cute little cafe with very friendlystaffand great service! i have visited twice, first time i had to try their matcha cheesecake and it was good but a bit hyped up in my opinion. the salmon tartine was also quite average to me, but the mushroom tartine and kabuki waffles were amazing!! the second time i tried the scrambled eggs after seeing it so much on instagram and it definitely lives up to the hype, soft and fluffy japanese style. the pandan creme brûlée was also so good, i liked it much better than the cheesecake as it had the sugar crust, pandan flavour and crumbly tart base, simply delicious 😍 the friendly waitress there even remembered me from my first visit!

i am only commenting on their desserts as i saw photos of their famous matcha cheesecake and i have been craving it ever since.

so today, i got my husband to drive us there so i could finally get to try and i even rang the cafe to reserve two slices for me as i was going to get there near closing time. when i was ordering, i noticed one lonely pandan brûlée tart ($7) so i had to try that too.

we had it after dinner and while the matcha cheesecake is small and my husband complained that it's not worth $10 for the size, i thought the taste was great with a good level of matcha and the chocolate crumb base was perfect. my husband preferred their pandan brûlée tart which i also enjoyed and i would come back to get their desserts again!

also thestaffwere super friendly too, i must come and try their food as well.

trekked here on foot on an extremely hot day and boy we were not disappointed! offering different and varied brunch options, we had the chicken waffles and the katsu sandwich, both of which were amazing! perfect portions, addictive flavours and decently priced for cafe food, we were very happy with our time here. not to mention the indulgent matcha cheesecake was definitely a lovely treat and great way to finish of our meal. to top it off, thestaffwere so sweet and you know you’ll be well taken care of when you go here as they provide probably one of the best customer service we have experienced at a cafe or any restaurant for that matter!

dropped in before the first day of uni due to a strong craving for rose shaped scrambled eggs. thestaffwere nice and friendly and the food came fast. food was amazing and the scrambled eggs were soft, runny, and perfectly creamy on top of the japanese soft bread. they were complemented by the sweetness and delightfulmy crispy texture of the side of caramelized bacon. would definitely recommend for any bacon and egg cravings!

as the cafe scene in sydney is on the rise, one must have a distinct identity to attract their customers. surely, this cafe fit the bill. they sell the matcha cheesecake with an oreo base, which i definitely had to try as i love matcha. the cake did not disappoint. i was surprised to taste yuzu on the cake which made it refreshing and light. the waitstaff were highly attentive to the needs of their diners and always had a smile on their faces. this place has that chill vibe where in customers would just want to linger and drink their coffee at a slower pace. they do have more seats at the back as pointed out by thestaffif you are worried about the sitting the capacity.

saw lots of photos of the matcha cheesecake on social media and decided to try this place.
the cake was great, what we didn't expect was that apart from the cheese cake that's already been made, our scrambled egg + bacon and others took more than 50mins to be served.
we were not advised of the time when we ordered and when we asked thestaffabout our food after waiting more than half an hour , they simply told us that we can cancel our order if we don't want to wait and that there are others before us that's still waiting.
we think it's a bit ridiculous but didn't have any other choice as we were hungry and have already been waiting for so long.
then finally the food came and its quite average , definitely not worth the wait.
i don't know if this is what its usually like but i think the shop should definitely improve on the timing.

the room is a little crowded while the decoration is sweet.stafffriendly asked if we need shared plates and if we need the dessert with meal, but nothing was done after our confirmation.

leave the matcha cheese cake together with coffees, as it is a little bit sweet. the smoked salmon is wonderful, and the waffle is a little bit spicy.

contemporary setting, cute little courtyard at the back, staffwere extremely friendly, we ordered a bit of everything and it was devine! felt like a japanese influence on western brunch, with each dish there was an option of sourdough or soft japanese toast. kabuki waffles and salmon tartines stood out the most for us, the kabuki waffles had amazing chicken with waffles and wasabi mayo (was not chili/spicy, you can taste the wasabi but it didn't go up your nose) and the salmon was refreshing. we ended the meal with matcha cheese cake and it was to die for (only if you love cheese and matcha). would definitely come here again!

the q on harris is a great cafe located in sydney cbd. i loved the way the cafe was designed, it had a nice rustic look to it.

service was just amazing, i was welcomed by astaffmember when i entered the cafe and directed to the back section of the cafe. the waitress answered all of my questions and when i asked about the pandan curd she asked the chef to come over in order to explain the way he had made it. the chef gave me an amazing detailed explanation that sounded really scientific; the curd was made over two days!!
i could tell he was so passionate about his cooking which was nice to see. it was also great that he came around and explained it to me.

service time was excellent, coffee and tea came in about 10 minutes; followed by two meals which took about 15minutes. i loved that i could add whatever i wanted to my plate. i had the scrambled eggs with avocado, halloumi, feta, mushrooms and sourdough bread.  this was cooked to perfection and presentation was great as well. portions were very generous. the food was delicious and met expectations.

i also had the very famous matcha cake and a chocolate tart. the matcha cake was amazing! i loved that it had the chocolate layer around it which balanced the bitterness of the matcha. this was the very first time i  had tasted matcha and i am glad that i have tried it. the chocolate tart was very good as well and the popping candy in it was a wonderful surprise.
dessert was presented very well and again the size of the piece of cake was very generous, i think one would be enough for two people especially because of the rich taste.

the cafe itself was presented well and i could see that some ingredients were made in house. the tables were a bit too close to each other. however, this is understandable due to the size of the cafe and it being in sydney cbd. all in all a nice, rustic looking cafe. great for all those insta pics as well ;)

parking can be a bit difficult, i was lucky enough to find street parking 2 minutes away. there are plenty of side streets to park all require a parking ticket though.

had a wonderful time, great service and food. check sydneyfoodfrenzy for my insta pic :)

convenient location near the powerhouse museum, abc and multiple colleges.
this cafe has amazing decor inside and out, i love their front door on the corner! a few quirky characters to the cafe itself andstaffare decent, always up for a conversation.

i've had an iced mocha which was extremely disappointing and plain (not a vienna!), it was quite average though i believe their hot coffees are much better as my friends frequent here.
sadly i'm not a big coffee person so when i had a hot mocha on soy it smelt a little unpleasant but wasn't bad. they have a loyalty rewards program only available on an app (not sure what sadly).
the choice of small foods/snacks are very limited and abit extreme e.g. matcha cake, nutella muesli cake, though the ordinary ham and cheese croissant is luckily on the menu.

their menu looks enticing with japanese and korean influences, i would love to give that a go and think that would be their strength for me :)
