the fountain on locust

came here for the first time a week ago for lunch and loved the atmosphere. the food was great and reasonably priced. i need to come back and enjoy their famous ice cream!

the decor alone is worth the trip. the exuberant art deco decor is carried out with great aplomb and meticulous detail. it is a joy to be within the premises (even the restrooms!). our lunch was good. the house special soup (with dill pickle) was worth trying. my roast beef sandwich was good but perhaps could have used a little zip--maybe a horseradish spread on the side.
great value. the small hot fudge sundae with whole pecans was just perfect in size and flavor. i enjoyed my visit here.

that soup tho. grandma suggested i go there so we went together. delicious meatball sammich. she got a vegan soup, i got the mexican tortilla soup. her, being allergic to beans couldn't eat the vegan soup so we traded, both were very very good, props to this place. cute inside, not expensive, had a great waiter.

this place was a welcome highlight of my week! with a wonderful atmosphere of vintage theater meets soda shoppe this place has great energy. solid service and short wait times for some truly high quality eats means return visits in my future. i also feel that this menu was designed for me. i'm generally not a sweets person but good grief. this place knows how to put together some awesome signature desserts. the cocktail, dessert cocktail and dessert sections of the menu are larger than the actual main meal section. i'm ok with that. start with dessert. get things to share. there are too many amazing ice creams and extras to try by yourself. i hate sharing my food, but in this case sharing is caring, and i care a lot about chocolate ice cream. this place isn't quiet, isn't private and has constant traffic. that energy just adds to the great vibe in the fountain. get here.

fabulous.. stutz salad and grilled cheese, so yummy. really great selection of fresh, good foods. also love that they walked out my to go order since i was in my pjs, so excellent service too!!

epic sundaes!. what a really fun and unique place! dark, romantic decor and the booth seats come equipped with a radio play! a dramatic soap opera involving an affair between a nurse and s doctor.

my husband and i made a trip here last week for our first visit after one of his coworkers told him that we just needed to get ourselves one of their epic sundaes!

our waiter was crazy awesome! very chill and very friendly and ready to blow us away with fountain magic.

my husband started with the dark and sinister, but chocolate by itself isn't really his thing. so he ordered a second sundae - three coins in the fountain - and he fell in love! if you want mint ice cream, this is definitely the way to go!

i got chocolate brownie cake in a cup with black cherry ice cream instead of plain old vanilla. it was pretty big and pretty yummy. i can't say the brownie was anything special, but the black cherry ice cream and hot fudge made it all come together. especially considering the huge chunks of actual cherries that i found bite after bite.

i would say that this place has very similar sundaes to crown candy as far as serving size and quality are concerned. so if you want that kind of food, but want more of a dark romantic spot, this is the place for you!

this place is wonderful! the food and drinks came out quickly, we had an excellent and efficient server. i had the orange sherbet mimosa float (which was very difficult to choose in lieu of the expansive craft cocktail menu) the dill pickle soup, and the chicken pesto on focaccia. it was all delicious. oh and the house made chips that you can choose as a side are very good and well-seasoned. i can’t wait to go back to try more of their icecream/liquor concoctions!

such a neat space and love the art deco theme. i was a little apprehensive to try the pickle soup but i’d definitely go back for more. the drinks are also fantastic!

our first time here did not disappoint! we were seated quickly in a booth and greeted by our friendly server heather. the menu was large and she took the time to explain what selections were popular and answer our questions. the soups were delicious and my friends enjoyed the grilled cheese. the food was so flavorful and prepared well.

we enjoyed the desserts which also did not disappoint and we will definitely be back again!!

went to the fountain after reading their reviews. we were in from out of town and always like to eat local when we travel. we arrived about 7pm on sunday night. we had a party of five and did not have to wait for a table. on their menu i notice some enticing drink options. i chose a side car, it was very good... and the second one was even better!  for dinner three of us decided on the cuban sandwich with a stutz salad, both were delicious (maybe the best i have ever had). my sister had the roast beef and the kale cup. she said the sandwich was excellent, but would have liked some au jus to dip it in. we all tried her kale cup and thought it was as good as the stutz salad. my sister, her husband and daughter split a sundae really enjoyed it. my companion and i drank our desert. our waiter rodney was friendly and efficient plus knowledgable about the menu. when we received our check it was just $40 for two large sandwiches with salads a blue moon and two side cars ($7 each). really enjoyed the entire experience and will definitely be back when we travel to st. louis again.

over the top ice cream parlor and soda fountain. all homemade dessert sauces and whipped cream. i had the banana bourbon. it was amazing. we also tried the hot chocolate. it too was incredible. fantastic place. can't wait to go back!

my boyfriend and i happened upon this lovely place when we were out on my birthday. we we there at noon on a sunday and were sat right away. i had an awesome cuban sandwich and salad...but to be honest, the dessert was what i was looking forward to. i had the three coins in the fountain and it was fantastic, though enough for two people. enjoyed everything about the restaurant, plan to go again!

we came in for lunch on a saturday. i wasn't impressed with the menu, i am a variety girl. i was impressed with how delicious and zesty every single item we ordered was though. la picada as a starter, hot cuban sandwich with st louis city salad, hot roast beef melt with hand cut fries, pesto chicken sandwich with fruit cup(upon request) all yummers! they have gluten-free option for bread too!
also, it's a great place to meet up with friends for a drink, you may need to make reservations, i see that it's always packed.

my friend was robbed after paying their bill. a person grabbed their bag and took off with their cell phones and credit cards. inside the  fount on locust. a bus boy handed the bag to the robber person .inside the building. the robber was in the restaurant.

the food is delicious and flavorful. my friends loved the drink options. the desserts exceeded all expectations!!

i would visit here often if i lived in the area.
