the perfect casual place to meet a friend for a bite, go on a date or have a large group.

i have been here a couple of times and have loved it each time. the pizzas are traditional floppy thin bases with minimal, but bang on ingredients. so delicious. i’ve had just about every pizza. my favourite is probably the one with mushroom and ham. service is also lovely.

vacanza is an exuberant pizzeria at the corner of bourke and fitzroy street. the casual and unassuming pizza bar features a mozzarella bar and an outdoor area for people-watching. the interior is fitted with brick walls decorated with stencils and pictures of bare-breasted women.

i ordered a vacanza pizza, which came with san marzano tomatoes, olives and mozzarella. the pizza has a thicker crust which makes it more tedious and longer chewing. while the pizzas are distinctly more flavourful and richer in tastes, the crust was flimsy and unable to support the ingredients. hence, the cheese and tomatoes simply fell off the crust and it was a messy affair.

really busy place in surry hills i’d recommend making a booking. the aranchini was nice so was the platter of cured meats and cheese. the pizza was good, one of the flavours we chose (one with the italian sausage?) became a little too soggy by the end of it but still very nice. they charge $8 per bottle of byo wine which i think is good.

cute little corner restaurant in surry hills. surprisingly i’ve passed this place a million times but i never thought to ever visit it! glad i did because the pizzas were amazing. went for the margherita pizza and a saraceno. the chilli oil could be more chilli, but that aside the pizzas were nice and thin and full of topping. love the pizzas here, they're light and packed with flavour without being overly greasy! pizzas came out quickly and service was attentive. place is quite small so you’ll either have to make a reservation or come early to avoid disappointment.

without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best pizza in sydney. there are other good pizza places but the pizzas at vacanza are flawless.

the bruschetta is also amazing, best i’ve ever had. i can’t get back soon enough. i would move to surry hills just so i could eat here more often.

perfect local pizza joint, cosy outdoor seating with heaters, delicious pizza and byo.. great for a mid week catch up meal or a weekend boozy pre drinks dinner!

i have been told several times vacanza is one of the best pizzerias in surry hills. rumor definitely has it. really enjoyed our dinner that we started with fresh burrata & continued sharing da franco, il capitano  & il saraceno pizzas. staff is really nice and efficient. probably better to book early to get a spot outside as it tends to be too noisy inside (it was a saturday night) so better if you are with friends than on a romantic date. great experience!

best italian pizza in sydney (specifying italian bc manoosh does the best labanese pizzas, gotta respect and recognize lanes lol) ordered two pizzas and sardines.. everything was on point except the place was mad busy and we sat on this slope in front of the door... i was scared the wine and water were gonna fall. the huge german shepherd behind us made up for it. actually we didn't make a booking and they gave us discounted drink tickets at the bar down the street because of the long wait. bumping their rating to a 5

great place & food but 2 hours waiting in the pub down the road where they sent us with no communication for a table for 2 - gave up! unfortunately won't be going back despite the food is fantastic.

welcoming and efficient staff, mattia, the manager delivered the best of the service.

cozy atmosphere, perfect lighting and pleasant music.
small menu, full of delicious dishes, loved the pizza with shaved black truffle, light crispy dough but the peak of the entire experience was waiting for us...their tiramisu is the best in sydney!!!!the only one made with authentic italian mascarpone.

pizza was good but base not as thin and crispy as i would expect. and the noise! impossible to hold a conversation because the music is much too loud

now this is the place to come for authentic italian pizza! the toppings are kept to a minimum and the dough is absolutely delicious. vacanza pizzeria has both indoor and outdoor seating options. sitting outside allows you to take in the streets and watch the people stroll on by. for starters we had the bolognese and pea arancini, garlic and herb bread and the green olives. mains were all about the pizza - the diavlo with hot sopressa, tomato and olives was my favorite but do not order this one unless you are a chilli lover. the capricciosa came in a close second with ham, artichokes, mushrooms and olives. pairing with wine is a must and overall you will be pleasantly surprised by how cheap the meals are. be sure to ask the staff for some chilli oil to add to your pizza. bellissimo!

very strong pizza offering. the secret to their success - like any good pizza - is the base really. thin, dry, with plenty of chewiness and with a flavoursome san marzano covering, it's a winner. the highlight for us was the il capitano - anything with goats cheese and italian sausage can't go wrong. my only issue would be that the tiger prawn pizza didn't actually have many prawns - a minor complaint. take a few friends, it's a good night out.

came with high expectations and delivered on the hype. you gotta love fresh buffala, especially the imported type

service was fast and efficient and food started arriving pretty quickly despite the full house signs up.

pizza's are perfectly balanced between dough to topping ratio the way they should be

all round great experience
