urban sushi & grill

we drove to this location with great expectation, but were greeted with the lousiest service right from the beginning. upon entering the restaurant we were seated right beside the door, which would make a very loud banging noise when it closed. there were many tables available but we were put in the corner. we then asked to move tables because it was so disturbing. the waitress didn’t come back to our table until agood20 minutes later to even offer us anything. based on the reviews of this place, we thought we were in for a treat. turns out that the complaints about the service are very spot on. our waitress was tending to everyone in the restaurant including answering the phone. she did not have time to come to our table even though there were only 4 occupied tables. we had to wave her over for more water and after that she never checked on us. the food was good, but the rolls were so big that they would often fall apart before you could even pick them up. all in all, the food was decent, but the service really put a damper on our outing.

urban sushi is an excellent sushi place that's worth the drive out to white city if you live in regina. i come here often and the owner is extremely nice and welcoming. i've always hadgoodservice and the sushi is fresh and tasty. i recommend the combo c for two people as it includes a variety of maki rolls. the restaurant is clean and the quality of the food is consistent. if you haven't been here yet, definitely give it a try as the menu has a variety of combos and individual dishes to choose from.

very good. i've been a sushi eater for over 10 years, but a very infrequent eater. 3 years ago i got hooked in vancouver, and during the summers i spend out west i eat a lot of sushi. nothing in the prairies even comes close to the quality and value available out there.
urban, out of all the sushi places in regina, does a verygoodjob. i've eaten there a few times and had take-out 3 or 4 times beyond that. the portions are reasonable, and the protein (i.e. raw fish), isn't shaved razor thin like everywhere else in regina. everything has always been fresh.goodjob urban! i'll be coming back a lot.

the best sushi i have ever had!!!!!!! service was good, only took 10 minutes to get out meal and it was amazing!!! we got 2 dynamite combos (dynamite roll, california, and 2 others!) for only $15 each!!! i would have paid a hundred dollars for howgoodit was!!!! i will be making frequent trips out of the city for this great food!!!

decent sushi!. verygoodsushi and excellent value for your buck. is it worth driving to emerald park for it? the answer is "it depends". if you are prepared to pay a bit more, you can get similar quality in enso, michi, and hanabi in regina.

wow!. if you won't make the 5 minute drive out of regina for this food, you must've slipped on the winter ice and hit your head:p consistently great food andgoodportion sizes for a reasonable price. all i can say is yum!

up - nice clean spot for somegoodsushi. quality, service and speed wasgoodtoo.

down - getting back onto the highway is pretty sketchy so be careful. 

out - agoodspot to grab somegoodjapanese if you want to skip the inner city. not that there's anything great in regina... :p

best sushi in regina... by far!. i want to be realistic about the sushi restaurants in regina and area. each one seems to be focused on the all-you-can eat style of sushi (lots of rice and lack of quality ingredients). the urban sushi & grill was a very nice change from the low end sushi around regina. this is no "all you can eat", but the portion sizes certainly leave you stuffed after the fact. the restaurant is very tastefully done, the hostess was very polite and dressed up.

two people ate for $40, we had a full size lunch for the next day to pack up as well. we ordered one of their combos (near the back of their menu). it included a variety of rolls, sashimi, tempura, and we added the alaska roll (smoked salmon).

the prices are great, the food was very fresh, the portions were larger than what we're used to, and their rolls were packed full of thegoodstuff. regina (white city) officially has a sushi place that rivals other high end sushi restaurants throughout canada. thanks, we'll be back many many times, clearly #1 in saskatchewan! as for the "too far to drive" comment, you're kidding right?

well worth the drive!. my boyfriend and i ventured out to emerald park on sunday afternoon after reading about it on this site. i was surprized that we were the only people in the restaurant at 6 pm, considering the quality of the meal we had. the serving staff were friendly and attentive without being clingy. the food was fresh, the flavours bright, the quantity satisfying. i strongly recommend their jungle roll (california roll topped with greens and beef teriyaki - sogoodwe ordered a second!) and their philadelphia roll. the shrimp and yam tempura was lightly battered with no oily residue or taste. our bill with tip came to $50 and was money well spent. we will be back!

!! finally !!goodsushi. i have to say that michi was #1 for the longest time, but the pieces of sushi progressively got smaller and the price higher. miso is my #1 for all you can eat and enso is good, but lack variety........but this place.....simply awesome!!! have been 4 times since they opened and if i could go every week i would! i have ordered many different dishes so far and all are great. the aac roll is supergoodwhen you ask them to add cream cheese to it! my bill has been close to $100.00 each time, simply because we tried so many dishes. and worth every penny. i have been waiting for a place like this ever since an impressive meal at kinjo sushi in calgary.

very resonable prices forgoodfood- the food was great and the prices just can't be beat!!! i highly recommend you try this place.

it wasgoodto me. because,goodservice, awesome taste and a cheap price...so that's why, i was really satisfied with all of things.
