wow! what a wobble experience!!!. well, let's start off with the recent reviews i've heard before trying vertigo myself. a co-worker went to vertigo for lunch this week and camebackto the office with a to go order. when she told me how much she paid... i was like "that is ridiculous, and i'm never going there." she got a "straight up" burger and fries for $10. omg! she told me that it wasn't worth the money. the chat we had in the office about vertigo was that we were not going to vertigo. my boss told us that vertigo is owned by the same people that own cypress and that it is "supposed" to be a gourmet burger shop. by the way, the comments about cypress wasn't good either.
then today, i told my boss at another job about vertigo. he said that he was going to try it for lunch. he also got the straight up burger and fries which was $10. he also stated that the "straight up" burger and fries was not worth the money, and that the burger was okay-good, and that he didn't care for the fries. but, he did say that the other burgers probably would have been better. he actually took a picture of the menu and read off some of the burger choices and what was on the burgers.
so after our talk, i decided to switch my plans from steak-n-shake to vertigo. my fiance' was already waiting at steak-n-shake for about twenty minutes for me to get off of work. so i headed over to vertigo, and he had to meet me there from capital circle sw. when i got there, there was a lot of people there eating, hanging out, and looking at the menu. i grabbed a menu, went outside, and set in a chair. i read the entire menu to my mom over the phone. my fiance arrived 5 minutes before they closed.
i ordered a vertigo burger which has beef burger, applewood bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, jalapeno peppers, and vertigo sauce. i had everything except jalapeno peppers and i added lettuce and tomatoes. also, i had a half & half side of sweet potato fries & onion rings. the sweet potato fries come with a herb and bacon mayo, which is quite delish. my fiance selected the triple throw down, which has beef burger, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, and horseradish sauce; he sub horseradish sauce for the herb and bacon mayo. we also got two sweet teas. the food came out quick!!! the server bought it to our table. the burgers were nice, juicy, hot, and big plus overfilling. the onion rings were just enough for me, which was great because my fiance doesn't like them. the sweet potato fries were enough that we could share. we ate a big bite of each other's burger and said that they were both great. my fiance loved his burger, and that the burger was great not to have any cheese. he thought that the fries was just fries, but he did like the herb and bacon mayo sauce on the side. he dipped his burger into the sauce. lol. the owner constantly asked if we wanted a drink refill, and we got one refill. everything was awesome.
the meal cost $26.22, which i thought was worth it; and boyyyy oh boyy was i stuffed! i did the "wobble" out of the door, i mean the overstuffed "wobble!" as we "wobble de wobble" to the cars, we came to the conclusion that we loved vertigo and we would return again since we eat out every weekend.
i would say, that the burgers are pricey but well worth it, and the customer service is great, so stop by and make your opinion count. im glad we went. vertigo definitely beat a night of steak-n-shake.
