the urban kitchen situated in the dusit thani hotel is simply fabulous.

this was one of the best dining experiences i've had in a long time.

our group of 10 were greeted at the entrance and ushered to our table. we were well looked after, and checked on regularly by the supervisors.

the service was super efficient, friendly and courteous.

the buffet itself was large and varied and caters to quite a few tastes. they have an extensive salad selection along-with a limited but very satisfying live sushi station.

there is an excellent coldseafoodbar serving huge mussels, baby octopi, prawns and razor clams.

there is also a large asian selection with staples like pad thai, lemongrass chicken and hunan beef. there is also a roast section serving wagyu beef, lamb , chicken and roast duck!!

there are live stations serving thai dishes, pasta and desserts. there was also a section serving a selection of customary indian and arabic dishes.

for desserts there is a huge selection of cakes, cheeses and fresh fruits to satisfy any palate.

would i go back? many many times. two thumbs up.

worth many repeat visits.

a fantastic option for friday brunch. it’s called “wok with me” and very recently it was relaunched. if you are aseafoodlover, then this is paradise! the amount of options they have. from oysters, mussels, lobster to prawns, scallops and squid. you will find everything here. they are fresh and ready to dig in. for the ones who aren’t a big fan of seafood, don’t you worry, there are so many other options like rotisserie meat, pasta counter, thai counter, sushi counter, indian chaat counter. the options are endless. have you ever heard of a caviar bar? well they have that too! i highly recommend their buffet on friday’s!! i met their head pasty chef and sous chef and they were the nicest and happiest people i’ve met. they were passionate about their work and the creative desserts they made were fabulous. so many colors, so many flavors. they have one dessert from all over the world. as a sweet tooth, i had to capture some dishes in my photos! see below.

i went for the iftar buffet at urban kitchen tonight.
the buffet was beautifully set up, with a great variety of dishes displayed. i started off with the salads (traditional arabic greens) and soup. i took a plate of the arabian side snacks as well.
i loved the potato &a garlic soup with croutons it was my favorite.
main course was a mix of arabic-asian-indian cuisine which i thought was great as it catered to everyone's palette nicely, vegetarians and non- vegetarians.
there was a section dedicated to grills. there was chicken, lamb, beef and lamb chops along with grilled hamour for thoseseafoodlovers.
the ambiance of the restaurant was middle eastern. the decor was dim lit with arabian music playing in the background, we were served kahwa at the end of our meal which is traditional middle earthen green tea.
i enjoyed my time at urban kitchen, for the money i spent i thought it was a stealer deal. the food served was tasty and options were unlimited. i loved it!

superb food! perfect variety! 😋😋😋👍👍👍

we've tried here for dinner buffet. the food variety is amazing!
and the staff are nice and so accommodating.
im not really a fan of buffet, but here we are eating our hearts out!
i've tasted some of the dishes and i liked the prawns the most since shrimp/prawn are my favorite! :d the texture is awesome, so soft, it taste so good too.
i also tried theirseafoodmixed rice, nothing special, not so tasteful.
next was the duck, its roasted. and yes, it is so yummy! perfectly cooked inside and out.
the pad thai is not so special, just like the normal pad thai from other thai resto.
sushi/maki taste nice. you know it's freshly rolled :d
and there are so many food to choose from, but my happytummy is so much full.
next time i'll visit, definetly eating more! :d

enjoyed the ambience too!

we decided to try out the buffet in urban kitchen at dusit thani - abu dhabi on a thursday. thursday, only because it was going to be aseafoodnight, and the mr. and i never had a chance to try out aseafoodbuffet. on the day of the buffet we received a call from a staff at the restaurant telling us that theseafoodbuffet had changed to international buffet as they had to cater to a group of 200 people. we were totally disappointed. however, the lady told us that those of us who had booked in for aseafoodbuffet would getseafoodplatters served on our table. that didn't sound too bad...as long as we got lobsters, prawns, scallops and everything seafood. so, we decided to try out the buffet anyway.

we of course like any other average joe, bought a groupon online & that is why it had value for money!! apart from the lavish interiors , extravagant design & soothing lights there was nothing i could find fault with. all jokes aside, it was a nice experience which my fiancé enjoyed a little more than me.
maybe my expectations were high, but the choices were normal or even mundane, if i could say that!! having said that every item on display was tastefully laid out, looked very appetizing & did taste good. if only they had a bit more variety in the dinnerseafoodbuffet!! the waiter & waitress, seeing as there were only two of them, were very hospitable & went out of their way to accommodate us. also the chefs who were cooking to order made a difference, by personalizing the experience. the chef at the grill counter was a little hesitant to grill more than one piece of anything that was pointed out. me being the voracious eater that i'm, put aside shame & kept pointing until all the skewers were used.

the deserts were like before- excellent in taste but lacking in creativity & character. at this age & stage, restaurants without michelin stars put the ones with them to bed early, so unless they spice us their act & find the right temperature to work, fewer & fewer people might be returning.

but i will definitely go back because i really do hate their soothing lights , with lavish interiors & very friendly, hospitable staff who patiently wait with professionalism, until the very end!!

price on zomato was not correct. the cost was 195 aed per person forseafoodnight (thursday). we did not realise it was aseafoodnight there was a decent selection ofseafoodbut very little for of anything else. wasnt impressed with the sweet selection. the food i ate was great however, very well prepared. there was free softdrinks with the buffet which was good and the staff were friendly. perhaps its more impressive on other nights.

we went to urban kitchen on saturday for the buffet lunch. on reaching the restaurant we were promptly led to our table.the buffet has a fairly large spread with a salad section, a mains section, a desserts section, a live pasta station and a section for starters. the salads section had a variety of arabic and continental staples along with sushi. there were also a variety of cold cuts. however this is standard fare in any good international buffet. in the starters there were mushroom pizza, roast chicken, batter fried vegetables and arabic mezze. the mains had aseafoodkabsa, lamb biryani, veg curry, chicken harees and thai cashew chicken among other things. surprisingly in the breads though they did mention that there was naan and roti i was disappointed to see heated frozen parathas being served in the place of both these things. desserts had a huge variety as well with umm ali, cheese cakes, fresh fruits, chocolate brownies and a chocolate fountain. so while you can just get full by tasting a morsel of everything in this buffet, i did not find one single dish which i can describe in superlative terms. the taste of everything was just okay. i found flavors lacking. i was also expecting some more asian representation on the menu but sadly this was not the case. in the end i felt i would have been happier with an a la carte lunch with a few of my favorite dishes instead of the lavish spread we had just sampled.
