this is my second review of fat seed. and for whatever’s its worth, the uptc café have gotten better.
our foodie group was invited to a night when fat seed introduced their new menu. personally, the first one was already impressive and i should say that the second one is even better.
anyway, we were first served drinks. concocted beverages like chocolate and strawberry shakes and the coffee cubes were served in unique containers. let’s me say that the chocolate shakes stood out.
for appetizers, the playful cheetos rings was the beautifully designed and strongly-flavored cheetos-covered onion rings with bleu cheese and sour cream. fantastic.
now we to the mains. the triple decker grilled cheese was, well, in compared to the other dish, was just passable. but it was the bacon truffle burger with truffle mushroom paste and crispy bacon strips was the stand out. the patty was genuinely beefy which was complimented by really crunchy bacon. another stand out was the slightly spicy wagyu beef and peppers pasta with red wine, garlic, red and green peppers and green chilis. perfectly seasoned.
and now, we come to the real stars in terms of presentation and flavors. i dish i loved the most was the seafood cauliflower rice. it’s was light yet filling. everything about it was “clean.” another was the portuguese seafood casserole. it’s a dish that’s a bit heavy to the tummy what with the shrimp, squid and kani, corn, béchamel sauce and true-blue white rice.
if only i could eat more i would have. but i didn’t because i know for a fact that fat seed will be for a long time. congratulations and keep it up.
