oooooh that's some good chicken! tried the chicken and waffles and with a line out the door on a chilly toronto day you know this place got something tasty. loved the flavours and the mess! juicy chicken on point. will definitely run back for a burger next time!

one of the best food spots in toronto. i literally eat here or grab takeout from here every single time i'm in the neighborhood. it's that good.

it's always busy here. it's a small place with bar stools. no tables. you can order take out as well. you'll wait awhile to find a seat and wait again for the food but believe me it's worth the wait. they even have stools right in front of the kitchen so you can watch the chefs. everything on the menu is good. if you want chicken & waffles, it's only avail until 3pm.

oh they're also closed on mondays

came here on a visit to toronto after seeing a special on diners, drive ins and dives on the food network. i got there in the early evening and had to wait a little bit for a table but it was well worth it! i had the brisket and my boyfriend had the bat (a twist on a blt but with arugula instead of lettuce and a fried green tomato). everything was absolutely amazing and delicious! i highly recommend getting there early to avoid a line. you can also call ahead and pick up your order, as i saw many locals doing. anything you order will be good and you will leave feeling happy and satisfied!

lived up to the hype. we (2 of us) came here on sunday morning around 2:00 and we waited a bit for a table but you need to keep in mind: this is not a sit down restaurant, this is a very popular place with limited so be prepared to wait a bit or do takeout and stop crying about the seating. if you come with more than 2 ppl, it will be way harder as well.
we got the fried chicken dinner, love the chicken, perfectly juicy and crisp and the fries were really good as well. the coleslaw had a nice dressing as well. one idea that may take this over the top is if they create some type of spicy aioli to dip the chicken in.
also got the dirty bird, so good i liked the gravy and the bacon. this placed lived up to the hyper and showed us the reasons so many ppl talk about it and recommend it. yummm

tear down the wall. can't blame a place for being too packed or busy i guess but it's the one thing pretty much everyone complains about as well as the staggered bbq menu days
people come for ribs and smoked chicken on the odd days and looking really pissed off when they were informed that they were sold out or not on the menu that day. actually happened to me and my brother 2 years ago when they ran out of ribs but we murdered the rest of the menu.
i honestly think they thought we were critics cuz they gave us a free bigmac style burger cut in half to share. (it was the only thing we didn't actually order) all of the food was very good and the cooks were very confident and banged out 50 covers in front of us while we feasted. i have my own smokers and charcoal bbqs and know good bbq
they use a lot of smoke on the meat and some might find it strong because its not slathered in sauce but thats what they're going for here. the smoked chicken is my favorite and my bro likes the ribs but try anything cuz it's all done right. and the beautiful brown lady at the front taking orders and expediting and waiting tables and taking calls and etc etc is a freakin machine who doesn't stop moving to keep the wheels turning smith and fast
check it out for sure

they ran out of ribs so we had the rest if the menu pretty much. smoked chicken was perfect, not too smokey. pulled pork had tons of flavour. fried chicken was juicy and had flavour beyond the skin. coke came in glass bottles not fountain swill. no fancy furniture or decor, this place lets the food and friendly service speak for itself and i would go back soon again and often.

the ribs ain't slows but they may be as close you'll find in toronto. smoked chicken is off the hook, always juicy and flavourful - you'll be smelling smoke on your fingers for hours after you've ripped apart that bird. and the burgers are simple, sloppy, and sumptuous. stockyards will stick to ya ribs!

my bf and i both ordered the fried chicken dinner and they came out pretty fast. the pieces of chicken were huge and they had a nice golden brown crust. the skin and the batter were super crispy on the outside and the meat was very juicy and tender on the inside. the flavour kind of reminded me of kfc (which i like) but obviously better quality. we loved it! the only thing i didn't really like were the fries. they were really hard and tough to chew, maybe from too much frying? my boyfriend said it felt like being stabbed in the mouth lol. the coleslaw tasted great and i liked how the celery seed flavour was strong, balancing the greasiness from the chicken and fries.

overall, we really enjoyed our meal and cannot wait to come back to try their other menu items such as the ribs. i recommend this place to those looking for a tasty fried chicken restaurant because for the price of $15 it's worth it considering how big the pieces of chicken are!

i've been wanting to try stockyards' fried chicken for the longest time and so last saturday my boyfriend and i went there for lunch. we were worried that we wouldn't be able to find parking... 4 pieces of buttermilk marinated chicken served with fries, coleslaw and hot sauce. we both ordered the fried chicken dinner and they came out pretty fast. the pieces of chicken were huge and they had a nice golden brown crust. the skin and the batter were super crispy on the outside and the meat was very juicy and tender on the inside.

love this place! it's my new neighbourhood haunt.

have been more than a few times for the excellent burgers but this was my first time trying their brunch.

it was not over rated!  i had their chicken and waffles. the chicken was tender and crispy and not dry! bonus points for the wicked sweet chilli syrup. that stuff is amazing.

staff are friendly however sunday brunch is almost always busy so if you want to grab a seat, make sure to go early. we showed up at 10:30 and still had to wait about 20 minutes to get seating.  if you can have a seat at the bar facing the kitchen and you can see everyone's meals being made.

don’t miss out on big portions, delicious dishes and great service.
and don’t you dare miss out on chicken & waffles!

the place is the best!!! a mere 5 rating does not do this place justice. i totally lost my shit when my order of fried chicken and waffles was served, the chicken was crispy and every bite was juicy. every single thing on their menu is heavenly, the pulled pork sandwich is a must try as well.
stockyards recently took part in the zomato "achin 4 bacon" and no disappointments here as well, they dished out a well presented unique bacon ramen with quail egg and looked and tasted great.

the stockyards sunday brunch don’t miss out on big portions, delicious dishes and great service. and don’t you dare miss out on chicken & waffles! we’ve been for dinner to neighbourhood darling, the stockyards , more times that we’d like to admit (considering we only moved down the street a few months ago.) while the burgers were mouthwateringly good, we knew we had to get in here for sunday brunch and their famed chicken and waffles. we had heard many a good thing about it and so we dressed in our finest plaid and headed out with @herroyalmelness . we dressed as lumber jacks for brunch — this was, awesomely, not on purpose the place was packed even at 10:30 am on a sunday! pro-brunching tip: make sure to get here early! it’s small place so seating is at a minimum but most importantly – worth the wait! order up! a few delicious dishes being prepared in front of us. we got a seat right at the bar and had great view of everyone’s meals being made. there’s a lot of yummy on this brunch menu but we knew what we wanted right away. chicken and waffles with sweet chili syrup. here are the chicken & waffles in all their glory. perfectly crunchy chicken, huge portions (you could share this between two people and still have leftovers) the thing that made this dish for me was the sweet chilli syrup. it just gave everything a hint of hot spice. just delicious. best fried chicken i’ve had in a while! melissa went with the griddle cakes griddle cakes with lemon butter, syrup and a side of bacon you get a giant pancakes with a side of syrup and some yummy citrus butter. she ordered bacon on the side because bacon and didn’t regret it. i like my bacon crispy and it’s something you don’t often see with thick slab bacon. no worries about that here! perfectly crunchy! i know i’ll be back here again – they are just down the street after all. and i heard a whisper about a new menu item called the dirty bird? i’ll let you in on what that is when i try it myself! here’s to chicken! here’s

bacon ramen - very clever!  had the chance to try this at a foodie event, and was quite pleased.  definitely alluring enough for me to want to visit the restaurant now - i've heard great things about the burger and ribs, so i'm excited to chow down on those!
