the melting pot of savannah

total rip off - and the owner knows!. this place is a total rip off. what used to be a full size plate of dessert suddenly became half the size. furthermore, i order two plates and received half of a full size plate!!! asked the talk to the owner...and with a smirk, he said that is the way it is suppose to be. when inquired about why if we ordered two plates, we only had one of some items.... still a smirk. our bill was $120.00 and what we got for 2 dessert plated ordered was: 2 chips of brownie, 2 bananas, 2 rice krispie treats, 3 bananas, 2 marshmellows and one piece of cheesecake....for 2 plates ordered!!!!!

lots of fun. great place for a special night out. really adds up, so be prepared for that. cheese portion was great and well-proportioned. the spinach-mushroom salad was excellent. the entree was fine, but a little too annoying to track how long to cook everything. the dessert was unbelievable, but can you ever go wrong with a melted pot of chocolate with dippers that are desserts in their own right? gluttonous to the highest degree. next time, i'll pass up the entree and go straight to dessert!

good food, great service.. the food at the melting pot is always known to be good. although you have to plan to walk away with less room in your pocket after every visit, it's the service that drives me back. this is not my first time at a melting pot, but it was the first time i visited the melting pot in savannah georgia. from the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. and i don't mean the fake smile that everyone puts on in the customer service business, i generally felt as if the crew enjoyed me being there. the bartender, amber, made the best drinks while taking in consideration our personal flavor wishes. in depth and friendly questions and communication made our wait (we had chosen not to call ahead and have reserve seating) for our table to be both highly enjoyable and comfortable. our server, marvin, furthered our continual enjoyment by giving us helpful advice on the menu and the area (we informed him that we where visiting and wished to know more about the area). i find that the staff there maintain a professional standard while still managing to bring you an experience that will make you never want to leave, and begging to come back again. 5/5.

best valentines day!!!. perfect valentine's day!! after some confusion with our original reservation getting scheduled accidentally in the wrong day, the owners, management and staff worked very hard to make sure that they accommodated us...especially since every restaurant in town was already booked solid! there was a cancellation in lovers lane and we received the best table all the way in the back. jesse, the manager personally greeted us in the lobby, shook our hands and apologized again for all of the confusion. the ambiance was perfect. we feel like we had the best server in the restaurant (ben). he was very knowledgable of the menu, very friendly and always make sure that we were happy and had everything we needed. the food was amazing and very plentiful!! i cannot thank the staff enough for all of their hard work to fix the error and give us the best valentine's day that we have ever had. jess (manager) checked on us at the end of our evening. they are very personable and professional. we will definitely return to this location.

bad service cannot recommend. i had looked forward to trying this establishment for sometime as my one previous fondue experience had been really good. i finally went last friday and was very disappointed. first let me say the food it self was of high quality and very good. i eat out all the time due to my job and know good from terrible service. the service we received here was really bad. i believe we had a bad server and this does not reflect the overall service of this establishment. service is incredibly important at this type of fondue restaurant, much more so than a traditional place. our server did not explain the ordering process until we made her, made bad recommendations, and completely rushed us through every course. at the end we found out after all her recommendations she had only been working here for just over a month. one would think that with the expense of this place and the importance of the server in a fondue restaurant all of the servers would be well trained and provide excellence service. i did not notify a manager because what were we going to do start over? change servers? it wasn't worth the trouble and i pay for what i receive. i will not be back and cannot recommend this place. for what you would spend here there are many more choices that are much more deserving of your money.

sucks. after three requests for sweetened iced tea, still no sugar. apparently no sugar in the entire restaurant. the 4 course dinner is a joke. 4ounces of cheese for two people? and it was utterly devoid of any taste. then comes the salad - looked like the greens were picked from the bank of a creek. also no choice of salad dressings. main course: who the hell boils steak? any seasonings applied prior to the boiling were washed away, leaving the meat bland and tasteless. serving size was ridiculously small-3 shrimp for two people, 2 slices of sirloin (2 people?), 2 bite sized pieces of tenderloin and something brown with a plastic consistency (teriaki steak maybe?). the food was so bad (who boils steak??????) that we did not stay for the chocolate fondue part. over a hundred dollars for tasteless crap (who boils their own dinner for a c note?). won't ever go back.

so overpriced!. we went here for my bday. so overpriced and the food was average. we had 4 adults and it was $160 per couple with no drinks!! one vist was enough for us. we wont be back not for that price with average food.

very expensive, a bit of a novelty, but it was good. not sure how many times we'll go back; glad to have had the experience though. our waitress was sweet as pie.

come hungry...leave with a full tummy!. my husband and i live in savannah and love fondu, so we were excited to find the melting pot so close to home. we made reservations for a late dinner and night out and had a great experience! all of the staff were so hospitable, especially our waitress who was personable and attentive. the space is very private, cozy, and romantic! each course was delicious, there wasn't anything we didn't enjoy. the dessert was by far the best part of the night, so many yummy options to choose from! the cost is worth the amount and quality of food you get! we will definitely be making more reservations for a date night out!

great romantic time out. pricey but totally worth it. they even took our picture and sealed our taste wine in the bottle to take with us. and military discounts! a must go place to escape and try sumthing new.

made for a fun evening with my husband. but if we do it again, we will go for the cheese appetizer and a dessert - skip the entree. i can braise raw meat in chicken stock at home! glad we experienced the whole meal, but once is enough.

romantic. this is the most romantic restaurant i've ever been to. it is very intimate and cozy feeling. i loved the cheese fondue with the bread and fruit. and the desert was amazing! the entree was very good but if i were to go again i'd skip it, only because of the price. cheese and desert is where it's at! :)

fun night out!!!. my husband and i thoroughly enjoyed the melting pot... the food was good...especially the chocolate dessert! mostly, though the experience was unique and made for such a fun date... i called on a very busy weekend night at about five o'clock not thinking we would even be able to get in that night...and they got us in at 8:15! they were great...our server was quinnie...she was very helpful and attentive! i would definitely go again! oh and be sure to try the red sangria...it was amazing :)

started bad....ended great!. my wife and i, and another couple went to the melting pot recently on a saturday night. i originally made reservations on friday and requested that we have a table with two burners. i was told that they would do their best to accomodate our request, but that they could not promise me anything. they acted like they would be doing me a favor if they provided me with this request. i was told that the two burner tables were for parties of five or more. i explained to them that both couples eat different cheeses and use different cooking styles, thus requiring the two burners. i was amazed that i was even having to have this conversation, due to the fact that i have eaten at melting pots in a half a dozen other cities, and never had to have this discussion. needless to say, i arrived on saturday night with a bad taste in my mouth. my wife reminded the hostess of our request and she was very polite and immediately sat us at a two burner table near the bar. our server arrived at the table immediately to take our drink orders, and everything was exceptional from there on out.

loved it!. my husband and i visited the melting pot to celebrate our birthdays. the food and atmosphere were fabulous and the service was excellent. we were sat at a private booth that provided for a romantic, intimate dining experience. our waitress was very knowledgeable and explained the cooking times, etc in great detail. one of the co-owners even stopped to check on our meal and service. this was one of the best meals we have eaten! everything from the salad to the meats to the chocolate was fabulous! highly recommend to everyone!
