ambience is nice. ull love the royal feel and the old instruments, swing and the old style lamps etc etc. but the people at therestaurantalso behave like they r very old. they dont bother much to do fast service. had to wait for one hour just to get my order of main course. spent 3 hours to have my dinner. all of us lost our appetite just because of the long waiting period. they have not improved even after getting so many negative reviews about the slow service.

an excellentrestaurantwithin royal orchid metropole, tiger trail is a multicuisinerestaurantserving some delectable specialities.
the decor is regal and replete with heritage furniture that is both functional and classy.
the service is impeccable and the staff is extremely courteous. they go the extra mile to ensure that you have a great experience while enjoying your meal.
the spread at the breakfast is vast and offers english as well as indian options.  the salads are wonderful and so is the mysore masala dosa and filter coffee.
the lunch buffet too offers a sumptuous fare including north indian, south indian, asian and continental options.  the desserts are simply delectable! dinner is à la carte and the ambience is wonderful and relaxing where one can unwind over a lovely meal.

how to get here well just ask for directions to metropole circle, its on the way to railway station.

therestaurantdecor is classic style with wooden flooring ad high ceiling . the eye catching part is the wine collection and a silver

the food is one of the excellent you can have in mysore, the staff are very friendly .

rather going for a lunch buffet it is suggested to check in for dinner as you can feel the ambiance of the place and can try some of the aesthetic menu.

we went to mysore for a weekend trip from bangalore. heard good reviews of this place. we landed at the royal orchid metropole by 5 pm when they were not serving dinner. so we sat in the coffee shop and ate a pizza.pizza review - it was a 4 slice thick crust pizza for around 690 bucks. we liked the pizza but not the serving portion. until we finished that, therestauranttiger trails opened up and soon it was filled with families coming there to eat out.the ambience of the place is really nice, but not the food and worst of all, their service.we ordered a chicken stroganoff and chicken breast in mushroom sauce.the chicken breasts were not well cooked and lacked sauces.the stroganoff sauce was too creamy and light to act as gravy for the rice.we asked for small portions of the sauces on the side. it never came. even after 1.5 hours.i'd say, when in mysore, try the local outlets.

food: 3/5
ambience: 3.5/5
service: 3.5/5

went there for lunch buffet today.

thisrestaurantis a part of the royal orchid hotel. just like the name suggests, it has a great deal of royal touch to it. they have a huge dining space (in and outside the hall) and all the places were very decently decorated with a royal feel to everything. although within the hall, the seating was a bit congested but it worked out somehow.

the service was quick - when i say service, i mean the servers who refilled the items in the serving boxes, replaced the dinnerware and brought to the table something that was asked for. the were no doubt courteous and friendly.

i would say the food was average. i expected a lot more from it and had heard a lot about this restaurant, which did increase my expectations a lot. a few things for sure were good, in fact exceptional namely noodles and vegetables in hot sauce and mutton biryani. saag and  dal tadka was good too.

i particularly liked the cream of spinach soup. it had a very fresh flavour. the desserts were again good - the best combo being gulab jamun and ice cream. malai jhim jhim, mango moose, chocolate cake were all good!

they had a stall for chats - pani puri and papdi chat. that was something not every place has.

this place is located in the heart of city on the busy jlb road. its a few mins walk from the railway station.

when you enter this place, it feels like you are in some palace. had been to the lunch buffet around 2.30 in the afternoon and the mainrestaurantwas full and hence got an outdoor seat.

the buffet spread was vast, of which the highlight was the fish goujons. didnt try out the veg dishes. had to remind several times for the waiters to get me water.

the wooden floors in therestaurantnear the dishes kept are uneven and hence had to be a little careful. they somehow need to fix that.

coming to deserts, the gulab jamoon was super yummy, but the vanilla icecream kept on ice cubes was almost melted and hence did not enjoy it.

overall it was a pretty average experience

our visit to mysore from bangalore felt complete after a scrumptious lunch buffet in this palatialrestaurantin royal orchard hotel. perfect place to relax especially after a tiring day of sight-seeing and shopping. all the items in the buffet were delicious. the badam halwa in particular was intoxicating!
the staff was alert and friendly.
the best part of thisrestaurant: it's in the heart of the city, very close to the mysore palace, has plenty of parking space.
lastly, it's a little heavy on your pocket..but what's a few extra bucks when you're on a holiday right? ;) it's definitely worth it. will recommend to everyone.

metropole / hotel royal orchid / tiger trail is arestaurantquiet popular with the locals and one of mine friend suggested me to visit it while i was in mysore.

therestaurantand hotel is housed in an heritage building belonging to the royal family of mysore and is leased out to the royal orchid group. inspite of been located in the city centre, the place is clam and pleasant.

since we went out for a lunch buffet, the food was served within therestaurantand in the lounge area. (i have heard from my friends that the dinner is served in the lounge area with very good lighting arrangements). the lounge is surrounded by plenty of greenery and provides the much needed fresh supply of air (sic).

the lunch buffet is diverse and includes sprouts, salads, hyderabadi chicken dum biryani, tomato rasam, kal dal, white basmati rice, chicken curry, mutton curry, puluv, pasta, mint noodles, 4 sabzi variety, ice creams, cheese cake, chocolate brownie, fruit salad, few indian sweets (names of which i forgot).

in the end, we also had the opportunity to visit some of the suite at royal orchid hotels.

the price tag is towards the higher end, but once in a while you can treat yourself.

this is one of the classiest places to dine in mysore.

thisrestaurantis a part of the metropole hotel which is in an old palace. the building is a piece of beauty, and it really lives up to the heart and soul of mysore.

you have an option to sit in a really big hall, which would remind you of the grand palace dining rooms you would see in movies, or, you could sit out, feeling the day's weather, which is a great option, owing to the view of the building and a nice tree which is lit beautifully. the bricks laid in design as the flooring here adds to the rustic appeal of the place.

the service is formal and what you would expect from this place.

the food is very good. they have certain unique dishes which, originally were only available here, but, other places started copying them in time.

they used to serve water infused lightly with lime and mint leaves before. i didn't get that the last few times i went here. that probably could be because they don't force that on the customer, and may be available on request. but, i used to love it.

also, they used to make chicken tikka biryani which i used to die for. but, they don't have that anymore, and they make it on special request, at times.

this place is one among the top 10 costliest places to dine in, definitely. and, i always felt it was worth the price.

i have never come disappointed after dining here. though, i would like to see a more courteous and smiling service by the people here. but, that isn't a big deal.

i definitely suggest this place if you're up for lightening your pocket significantly.

i happened to read about this hotel on trip advisor, sounded good enough so i made a booking for 2 nights and 3 days.

you will pass by thisrestauranton your way to the rooms. looks neat and classy. good decor and furnishings!

the food is superlative though, way beyond ordinary! during my stay i ordered the following and none of them disappointed us - a fish mains (with lemon butter sauce i think), paneer shaslik, singapore sling, fosters, lots of filter coffee during the evening, veg soft noodles and a wonderful customised fish gravy dish (chinese style with veggies and white sauce)

the service is impeccable. very attentive, kind and non intrusive but yet making you feel at ease!!
