awesomebreakfastspot.service is pretty much always great and the bartenders are awesome.the servers are all good and they have a lot of seating for the restaurant.breakfast is good. definitely recommend their home fries. dinners here have been alright.

enjoyed our meal. my wife and i both had the evening dinner special of crab cakes $32. the cakes were 100 % crab served on a bed of spinach andbreakfastpotatoes. i was disappointed with the restaurant's choice of potatoes. they were the same type of potatoes that i order with my morning omelette. i felt i was having breakfast. i think the diner should be informed about a choice of potato. the chef needs to up his game concerning this meal.

awesomebreakfastspot. has a vintage 30's feel to the place. i had the eggs and bacon breakfast. my wife ordered the french toast, which was absolutely delicious!
we will definitely come back next time in bloomington.

i have eaten here multiple times, and each time it has been a great experience.breakfastis good. definitely recommend their home fries. dinners here have been alright. the dinner food is definitely good, but i am not blown away. the bar and the bartenders are really nice. it's never overcrowded. definitely my go to place in bloomington.

crème brûlée french toast. the bestbreakfastdish i think i've ever eaten. i travel all over for work, and this place in the middle of nowhere indiana will stand out in my memory for awhile.

i have enjoyed many delicious breakfasts here over the years, but only recently joined them for dinner. sadly, it wasn't a great experience. we had the shrimp/grits and louisiana pepper chicken - both recommended by the staff. perhaps our expectations were too high but neither of us enjoyed our dinner - not much flavor.

we will continue to visit forbreakfastwhen we're in town.

so delicious. one of the best in bloomington. i love that the menu is small with rotating specials but is still diverse in selection and price. thebreakfastmenu is amazing- corn meal pancakes,breakfastspecial, creme brûlée french toast- all incredible. not to mention awesome bar and hot bartenders. only complaint is i wish they had different chairs!

very goodbreakfastexperience. when i think ofbreakfastin bloomington over the years since graduate school, i think of the uptown's popeye omelet and michael's home fries. the omelet is a wonderful combination of spinach, cheese, bacon. the home fries are spiced and mixed with onions and mushrooms. there is a great selection of jams to go with the hearty bread. the waitstaff has been consistently fast and attentive in the thirteen years that i have been coming. the renovated space is much more open and appealing. love it!

some of my favorite things are at the uptown... the black bean burrito, the pot roast, the gumbo (though not the seafood gumbo as the catfish in it is always unpleasant). i don't getbreakfastthere as it is always mediocre at best. their weeknight specials are a great deal, especially if you're downtown for a show. the staff is wonderful, very professional.

used to be a good restaurant. i used to love michael's uptown cafe when i was a student in town. recently my two last experiences there have kept me far away from the place. we had out of town guests forbreakfastand both times the place was very disappointing. i ordered the salmon and bagels, and the salmon was dried out on the edges, and the red onion was translucent and wilted. it was the most disgusting thing i had seen and actually sent it back. my guests were not pleased with their dishes either. a disappointing place because it used to be a great place. i even had my graduation dinner there years ago!

michael's uptown cafe is amazing. best food in bloomington by far. i often find other restaurants trying copy menu items from the uptown but they don't compare. if you want great food and service. go to uptown. bestbreakfasti've ever had too.
