tiger trail - royal orchid metropole

a very nice hotel in big palace. we went for dinner at tiger trail, ambience was very nice. food was not that much good according to cost. and theservicewas very slow. overall experience was good. must try once.

beautiful british architecture with great indian food. good food, better ambience and goodservice(unlike some of the previous reviews i found theservicefast and good). mutton biriyani and achari chicken kebab were great ( i hope they still are). it's a place one should dine in when in mysore.
note: here you should always opt for indian food.

the place is beautiful, butserviceis very bad. they do no heed to the customer's need, we waited for over 30 mins and they didn't even serve water after assigning the table.

had our breakfast here and were happy with the buffet spread. made to order dosa and uthappam are good. the egg stand also makes good omelette and scrambled eggs.serviceis good

it has very unique kind of charm ,i had been twice ,buffet lunch is best,serviceis extremely good, they have both indoor and outdoor seating. at night it looks more charm with the lightnings, open cool breeze with candle light and good food at the table what more can you expect ,
what amazes is live counter of food for lunch .. the quality of food is excellent,overall indeed good food and great ambiance

great place. went here for a team lunch.. the buffet has good options available for both veg nonveg and also for deserts.. the hotel has a royal look.. the ambience is very nice..serviceis good..

the food is good, but quantity is very less for the price they charge. they charged us 18% gst, where everyone are charging 5% gst. that is day light robbery. when confronted, he said we were wrong. customerserviceis awful. theserviceis very very slow. they really need to improve on that. one very good thing about this restuarant is the ambience.

i really enjoyed the ambience here in metropole. however the food wasn't up to the mark. chicken was cold and sweets weren't fresh. theservicewas good enough.

have been a regular to this place since its reopening in 2004.
the food has almost been tasting the same and consistent. to compliment great food theserviceis also equivalently great.
i have to thank the entire restaurant team for taking such good care of me and my guests.
the ambience, quality of food andserviceis one of the best obe can get in the town.

the decor is regal and replete with heritage furniture that is both functional and classy.  
theserviceis impeccable and the staff is extremely courteous. they go the extra mile to ensure that you have a great experience while enjoying your meal.
the spread at the breakfast is vast and offers english as well as indian options.  the salads are wonderful and so is the mysore masala dosa and filter coffee.
the lunch buffet too offers a sumptuous fare including north indian, south indian, asian and continental options.  the desserts are simply delectable! dinner is à la carte and the ambience is wonderful and relaxing where one can unwind over a lovely meal.

wonderful ambience, greatserviceand delectable food. plenty of choice and very conveniently located in the centre of mysore city.
also staff is very courteous.

the heritage buffet experience of mysuru. as many as 40varieties of foods in the buffet menu. definitely try the foods and they are good but not out of the world.serviceis excellent and so is the hotel.

this beautiful courtyart dining under the peaceful skies and perfect weather of musore is amazing!!! the hotel itself transports you to anotger era of time which makes this my favorite spots in serene mysore. also i have had alot of wonderful memories here with friends so it is irreplaceable!serviceis so friendly and the food is tasty. the curries are well balanced and the tandoori is well executed. prices are fair considering your in 1 of the best hotels in the city. my partner in crime at this piece of time use to swear by the fresh off the menu grape juice in a champagne glass! give it a try if you can get the bartender to make it ;-)

went there for lunch buffet today. 

this restaurant is a part of the royal orchid hotel. just like the name suggests, it has a great deal of royal touch to it. they have a huge dining space (in and outside the hall) and all the places were very decently decorated with a royal feel to everything. although within the hall, the seating was a bit congested but it worked out somehow. 

theservicewas quick - when i say service, i mean the servers who refilled the items in the serving boxes, replaced the dinnerware and brought to the table something that was asked for. the were no doubt courteous and friendly. 

i would say the food was average. i expected a lot more from it and had heard a lot about this restaurant, which did increase my expectations a lot. a few things for sure were good, in fact exceptional namely noodles and vegetables in hot sauce and mutton biryani. saag and  dal tadka was good too.

i particularly liked the cream of spinach soup. it had a very fresh flavour. the desserts were again good - the best combo being gulab jamun and ice cream. malai jhim jhim, mango moose, chocolate cake were all good!

they had a stall for chats - pani puri and papdi chat. that was something not every place has.

felt stupid and gullible for falling for the high rating on zomato and eating here. the food was way below par. the lunch buffet sucks and is a total piece of overpriced faeces. their audacity to charge that price for the kind of food they serve got on my nerves. this is no knee jerk review, i type this a week later, a conscious effort i made cos i do feel for business owners who probably meant else. mind you, not saying the food was unpalatable, just really mundane cheap run of the mill stuff you could have eaten anywhere, for which, the price they charge feels ridiculous. top that off with pushyserviceby interns who don't have the slightest clue on the grander picture the hotel's really selling. mediocre food with below parservicecan make for a really annoying waste of life. don't go here if you cannot afford that kind of time trashing. i certainly won't again. if yer already there and reading this a lil too late, don't even touch that preservative laden horse shit from the last century they call sea food.
