the silver dollar

i had the barbecue pork sandwich, it was delicious. the pork was tender and the coleslaw on top of the sandwich was just right. what we would like too highly recommend is that you cover your chips in the house-made salsas or ketchup that is brought out to you.

silver dollar. they did a great job renovating the old fire station. if you want to have dinner with friends and talk, this is not the place to go. the music is so loud that we could not carry on a conversation across the table. we went on a week day evening and it was not that crowded but the music is way too loud. the wine menu is extremely limited--only three kinds of white wine--no pinot. if you want a conventional drink that has olives--no can do. my feeling is if you get a full liquor license--have a full service bar.
the potato salad was very good. the baked beans were very dry and hard. the mac/cheese was mostly broiled bread crumbs and very hard to taste the mac/cheese. our server and bartender were very nice. i am hoping some changes can be made so this is a successful place.

chili, brisket, and lone star.. stopped in on a whim the other day (was originally headed to maido). sat and ate at the bar and had a great bowl of chili before settling on the brisket. the chili was just spicy enough and is served with a side plate of cheese, jalapeno, sour cream, etc. house made sauces come withthe meal and include a mole-type sauce that i put on my brisket.

did not see what beer was on tap as i was sitting on the opposite end of the bar and didn't see it on the menu or written down anywhere so ordered a bottle of lone star which hit the spot and of course went well with the chili and brisket.

bar service was great. agree with previous poster on price - maybe the few bucks extra is the price for the you pay for the good music.

service was awful. it was a busy night yes but the hostess told us 30 minutes. after over an hour we were finally seated because we were persistent. our waitress took her time getting to us. and after ordering we were informed half our orders we not available. the food was great it was too bad the service wasn't up to par. not sure how eager i will be to go back. the bar service was flawless however!

a restaurant that has only been opened a week and a half has shown great maturity. the list of signature drinks are a must have. every juice, bitters, and liqueur is made in house. fantastic manhatten. for dinner, wife and i both ordered chicken and waffles. holy $h17. weve never had c&w before, but this has totally set the bar. the chicken was so moist and sweet and the waffles had a complementing crunch. only thing i would change is i have a full waffle and not a half waffle. it was a but noisy but it's an awesome place. eat local and keep louisville weird!!

amazing. went with a pretty big family group and this place blew us away! it was a little loud but the atmosphere, food and service more than make up for it! eric was our server and he was friendly and knew the menu well. he recommended the chicken & waffles, which turned out to be unreal. seriously the whole concept of this place is just too cool to be bad. if you want a comfortable western honky tonk atmosphere with food and service that only compliments the setting, get to the silver dollar asap!!!
