i've eaten here twice and had a really good meal both times. the fried oyster sandwich and chicken & waffles were both very tasty. will definitely be coming back.

a big hit or miss. every ti.... a big hit or miss.
i wonder what i'm going to get today...
order the same thing every time but never know what might show up on my plate and wait staff don't seem to know the level of quality for each dish.
expecting more than a cracker barrel, i would assume silver dollar might train their staff to review, but also care about what they are serving. overall, definitely not worth the price.

what service?. the first time i went to the silver dollar i loved it. it's located right down the street from my house and it's an historical building in the heart of clifton where i grew up so it was right up my ally. we ordered fries and onion rings, which were great. service was pretty decent that day. the 2nd time we went, we were seated right away and the hostess brought us glasses of water. 20 minutes later, we were still waiting for our server. workers kept walking past us, looking at us and walking away as if someone else was taking care of us. they were not. we ended up leaving and headed up the street to sol aztecas. boo, silver dollar, boo.

met a friend here on a thursday. we waited about 10 minutes before someone took our drink order. the swinging' door was good, strong but not complaining about that. my friend and i both ordered a burger and fries. we waited an hour for them to come out! my friend got a whole serving of fries and i just got a few, they seemed like an after thought. our waitress was nice but did not handle the situation, of our very slow food, very well. probably will not go back.

it’s not just about the drinks, this restaurant does a lot of different kinds of food, too. it might feel casual, but there’s nothing simple about this menu.

pretty unique place that everyone should try at least once! they have many craft beer options and the food is good. a little pricey for what it is but they have a nice setup/outdoor patio area.

while in louisville for a cousin’s wedding, we spent the day exploring the city, from coffee to tacos to beer to authentic kentucky hot browns and more. of course, the following morning we had to hit up brunch before we left town, and on my cousin taylor’s suggestions, we gathered at the silver dollar. an absolute thumbs up for the silver dollar’s brunch. beautiful space, big range of creative dishes, very attentive service. a must if you’re traveling to louisville.

i've been here a few times and found the atmosphere very nice and a great (even if a bit  pricy) cocktail menu. the bbq sandwich i had was "ok" but honestly there is far better here in louisville so i advise leaving it alone. on my last visit i gave their chicken & waffles a shot and was pleasantly surprised...the chicken breast was nice and crispy but super moist and tasty inside, add that to the perfect waffles and you have a winner.

my wife & i took her son & girlfriend there for sunday brunch. my wife had the breakfast sandwich w/ fried green tomato. which she loved. originally she was disappointed because she wanted their waffle& chicken, but it's not on the brunch menu???? her son had the biscuit& gravy. wow! very tasty & more than a college guy could eat. his girlfriend got the corn pancakes. she said they were like what her grandma made. i had the shrimp& grits. the grits themselves were ordinary but the combo of a wonder sauce, shrimp& bacon really came thru wonderfully. their bloody mary is great & i loved the jalapeño/ onion combo garnish. it's a nice, laid back atmosphere. i love their music selection as well. it ties the food& environment together in a happy, cool, southern charm, laid back kinda vibe.

this place is great. we went for brunch and i thought my shrimp and grits were some of the best i've had. they also have a fantastic bourbon selection. we'll definitely be back

food is amazing and so fresh! we ordered the mussels covered in a blue ranch sauce and topped with truffle friends and the fried catfish with collards. omg i couldn't stop eating. fish batter was perfect, very light. didn't feel heavy eating it. mussels were amazing in the sauce and the truffle fries were a perfect addition. ambience was great, felt like you were in ky with at least a hundred bottles of bourbon on the wall. great experience with amazing service.

a little pricey and some of the people in my party found the menu to be very limited. i had the chicken and waffle and it was amazing. it is a neat little place though and it's a cool atmosphere. great service.

everything i have had had been at least good if not fabulous. my only complaint is that the wait staff gets a little overwhelmed and the service while polite and courteous can be very slow and intermittent. last night i ordered a margarita, a water and a beet and pear salad. water and salad out in 10 minutes but the margarita was almost 15 minutes after that and no one checked in between. i have on other occasions asked for a check because i needed to leave and waited and asked repeatedly for 20 minutes. other than that great place.

we heard about how great this place is and we were not disappointed. so delicious! we had the fried pickles, fish & chips, and fried chicken & waffles. my husband was left wanting more chicken as the piece they gave him was pretty small, it was more waffle than chicken. still very good!
