one of my favorite bloomington restaurants. i have not tried their sunday brunch yet but all of their other menus are great. service is pretty much alwaysgreatand the bartenders are awesome.

my new favorite spot to come in bloomington. the bar is immaculate; the wait staff are top of the line and they provide that class loo the place strives for. the soccer games on tv are alwaysgreatand on at the cafe. overall, i'd say this place a perfect 5/5 rating

awesome breakfast spot.service is pretty much alwaysgreatand the bartenders are awesome.the servers are all good and they have a lot of seating for the restaurant.breakfast is good. definitely recommend their home fries. dinners here have been alright.

i have eaten here multiple times, and each time it has been agreatexperience. breakfast is good. definitely recommend their home fries. dinners here have been alright. the dinner food is definitely good, but i am not blown away. the bar and the bartenders are really nice. it's never overcrowded. definitely my go to place in bloomington.

simply wonderful food in agreatspace. a very classy atmosphere with a very nice bar. the food is always delicious, the specials never disappoint, nor do the desserts. the place is always very clean and usually wonderfully and informative staff, especially with the wine and spirits selection.

great soccer pub!. i oftentimes go there to watch chelsea soccer games and it is agreatatmosphere. the bartenders are not pushy and the food is great! also, a solid selection of food. i recommend the restaurant to anyone!

consistently quality food. alwaysgreatfood and agreatstaff. very consistent, clean, well presented and unique. all the brunch items are delicious, and i will return regularly!

i have enjoyed many delicious breakfasts here over the years, but only recently joined them for dinner. sadly, it wasn't agreatexperience. we had the shrimp/grits and louisiana pepper chicken - both recommended by the staff. perhaps our expectations were too high but neither of us enjoyed our dinner - not much flavor.

we will continue to visit for breakfast when we're in town.

very good breakfast experience. when i think of breakfast in bloomington over the years since graduate school, i think of the uptown's popeye omelet and michael's home fries. the omelet is a wonderful combination of spinach, cheese, bacon. the home fries are spiced and mixed with onions and mushrooms. there is agreatselection of jams to go with the hearty bread. the waitstaff has been consistently fast and attentive in the thirteen years that i have been coming. the renovated space is much more open and appealing. love it!

weekday in the summer.... this place is way too busy on the weekend.
go in the summer time when the students are gone & you can get a parking space.
they havegreatgiant pancakes & yummy waffles.

favorite place to eat in btown. uptown is hands down my favorite restaurant in bloomington. the creole bbq shrimp is my favorite dish. it has a very unique flavor, not like anything you would consider to have a bbq-type flavor. always consistent and fresh.greatatmosphere and service are a plus.

this restaurant is really a treat, i feel like it has a wonderful atmosphere and truely shows off the more upscale side of bloomington! many places in bloomington i find it hard to escape the ever so pleasant party life of the college kids just down the block, but with uptown's higher prices and formal status, you typically illude them for a typically older crowd of people, or at least people that are there for agreatsit-down dinner, not a quick in and out place to grab a beer and some pizza. if you are in bloomington please, try uptown's, you will be thoroughly impressed!

fivestar. the atmosphere isgreatand the location is by lots of neat places by the square. it has been there for ever and the food is tops. you won't regret eating here. make sure you ask to see the management if you are not happy and they will make it right, but most likely you should see the management to compliment them on an excellent meal, they will appreciate that. you will make it a regular stop ever time you get to "b" town.greatplace.greatpeople.

some of my favorite things are at the uptown... the black bean burrito, the pot roast, the gumbo (though not the seafood gumbo as the catfish in it is always unpleasant). i don't get breakfast there as it is always mediocre at best. their weeknight specials are agreatdeal, especially if you're downtown for a show. the staff is wonderful, very professional.

used to be a good restaurant. i used to love michael's uptown cafe when i was a student in town. recently my two last experiences there have kept me far away from the place. we had out of town guests for breakfast and both times the place was very disappointing. i ordered the salmon and bagels, and the salmon was dried out on the edges, and the red onion was translucent and wilted. it was the most disgusting thing i had seen and actually sent it back. my guests were not pleased with their dishes either. a disappointing place because it used to be agreatplace. i even had my graduation dinner there years ago!
