the best. my girlfriends and i were staying on sanibel and we dined at traders. the seafood special is the best ever........ribs are great. attentive servers, great bread and dipping oil. next friday i get to go to traders again, what a treat!!!

the crab cakes are the best on the islands. it's worth just going there to eat those if you don't want to pay for the expensive entrées.

we also had farrah as our server and she was great making good recommendations. i had the filet mignon and my wife had the seabass and we shared the stuffed mushroom app. all was great (we await the molten lava cake but i'm confident it will be fantastic. for our 25th anniversary we couldn't have chosen better.

my husband and i both loved our meals. he ordered the horseradish encrusted salmon and i ordered the parmesan encrusted chicken breast. both were fantastic! we ended out meal with a molten lava cake, which was heavenly. our server, farrah, was very attentive and took very good care of us. i would highly recommend this restaurant, but plan on spending a lot of money, as they are pretty expensive.

island fare. our family of 6 ate at traders on our second night in sanibel. wish i had written this review that night, because the details of the grouper (one of the specials that night) escape me today. what i do remember is a nice evening out with very good service, very fresh ingredients; well prepared, nicely plated fish with a good balance of flavors. it was an overall good evening. the live entertainment was tucked away by the bar - my only recommendation would be to bring the music to the whole restaurant (why provide a live entertainer if he/she can only be heard within a 3 table radius?). we will definitely make this a part of the vacation-rotation next year!

food very good, service so so. the veal meatloaf and the scallops were delicious. the service was not. ate in bar area as no reservation available for two until after 8:30. the bread plate was "dropped off. our server was also the bartender so we got divided attention. one of our dinners was served but the other was not due to a "mix up" in the kitchen! unforgivable! opted for no desert, requested coffees which were also "dropped off" with no spoons to stir. after interrupting a hostess for spoons, we got one!

yummy. the best meal we have had on sanibel. the waiter ramon was great and attentive. i ordered the half and half oysters (rockafellar and casino) they were cooked perfectly and very tasty. for a main i indulged in the gulf shrimp with angelhair. it was very good and far past anything called the same. also eaten at the table was the gumbo and a grilled grouper sandwich all were liked. we were there for lunch and the price although high in the real world, commensurate with sanibel.

farah our server was a delight and the rest of our experience was excellent as well. finally a restaurant who gets the merging of talent and passion. the pan seared scallops were cooked to perfection as was the risotto. my husband had the special chilean sea bass which was equally tasty unlike other island establishments (blue giraffe, lazy flamingo) traders takes pride in every dish. we will be back and let the word out to all who visit this beautiful island

the best!. simply the best meal we had on the island. the menu was imaginative and fresh, the ambiance was elegant yet comfortable and the food delicious. the high point of the night was the service from chris, our server, kathy, the hostess and a magical evening of live music from a special piano man also named chris. trader's is a don't miss!!

wonderful lunch. what a nice surprise this restaurant was! the entire staff was friendly and helpful. i am allergic to pine nuts, so i asked if i could have my order without pesto. these nice people accommodated my request, and then were concerned enough to inquire abou the pecans on my greens. we even did a little shopping in the store.

a terrific place to eat! seafood selections were scrumptious (we had the sea bass and red snapper). if i had more room, i would have ordered the macadamia grouper as well! i just wish there was a place to eat outside....but inside was very nice and tables were spaced generously so you weren't rubbing elbows. this is a definite stop during your sanibel vacation!

by far the best meal i have ever had on the island. the menu is full of great options that make it difficult to decide what to get. awesome atmosphere, service, and food.
