fabulousserviceand food!. just ate here for mother's day lunch and the place was heaving with adults and lots of boisterous little kids the staff were unflappable, friendly and efficient the food was delicious we had pizza, parmas, the coburger and a kids chicken and chips can highly recommend this place to anyone especially if you have kids!

we were a group of four on a friday evening, seven pm. when we arrived the staff were really nice and attentive. we were served well for drinks and our food orders. the food was pretty disappointing. the club sandwich (what do you think of when you hear club sandwich) was a few ingredients between two slices of toast. no layers, not even cut in half. just a square, falling apart, toast with layers. the daily special was trout, no flavour at all. we had to ask 4 times for our plates to be cleared. by 8 pm they were severely understaffed. there were people all over the room trying to get a waiter for service. the staff weren’t bad, there just weren’t enough of them. in that huge room on a friday night i think there were four or five staff. we went out the back to get an after dinner drink. we couldn’t get anyone to serve us at the bar. they have a bar out the back that’s not open at all, even though there’s a full beer garden. i went to the toilet, and there was no toilet paper in any of the toilets. it was only 9pm on a friday night and they were out paper! there wasn’t even a stash you could get for yourself. we used to go regularly to the post office years ago when it first opened. i don’t know how they’ve let it go like this, but we’ll never be back. it’s just not good enough, and there’s so many better options. it’s not hard people!serviceand toilet paper!

boo. theservicehere was great but unfortunately the food was actually quite disappointing.. i had the lamb shoulder which i really didn't like.. i could tell the ingredients were of good quality but the dish wasn't nice.. i'll probably try again at some stage and maybe try a different dish..

we will be returning!. just visited the the post office hotel (the new part next door) with my husband and 2 yr old. the food was top notch,servicefantastic and the ambience - awesome.

we split a pulled pork sandwich and a wagyu burger followed by some very creative desserts (and coffee).

absolutely superb/ reasonable prices.

full of middle age parents with very young kids and toddlers. high chair was supplied and nothing was too much to accommodate our miss.

highly recommend. an excellent addition to coburg.

the food here is nice but way over priced, i think that a good pub meal should be between 15-20 not 25-35 we are in coburg not toorak... knock the prices down and this place would be great. lamb backstrap was ok but not worth $25 my friends had the parma and said it was ok but the plates are an awkward size, not enough room on the plate and salad over powered by onion and chives. def room for improvement.

great atmosphere. went here for fathers day lunch, we all had the roast lamb and all loved it, the flavours were amazing and theservicegreat.
my only complaint is that some chips on the side would have been nice.
def going back for another meal very soon.

probably the worseservicei've had at an establishment in melbourne. the girls that were on had zero care or training, not sure which. it wasn't busy and we recieved little to no service. food was amazing though.

my husband and friends took me to the post office hotel for a surprise birthday dinner. i had been to the pub a few times but this was the first time in the restaurant. we had the mullet cigars and the scallop ravioli followed by the goat, the bisteeya and the chargrilled chicken. it was all just divine. the chicken was moist and flavoured with lots of spices and i think i could eat the rabbit bisteeya with feta cream everyday. everyone loved the goat and the atmosphere andservicewere great. overall a wonderful night. will definately be back.

disappointed in the dining hall!! so much lemon in my truffle & mushroom gnocchi, no pub options bc of "unforeseen circumstances", crapservice& $20 cakage charge. what the f@#k happened to the poh i used to know & love? too big for your boots perhaps...?

i called in here w a mate for a drink. theservicewas nice enough from the bar lady.

i tried a beer called hero which i haven’t seen before and it was tasty. we sat in the beer garden on a sunny day, and there was quite a few people about surprisingly, especially families.

this place has quite a relaxed vibe and plenty of space to find a seat, either inside or out. if your in the area this place is worth a visit.

very disappointed from what this pub used to serve. i would say kitchen staff have changed and you tell when trying food no seasoning and steak that was ordered come out overdone, when asking staff on why steak was overcooked and fries come out cold answer thats what you ordered. poor customerserviceand could of gone to another pub locally and had a better experience. unfortunately these things happen and you learn. stay away.

the hotel had a nice atmosphere when we walked in.

one of the bar staff was friendly and helpful when ordering drinks. the other was quite unfriendly and appeared unhappy to be working.

ordered the chicken parmigiana and fish and chips. theservicewas extraordinary slow and the meals took 56 minutes before they arrived.

the salad was simply mixed lettuce with onion and radish.

the fish and chicken schnitzel was well cooked and pleasant.

imo is overpriced with the pub trying to pass itself off as restaurant quality which it fell short of the mark.

would i dine here again. no!

poor level ofserviceand pricing being the key detractors.

so far, we've been waiting 45 minutes since we ordered. just two meals, a steak and a burger. unfortunately at this point the quality of the food andservicedoesn't come into my rating. especially since i'll hardly be able to make a rational evaluation when i'm this hungry. it's a thursday night, no specials events on or anything. come on, lift your game.

disappointing epicurean experience last week at the post office.  our tradition of celebrating family birthday dinners in the dining hall is always fabulous....but not this time in the pub unfortunately...a lengthy delay in receiving meals, then greeted with 'market fish' that was very salty and kept company on plate only by some grilled cos lettuce (i've since heard cooked lettuce is now a trend but not one i'll following).  it was underwhelming and thenservicethat was channeling basil fawlty, blaming us for not liking the food. to be fair, drinks were not charged but the experience left a bad taste in the mouth.

we came here for a quick saturday night dinner and it fit the bill perfectly. the schnitzel (both kids and adult) was juicy and succulent - delicious. the sirloin had a lovely chargrilled flavour and was adapted for no onion and garlic without issue.servicewas friendly, helpful and attentive even though there was a big table of about 20 next to us. we'll be back!

this pub couldn't even deliver a decent parma and chips. chips were cold and tasted like they were days old. my pizza came out well before the other main meals so i was finished eating before everyone else had even started. apparently they have two different kitchens - not good enough! all the other meals were underwhelming. although the staff were friendly,serviceoverall was a little lacklustre. when we arrived there wasn't a staff member in sight that was willing to direct us to our table. a poorly managed venue. won't be back for a meal that's for sure.
