i thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at twenty tap which took place right before their devastating fire. the braised beef grilled cheese sandwich was outstanding, as was the pimento mac & cheese appetizer that i couldn't pass up. the beer selection was very good and features not only some of twenty below's nano-brewery beers, but local and regional beers that are brewed by friends of owner kevin matalucci. the atmosphere was laid back and casual. this was a place that i thought i could go to on a regular basis if i lived in indianapolis. good beer and goodfoodin a great atmosphere is a winning combination for twenty tap.  glad to see that they're back open.

great beer but.... my wife and i ventured out to twenty tap one saturday afternoon. having drove past it many times before, and having heard many good things about the bar via friends, and online reviews.

the beer selection was great! my wife and i both love craft beer, and the local selection is second to none. thefoodwas wonderful, we had the pretzels and added the beer cheese, and split a turkey burger. both of which are very good, and worth a try, although i will say the fries (which are more than likely vegan fried) are tasteless unless you are a vegan.

what turned my wife and i away from coming back was the service. we started out with a great brunette female bartender (unfortunately i did not get her name) that knew her beer, and was very pleasant and insightful on the menu. she even recommended thefoodto us. then there was a shift change, and that was where it all went south. a young redhead female took over behind bar. she was rude, and pretty much ignored my wife and i along with another couple sitting next to us. we felt as if we were not the crowd she wanted at her bar, because a two couples came in that looked like "hipsters", and she was attentive to both of those couples. my wife and i felt that we needed tattoos, piercings, and skinny jeans in order to get service from this young lady. young lady also snatched away want looked to be empty glasses, and forcefully put them into the bar sink. we also witnessed 2 employees drinking beers while working.

so if your not a 21-something college student or recent grad don't bother.

indy's craft beer destination.... ...and theirfoodis incredible, too.

you'll be hard-pressed to find a better selection of all sorts of craft beer in indianapolis. they rotate their 38 taps regularly, and they have something for all tastes. i normally like higher abv beers so it's hard for me to find a good selection of the strong stuff...but twenty tap always has something that peaks my interest.

their service is almost always very friendly and helpful, even at times when they get slammed-busy (which is often). the small size of the place really makes you feel like a sardine stuffed into a tin at times, but it's a small price to pay to experience the absolute best craft beer bar in the city. if there's a better one i'd like to see it.

thefoodis reasonably priced for the quality you get, too. try the wake-up burger.

didn't have dinner, but . . .. did stop in for a couple of beers. thus, i can't really speak as to the menu and food/service quality, but can say that they have a very nice selection of beers (actually more than twenty on tap).

i can say they were busy enough that my guess is that they have some goodfoodand will probably stop in sometime in the future to try out the food.

that's all, short & sweet.

impressive. i have to say that i was really impressed when i ate here. if the weather is nice i suggest sitting outside. that was the only downfall here is if you're inside it seemed like the tables were practically on top of each other! the beer list is really great and thefoodall sounded delicious. we went with splitting the tex burger and the pulled pork melt, and split a side of fries with horseradish aoli and the simple side salad. the pulled pork melt was fantastically delicious. the homemade bbq sauce was the perfect amount of smoky and sweet and the cheddar cheese and red onions added a nice touch. the burger was cooked perfectly and was still juicy. the smoked provolone and carmelized onions and bbq sauce again were the perfect compliments to this burger...nicely done! the fries were also great...and the horseradish aoli was the perfect balance of flavor/spice as well. we did sit outside and we had great service...she knew enough about the beers to answer our questions and did a great job. overall this was a great experience was great and we will definitely be back to try more items off the menu!

simple and to the point. this little pub and restaurant hit the mark with my date and i last wednesday. great, simplefoodthat was well prepared and at a price point that made it well worth it. the bartender and chef were approachable and offered up great suggestions for bothfoodand drink. the burger i had was perfectly cooked without too much pretension and the fries were some of the best i've had in a long while. the mac and cheese was spicy and creamy and the cuban sandwich was spot on with its porky goodness and acidic pickles. keep it up! i'll be sure to go back again.
