenever i am in town. thank you urbanspoon for helping me find this gem.

when something is this good, you write about it so others can have the same experience. vino has italian standards, but try their nightly special - typically innovative takes on classics. attentive, courteous service adds immensely to the great plates. it's asmallplace, so prepare to smell the dishes at the table next to you...this is a good thing!

i was completely blow away. from the outside, vino e pasta is humble and unassuming. it is verysmalland intimate, but the space is used well. my boyfriend and i were just looking for a decent dinner on a rainy tuesday night when we stumbled upon this gem. we were immediately sat and water brought to us and drink orders taken within the first two minutes. through out the dinner we were waited on by no less than 3 or 4 people. i was immediately impressed by the hospitality. a server answered out questions on the menu and promptly took our orders. by the time we'd been there 10 minutes we had our drinks (a glass of wine recommended by your server is a must), a complementary bruschetta, and we're finishing our very fresh salads with homemade vinegarette.
our food came out quickly and piping hot. my boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana and i had the veal marsala. i love veal marsala and will try it anywhere, but i think it will be a challenge to find any as good as at vino e pasta. it was incredibly tender and the marsala was so delicious that it all just melted on my tongue. i'm not a mushroom fan and although i appreciate the flavor they add, i never actually eat them in marsala. i finished every last one in my plate because i couldn't get enough. i try to avoid chicken when eating out because it is usually overlooked and tasteless, but i tried a bite of my boyfriend's dish and he had to stop me from stealing the rest. it was juicy, tender, and do flavorful! both of our meals came with a side of penne in a homemade vodka and cream sauce that was to die for. i couldn't take more than a bite or two of my entree without having to go back to the penne and vice-versa.
to top our meal off, we ordered the tiramisu to share. i am an italiano lover and i cannot pass up a good tiramisu. this was beyond good, it was heavenly. overall, vino e pasta is by far the best italian i have ever had, and possibly the best dinner i have ever had, period. and at almost half the price of what you might spend at a big chain italian restaraunt, how can you go wrong? the servers treat you like you're spending asmallfortune though! i can't wait to go back!!!

i like it. ...or, at least i want to. recently visited on a friday evening without reservations. they probably seat about 40 inside and another dozen out front, which is dog friendly, and they are quaintly decorated. loud (italian) atmosphere inside. i was greeted and escorted to the bar while i waited for the rest of my party. the wine list, while not extensive, has some decent quality pours and is very reasonably priced. asmallbruschetta appetizer (fresh and delicious) appeared (and disappeared!) quickly. we were seated and got menu's and while we got our salads quickly the entree's were slow, based on the tiny kitchen.the food was good, with the exception of the fra diavalo - i am a big fan of seafood diavalo and the spicy heat and there was none to this - more like a marinara and as the special it was not very and too pricy for what i got by half. good lemon cake desert finished the meal. i will give them another shot...

now this is italian!. small, cozy, romantic - those are the words i think of when i walk into vine e pasta. the atmosphere is great and the owner himself walks around and greets each table. one time, he even served me and my date limencello dessert shots from his own private stash just to help us celebrate our anniversary. the food is rustic but not unrefined. the portions aren't overwhelming, which i prefer, because it showcases more of the delicate flavors that the plates have to offer. sure, there are some typical pasta dishes but the specials allow the chef to really shine and i encourage you to try them. the wine list issmallbut has a decent selection of chiantis. the price is also decent, allowing 2 people to eat and drink (wine) for around $50. good stuff!
