bestglazedever, man. bring cash. there are no other donuts. cinnamon and powdered are classics. the uglies (apple fritters) are as big as your head. i like to nibble on mine for a few days. theirglazedwill be used as currency one day.

...serving up the awesome since 1962...apple fritter... chocolate bavarian, eclairs, chocolate cake doughnuts and more, but the originalglazedis the true star.

as donut shops go in general it's a little sub par. although, they are the best donuts i've found in the 3 years i've been living in jax. no crullers. the yeast was under developed in theglazeddoughnuts. and, i suspect that the cooking oil could have been hotter because they were a little greasy. the bavarian cream was suspiciously pudding-like. and, everything i tried was a little on the overly sweet side. no savory options were offered. :(
for all of that, while i would never recommend this place as a foodie destination, i probably will be back. like i said, depressingly, they're the best doughnuts i found in jacksonville so far. that's not saying much. but, it's something.

this was my first foodie stop once i arrived in jacksonville and i have to say these are the bestglazeddonuts i have ever had! only downside is you need to get here early as they sell out pretty quickly.

a true jacksonville institution, the donut shoppe has been serving customers in arlington since it opened its doors in 1962. they open bright and early every day at 5am and serve delicious donuts made fresh daily.  while krispy kreme and dunkin donuts may be good, the donut shoppe takes you back to time where every corner wasn’t some giant chain and every donut didn’t come off an assembly line looking identical.  they take cash only and they close the doors when they sell out. you’ll have to show up early if you want to get some of this sugary goodness! according to a 2010 times union poll the donut shoppe had the best donut in jax.  we’re convinced that assertion still holds true today. the donut shoppe food: on this visit to the shoppe we took home a dozen donuts($8.37) plus an “ugly” also known as an apple fritter. we started off trying the standardglazeddonut.  it was pretty darn good.  it was slightly more dense and sugary than a dunkin but not nearly as de

omg... i've had donuts in all the major us cities and none come close to these. arrive early as the donuts go fast! theglazedare sweet, soft, mouth watering heavenly delights. my favorite is the chocolate frostedglazeddonut..... help me somebody!!! i live way too close and may have to join a 12 step donut program!! the apple fritters are wonderful and the cake donuts, very moist. when you first walk in it may seem the choices are limited compared to dd but then you realize who needs more when these satisfy every possible donut desire? oh and just for the record....most of the dd no longer make their own donuts!. they're brought in from an outside bakery every day! i don't cate where you live..... this place is worth the drive. since they moved down the street, they've added coffee.... and it's really good! and yes they only take cash..... however they now have an atm right in the bakery! the donut shoppe is to die for!

a new level of donut pleasure.. i admittedly had my skepticism about this place. i mean i was sure it was good , but how good can a donut really get? i had no idea before today. the texture is really exquisite. theglazeddonuts and apple fritters are at once crispy , airy , and creamy you should definitely try at least those two things if you go. the cake donuts are amazingly moist. all the flavors all good really.. fresh kripsy kreme or dunkin donuts absolutely pale in comparison.

the lady at the counter , susan , was very pleasant and friendly.

it's a bit of a drive from where i live , but well worth it. i don't care what part of town you live in , you owe it to yourself to try this place at least once.

best donuts ever. i have enjoyed donut shoppe for over 20 years. they are small and connected to a gate station so parking stinks...but they are worth it. theglazedand devils food are our favorites. the devils food is a chocolate cake donut with a glaze on it...very good! everyone who tries them are hooked. even my new jersey friend says she hasn't had a donut this good since leaving the north, lol. they use real jelly in their jelly filled.

insanely good donuts. the donut shoppe has the best donuts on the planet. if you think krispy kreme is good, try theglazeddonuts here. fresh out of the oven, they melt in your mouth. soft, fresh, with the right amount of glaze. who cares about sugar, calories and fat grams? biting into one of theseglazedbabies is worth it. the cake donuts are also delicious - moist and flavorful. love the blueberry, coconut and plain cake. they open at 5:30 am and close at 1pm or earlier if the donuts sell out.

little taste of heaven......... this place was super crowded at 8:00am but the donuts are out of this world yummy!!! they melt in your mouth. i especially liked the cinnamon &glazedone : ) will def be back for my little taste of heaven .

so good people wait for 'em. now you know a place has the best donuts in town when they are nearly sold out by 930am and people are waiting for them to make more!! we've gone once a month the past few months and are always greeted with salivating customers waiting to be served. our last trip there, we found that by 930am -- the donut case was nearly empty and they were taking orders forglazeddonuts only. we were able to get a donut stick, blueberry, and chocolate donuts in addition to our fresh warmglazeddonuts...lemme just tell you that if you've never had a freshlyglazeddonut from tds, you're missing out...its a party in the tummy!
