absolutely wonderful. this was a most rewarding dining experience. the service was excellent, the food was superb and the dessert was extraordinary. it is a small place and that is probably makes it so good. i had the veal marsala and the veal was sliced very thin and tender enough to cut with a fork. the pasta side was not overcooked. i had the tiramisu for dessert and it was simply to die for. i lived and worked in italy for two years and this was as good anitalianrestaurant meal as i have had since i left. i talked to the owner and his comment to me was "i try to bring a little bit of italy to my restaurant every day". i am on business here in tampa and this place is now on my must visit list whenever i am in town. thank you urbanspoon for helping me find this gem.

when something is this good, you write about it so others can have the same experience. vino hasitalianstandards, but try their nightly special - typically innovative takes on classics. attentive, courteous service adds immensely to the great plates. it's a small place, so prepare to smell the dishes at the table next to you...this is a good thing!

the name alone is appealing, as vino and pasta are two of my favorite things. located at 3603 w. gandy blvd. in south tampa, vino e pasta is a quaint littleitalianspot with big flavor. with 2013 coming to a close, i wanted to spend the last few days indulging in my favorite foods before i get back on track to lose those holiday pounds in january. after a hectic week with work and last-minute christmas shopping, i was cravingitaliancomfort food and decided to head over to vino e pasta with a friend. it had not been well over a year since my last visit and i was ready to dive into their delicious menu. my friend and i arrived about 6:30 on a saturday night. the place was bustling and we did not have a reservation. one of the staff members welcomed us and offered us a table on their covered patio if we did not want to wait for a seat in the restaurant. we chose the patio and were immediately greeted with bruschetta and menus. as we enjoyed our bruschetta and looked over the menu, we o

i was completely blow away. from the outside, vino e pasta is humble and unassuming. it is very small and intimate, but the space is used well. my boyfriend and i were just looking for a decent dinner on a rainy tuesday night when we stumbled upon this gem. we were immediately sat and water brought to us and drink orders taken within the first two minutes. through out the dinner we were waited on by no less than 3 or 4 people. i was immediately impressed by the hospitality. a server answered out questions on the menu and promptly took our orders. by the time we'd been there 10 minutes we had our drinks (a glass of wine recommended by your server is a must), a complementary bruschetta, and we're finishing our very fresh salads with homemade vinegarette.
our food came out quickly and piping hot. my boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana and i had the veal marsala. i love veal marsala and will try it anywhere, but i think it will be a challenge to find any as good as at vino e pasta. it was incredibly tender and the marsala was so delicious that it all just melted on my tongue. i'm not a mushroom fan and although i appreciate the flavor they add, i never actually eat them in marsala. i finished every last one in my plate because i couldn't get enough. i try to avoid chicken when eating out because it is usually overlooked and tasteless, but i tried a bite of my boyfriend's dish and he had to stop me from stealing the rest. it was juicy, tender, and do flavorful! both of our meals came with a side of penne in a homemade vodka and cream sauce that was to die for. i couldn't take more than a bite or two of my entree without having to go back to the penne and vice-versa.
to top our meal off, we ordered the tiramisu to share. i am an italiano lover and i cannot pass up a good tiramisu. this was beyond good, it was heavenly. overall, vino e pasta is by far the bestitaliani have ever had, and possibly the best dinner i have ever had, period. and at almost half the price of what you might spend at a big chainitalianrestaraunt, how can you go wrong? the servers treat you like you're spending a small fortune though! i can't wait to go back!!!
