a very attractive and charming family-owned restaurant! spouse and i started with minestrone, laden with vegetables in a marvelously seasoned light tomato-based broth. just great! accompanying the soup was excellent fresh bread served with butter and pesto. (we ate the whole loaf.) spouse selected chicken milanese for entrée which was superbly prepared, topped with crushed tomatoes and lemon wedges, served with a side of penne in a pink (tomato/cream) sauce. for entrée, i ordered clams & mussels atop tagliatelle in a light marinara sauce. the clams were sweet, the mussels very large and succulent, and the delectable sauce had just the right amount of seafood taste. a glass of mellow chianti (da vinci) lubricated my dinner while spouse enjoyed a glass of pinot grigio. all of the staff work as a team and are warm, friendly, professional, and attentive including theownerwho visited our table. a delightful dining experience!

absolutely wonderful. this was a most rewarding dining experience. the service was excellent, the food was superb and the dessert was extraordinary. it is a small place and that is probably makes it so good. i had the veal marsala and the veal was sliced very thin and tender enough to cut with a fork. the pasta side was not overcooked. i had the tiramisu for dessert and it was simply to die for. i lived and worked in italy for two years and this was as good an italian restaurant meal as i have had since i left. i talked to theownerand his comment to me was "i try to bring a little bit of italy to my restaurant every day". i am on business here in tampa and this place is now on my must visit list whenever i am in town. thank you urbanspoon for helping me find this gem.

first we were greeted by theownerwhen we walked in. the atmosphere is small and quaint but very romantic; a lot better than your big restaraunts. the food was amazing!! oh and then theownerstopped talking to another table to thank us on our way out!! we absolutely love that kind of service!! thank you!

absolutely wonderful!. theownercould not be more charming! he greets everyone personally and makes certain you enjoy your experience. the cuisine is delicious of course. i have never enjoyed eating at a restaurant as much as this one. i have brought countless friends and family members here.

now this is italian!. small, cozy, romantic - those are the words i think of when i walk into vine e pasta. the atmosphere is great and theownerhimself walks around and greets each table. one time, he even served me and my date limencello dessert shots from his own private stash just to help us celebrate our anniversary. the food is rustic but not unrefined. the portions aren't overwhelming, which i prefer, because it showcases more of the delicate flavors that the plates have to offer. sure, there are some typical pasta dishes but the specials allow the chef to really shine and i encourage you to try them. the wine list is small but has a decent selection of chiantis. the price is also decent, allowing 2 people to eat and drink (wine) for around $50. good stuff!
