mixed bag. this experience at stockyards was definitely a mixed bag for me. i had heard about it on the food network's ddd so on a visit to see my family in toronto i insisted on hauling them all the way across town in brutal traffic because i thought it would be a fun, lively place to eat. lesson learned. while we all enjoyed the generous portions of food that we ordered i.e. (fried chicken, brisket sandwich, burgers, fries, etc.) it was unfortunately overshadowed by the lack of air conditioning and employees who seemed completely stressed out, over worked and totally annoyed with their customers. we felt really awkward and ended up scarfing our meals down quickly just to get out of the hostile environment. they clearly have great food which is why i gave it a 'like' (and know how to cook it) but at the end of the day, you have to treat your customers properly irregardless of how you feel. i have since noticed that stockyards is closed until july 25th so hopefully this means that the owner is installing ac for his staff and possibly doing a little re-training on customer service. i'm not sure if it's even legal these days for employees to work without ac???
