the q on harris has been making quite a buzz for the past few months with it's fusion menu serving asian inspired food. we were first drawn to the cafe by their double matcha cheesecake and decided to drop in for brunch one weekend. the cabinet has a selection of sweet and savory goods, including their famous matcha cheesecake.

i come here after seeing many photos of foodie shared in instagram. if you like matcha japanese green tea, i suggest you try their matcha cheesecake which is the best in the city. it has a cookie crumble base and authentic matcha taste which complements their delicious coffee. will certainly come back just for the delicious matcha cheesecake. yum

located right across from powerhouse museum in ultimo, this place specializes in indonesian coffee as the owner really knows his coffee well and done his own roasting in house that helps in keeping their coffee always freshly served... :)

they also served beautiful food here and i have to admit, beautiful interior as well... more like an industrial design kinda look? :)

all i can say is いただきます.... itadakimasuuuuuuu..... saying grace for this beautiful food is definitely a must.... i mean look at that spread!

// kabuki waffle with free range fried chicken, honey yuzu glaze, savoury waffles, cabbage slaw, shicimi salt, and wasabi mayo dip.... 😍👍🏼🍗🍯 // eggplant & mushroom caponata tartine with burrata cheese, pomodoro sauce, pumpkin crisp, shimeji & button mushrooms, and basil kalamata olive tapenade // matcha cheesecake (this is sahhhhhh good! maybe one of the best we ever tried in sydney) // wash it down with a great indonesian coffee // ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars!)

overall:
happy tummy meter: 4.5 out of 5
happy wallet meter: 3.7 out of 5

been seeing a lot of posts on the oreo matcha cheesecake from q on harris so decided to go there a bit earlier before work to get one for breakfast. it's $10/slice which my colleagues thought were expensive. the cheesecake was nice with a strong matcha flavor and extremely filling. i had to finish the rest for afternoon tea!

cute little cafe with very friendly staff and great service! i have visited twice, first time i had to try their matcha cheesecake and it was good but a bit hyped up in my opinion. the salmon tartine was also quite average to me, but the mushroom tartine and kabuki waffles were amazing!! the second time i tried the scrambled eggs after seeing it so much on instagram and it definitely lives up to the hype, soft and fluffy japanese style. the pandan creme brûlée was also so good, i liked it much better than the cheesecake as it had the sugar crust, pandan flavour and crumbly tart base, simply delicious 😍 the friendly waitress there even remembered me from my first visit!

i am new to the area and in search of something nice anf the q looked interesting on the monday when i walked in..... thats where the joy stopped. there were multiple staff on but no-one willing to take an order as they were busy discussing their weekend exploits.i tried their rueben only to be served a half of a sandwich with little filling at best.

amazing coffee. you must try their pour over's i have been drinking coffee for 20 years and this is the best way i've found. the food is amazing for the price it's the best around. the salads are very good. they also offer gluten free breads. i asked for something once that was not on the menu and they instantly produced it! great place

love this place and it's culture. they make best coffee and they are conviently located near my workplace too down in ultimo. as a result i'm frequently there now. the workers there are also so nice and welcoming. if you get a chance, drop by with mates. also an awesome place to sit back with coffee to chill, relax and catch up with friends and family.

seriously.... look at that egg.... look at it. by far the best scrambled eggs and maple bacon i’ve had in aaaaggggeeesss (and i’m not even a big bacon fan). the bacon is on the sweeter side so goes well with something neutral like the eggs, didn’t need to add salt just some pepper and a side of bacon. the service was also 👍👍👍👍 from the waitress to the barista everybody was very polite and attentive. the chai was nice, not my fave (still love the one at circa) but still enjoyable

i went to this place hearing that they had a matcha cheesecake speciality. they have a small menu, so each dish was unique in its very own way. i ordered the scrambled eggs & caramlised bacon for myself, where my mate ordered the chicken waffles. the food was very delicious! we also ordered all the cakes, which consisted of the pandan and yuzu creme brulee & the matcha cake. the cake was my absolute fav ! very good textures and matcha flavor & loved how the base was oreo flavored. the creme brulees were very nice aswell, with perfect caramalized sugar top.

in-house roasted coffee is a unique blend from indonesia where owner benji hails from. when it comes to weekends be prepared to get there early to avoid disappointment missing out on a table and dishes. the pastrami sold out two hours before closing but i’d happily have something else from the menu as a plan b because they all sound delectable.

i am only commenting on their desserts as i saw photos of their famous matcha cheesecake and i have been craving it ever since.

so today, i got my husband to drive us there so i could finally get to try and i even rang the cafe to reserve two slices for me as i was going to get there near closing time. when i was ordering, i noticed one lonely pandan brûlée tart ($7) so i had to try that too.

we had it after dinner and while the matcha cheesecake is small and my husband complained that it's not worth $10 for the size, i thought the taste was great with a good level of matcha and the chocolate crumb base was perfect. my husband preferred their pandan brûlée tart which i also enjoyed and i would come back to get their desserts again!

also the staff were super friendly too, i must come and try their food as well.
