awesome breakfast spot.service is pretty much always great and the bartenders are awesome.the servers are allgoodand they have a lot of seating for the restaurant.breakfast is good. definitely recommend their home fries. dinners here have been alright.

visited uptown as a recommendation from a friend and i'm far from disappointed. this has become my go to place in bloomington for amazing pasta! their lemon pepper chicken is prettygoodtoo!

i love this place. i just enjoyed a verygoodlunch at the uptown. i had a dish with basil pesto and pecans. it was very well seasoned. everything was just right. my husband was happy with his cajun meatloaf served with the (optional) carrots and asparagus. my daughter and i also enjoyed the chocolate mousse dessert. also served well, tasted great. i don't go there often enough. for cajun food in this area - it's the best.

verygoodbreakfast experience. when i think of breakfast in bloomington over the years since graduate school, i think of the uptown's popeye omelet and michael's home fries. the omelet is a wonderful combination of spinach, cheese, bacon. the home fries are spiced and mixed with onions and mushrooms. there is a great selection of jams to go with the hearty bread. the waitstaff has been consistently fast and attentive in the thirteen years that i have been coming. the renovated space is much more open and appealing. love it!

thumbs up for uptown. this is a fine dining establishment but the prices don't show that. it is classy, clean.... immaculate to be honest. the wait staff is top notch as is the food. i was referred by a friend and not disappointed. i started out with a creamy poblano and potato soup which was delicious (sorry i don't have any greater adjectives). i had some local morrel mushrooms lightly breaded and seasoned cajun style (also amazing). i had the ararat chicken pita which wasgood( i normally don't order chicken but i needed something light and didn't feel like a salad.) the selection of beers on tap was decent and they have an extensive wine selection i would have love to have gotten into had i had the time

i like it but.... uptown is a beautiful restaurant that is almost always bustling. it is especially busy on weekends around brunch time. in general, my experiences have been either verygoodwith verygoodservice. or, just okay, with mediocre service.

the last time i went the waitress seemed to forget us and our toast, which we ordered as an extra, was cold and soggy. how can you ruin toast?

used to be agoodrestaurant. i used to love michael's uptown cafe when i was a student in town. recently my two last experiences there have kept me far away from the place. we had out of town guests for breakfast and both times the place was very disappointing. i ordered the salmon and bagels, and the salmon was dried out on the edges, and the red onion was translucent and wilted. it was the most disgusting thing i had seen and actually sent it back. my guests were not pleased with their dishes either. a disappointing place because it used to be a great place. i even had my graduation dinner there years ago!
