had the hash, huge glib of cheese, they left out the onions, served with the yolk broken. husbands omelet had one piece of avocado that was about half dime sized. when we pointed this out we got a flippant answer. we won’t be back.

this place was the worst service that i ever had at a restaurant. i have been traveling worldwide for 26 years and never saw service like this in any other restaurant. i order eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast, very simple and quick to cook. i waited and waited for food for 15 minutes. the waitress came by and said that they are looking at it, the order. other tables came in way after i ordered and their order was filled before mine. i waved at the owner/manger and he just ignored me. i waved the waitress down again after she gave food to another table. she said, "she told the manager". waited another 5 minutes and got up and told them to stick it!!!!! i will never go back there again and people need to boycott this place. very poor service!!! if you want good service go to dixie pig, a great place and excellent service or ihop. any other restaurant has better service then flipping eggs.

ate at the flipping egg this morning with my husband and youngest son. i wasn't sure from the external appearance if it was worth the go. then we got inside and the decor was adorable. the service was great, coffee cup was never empty, and the servers were always friendly. awesome texas benedict and texas trash. our son had the cinnamon bites. can't wait to take my older kids there. great alternative to grandy's and cracker barrel.

my family of four eats here on occasion--if we go to early church and can get there before the crowd!  we've always enjoyed it.  pancakes and omelets are our favorites.  not sure why it is rated as $$$.  almost every dish is below $10.  service can sometimes be slow, but staff is always friendly.  clean.  casual atmosphere.

service was lacking. the waitress was nice but once she took our order we didn't see her again until the food came out. after that by the time she came to refill the coffee we were already done eating ready to go. the amount for the money is a little cheap. it's not outrageous but it's not proportionate. my meal had 1 medium egg, 1 bacon and 2 pancakes for about $5 not too bad but the one egg was very small. the staff was polite but i've had better. might be back

great! went here after church and despite being crowded was able to get a table for 4 after a 15 minute wait. the servers and hostess were all really friendly and attentive. ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes...amazing! never had them before and can't wait to get them again. the scrambled eggs were light and fluffy and the bacon was thick and flavorful. large portions resulted in leftovers which i'm very excited about. it would be nice if they played background music, but the atmosphere is what you expect from a breakfast diner. i can't wait to come back and try more things from the menu!

i've spent a few hundred dollars at the flipping egg since they've opened. after my experience there today, i will not be going back again.

after being seated, i waited an hour for my food. upon leaving, and after mentioning to the hostess i would not be coming back, the hostess sarcastically chimed "maybe i'll see you at walmart". nice close on a crappy visit.

the owners should be concerned with the lackadaisical attitude the hostess and kitchen displayed on this visit. ridiculous.

food was good (but incredibly slow), waitstaff was good.

never will eat there again. went to the flipping egg today was a very unpleasant experience. i ordered an over easy egg and the whites were raw. it would have been fine if our he/she waitress/waiter would have come to check on us and had offered me another egg. it brought the check and never asked how things were. never even got a refill on drinks. when they figured out that i was unhappy by wanting my dollar in change they asked if i had a problem and when i told them my problem it wanted to argue with me unbelievable argue with a customer. this establishment needs to train their employees and teach them ethics. again i think this falls back to the leadership of the establishment. i wondered why they were not busy. i guess i know now and hope everyone else does to. i will never go there again.

eggs benedict was good, but my son was not impressed with the chicken fried steak. server was a little scatter brained.

everytime i come here the food is good. the problem is the staff. everytime we have to wait at least 30 minutes, and everytime there are lots of empty tables that noone will clean off. the wait staff is so slow and not very friendly. the only reason we have come back the 2 times we did, is because the food is actually good. we would come here a lot more frequently if they had better service.

sad. poor service... our waitress was horrible! she seemed to be upset about something. when the table next to us found something wrong with their sausage, they requested a different piece and when she turned around she rolled her eyes.

also, no military discount unless you're in uniform... again? really? this is just a way for businesses to say we support the military while not supporting them.

so disappointed & angry by being ripped off!. we are in town working for the hail storm and i always 90% of the time make sure we eat local to support the community. found this place in the brochure at the hotel, looked it up online and their prices seemed to be reasonable. due to our schedule it was hard to make it there before 2pm when they close but we made a point of it today. horrible! on their website their eggs benedict w/texas hash looked so good. their normal eggs benedict came w/reg. ham, (instead of the traditional canadian bacon) & regular hash browns. their texas benedict came w/bacon, tomatoes & texas hash. regular one was 10.49, the texas benedict was 9.99. so i simply asked to swap out the bacon with the ham. when we got the bill she charged me for the higher price one, which was fine but then she added on everything in my texas hash as an add-on. she even charged me for the tomatoes which was supposed to come on there. she nickled and dimed us .39 to .49 for each item. when we asked why, and why she didn't tell me before she placed my order all their excuse was, was the ham costed more. but the difference in price was .50 for each breakfast plate. only gave us 10% discount. the hollandaise sauce was horrible. it was gritty not smooth like its supposed to be. on top of that our breakfast was cold and there were hardly any people in there. i was so looking forward to trying this place out and did not expect to spend 27.31 for two breakfasts. we could've went somewhere else and had steak and eggs. stay away. if you do dare to go, make sure you don't ask for a substitute and if you do make sure they write out in advance that you will be paying 3.00 more. the manager would not even come out an address our issue. shame on this place and their tactics & ethics.

small portion served in disgustingly dirty dishes. after 3 days i am still in awe of the presentation of oatmeal. the large bowl had fingerprints on the rim and other signs of unsanitary attention. i asked the waitress to bring me a clean dish. when she returned, the oatmeal was served in a teeny tiny bowl and she commented that all of the dishes were that way....really? why tell me your dirty secret. i was glad to have the teeny tiny bowl so i couldn't see the bottom of the bowl because of the small serving. i estimated that the serving was 3/4 of a serving size listed on a box of oatmeal. we aren't talking the most expensive item on the menu we are talking oatmeal. for a recap, i had a small portion served in dirty dishes and paid full price. i wrote negative comments on the ticket for the manager to review. at this rate, he can add more pinterest ideas for growing plants to his restaurant rather than adding more tables~~by the way, your plants in the gutters need attention, they are dying which did not add to the atmosphere. thankfully i don't live in abilene.

what a find!. while visiting family in abilene the flipping egg was recommended to us as a breakfast choice. oh my goodness! you have got to try the german apple pancake. my wife and i both had one and it was absolutely wonderful. i have never had anything quite like it. it is not listed on their website menu but there is a picture of it in their slideshow. our son had cinnamon roll pancakes. his comment was "saying these pancake are good would be an insult!". we are definitely going to go back one more time while before we leave.
