vacanza means vacation in italian. everything here is authentic from the ingredients, the techniques, the equipment, right through to the chef and the staff. it's this attention to detail that also shows through in every aspect of your meal.

simple place with a great food!. awesome pizza.. taste good and dining exp was worth it!

fantastic!. really great little authentic pizza place. very chilled and adult, very few horrible screaming kids. oh and the food is fantastic, simple flavours, very friendly staff and no hassle payment. (leave the kids at macca's)

the advantage of being a surry hills local is we never run out of dining options.  in fact there are so many new places to visit that sometimes we take the long standing establishments for granted.  vacanza has been around for quite a while but we never got around to try it until now.  

even during the mid-week there's still queue outside and they don't take reservation, we were lucky to get a table straightaway. after some effort to get staff's attention and finally got our wine glasses, we ordered mozzarella, prosciutto, focaccia bread, and a tiger prawn pizza. every thing tasted fresh and tasty, especially the mozzerella  the pizza had thin crust and cooked in the wood oven on site. byo is $8 per bottle, they also have wine by carafe at reasonable price.

the only down side is there is no air-conditioning and the only ventilation comes from the natural air flow through ceiling to floor sliding doors.  with the heat from pizza oven right inside the restaurant, the place can get quite stuffy.  but it is a small price to pay for good fresh italian treat.

great pizzas on excellent thin chewy bases. although vacanza says "less is more" and i could have handled more toppings, there were still more than average toppings for this kind of pizza and the topping quality and flavour was incredible. the prices are similar to the elite pizza places based in the cheaper suburbs so must be a bargain for surry hills or bronte, except that the pizzas - but nothing else on the menu - bizarrely use x.90 pricing with the .90 in tiny letters on the menu. the lasagne was boring, light on meat and flavour, so stick to the pizzas.

one of the best pizzas i can remember eating. tasted delicious with a base that had the perfect amount of crunch. chose the “da franco” with burrata & triple smoked ham and would highly recommend - burrata is amazing! restaurant is byo which is also a plus.

this place makes amazing and delicious pizza. they offer the most delicious, creamy and fragrant pizzas filled with fresh cheese and toppings.

seriously seriously good and authentic italian pizza.

great local neighbourhood restaurant serving really great pizza and mozzarella. the house wine served in carafes is actually really nice and very affordable. pizza chefs are italian and make the pizza in the open kitchen.

really fantastic authentic italian food. the pizza was just superb, filled with meat with a nice crunchy crust (flavorful even when eaten on its own). we also got the prosciutto with goat cheese mozzarella as well as tomatoes. both were equally superb. will definitely be back!

the first time we went to vacanza we were very impressed: great pizza, buzzing place, fast service. on our second visit we realised how much the place has changed. we were given 2 seats by the window. never were we told that we had to rush as there was a booking within 45 minutes. we had the pizza which was nice. the wine was warm and atrocious. the kick in the guts was when we were asked to vacate half way through drinking the terrible wine. we were asked to go sit on top of a gelato bar to make way for people who had made a booking. they were clearly very annoyed when we refused and the manager was called to try and convince us to finish our drink in the corner. obviously no consideration for the current customers, only interested in getting us moving to make way for other customers. greedy and rude. never going there again.

the best pizza that i have tried in sydney so far.
- the crust is just thin enough but not too crusty that you leave it aside
- the cheese is absolutely delightful
- the toppings just enough to keep you wanting more

the staff are super friendly and more than happy to assist and explain the menu. would recommend them to anyone who appreciates a good pizza!!

service isn’t always the greatest but when the food comes out you complete forget because this could be the best italian pizza in sydney. authentic and just wow. get the truffle pizza, don’t forget to book!

we came as a big group with a set menu and clearly specified dietary requirements. for 4 vegetarians in the group, one pizza and a rocket salad arrived, and it was put on the meat eaters side of the table so we saw none of it. it seems like the bare minimum to get fed when you go to a restaurant. do not go here if you are vegetarian.

cute little pizzeria. prompt service from waitstaff too. we didn’t have to wait as it was a sunday night and getting close to 8pm so it was a good time to go.

there isn’t a lot to choose from in terms of pizzas but they seem very traditional with the “less is more” mantra. very tasty pizzas, with both us ordering the il capitano and the capricciosa. we also ordered the sicilian green olives from the antipasti section of the menu. they were amazing.

standard pricing too compared to other pizzerias.

overall, a lovely spot to eat and have a wine and pizza for a quiet sunday night! i loved the casual vibe too . would go again.
