yummy!. i ate here for lunch today and i really enjoyed it. i got the ffa burger and onion rings. my wife got chicken strips and french fries. i would definitely recommend it. the burger was top notch and the onion rings were reallygoodas well. the fries weregoodbut nothing spectacular. will definitely come back.

son and i had a late lunch here a few days ago and both of us ordered burgers.  rings for me and sweet tater fries for the boy, goodburger but overcooked, the worst thing you can do to agoodburger.  burgers are meant to be juice dripping & mouthwatering to the point where you cannot even put it down.  the onion rings were homemade but lacked flavor.  why can't anyone in okc makegoodonion rings???  i thank them for doing them homemade but they need flavor.  nice atmosphere and we had a very friendly waitress so all in all i am sure we will be back.

the decorations and menu names are remarkable, but the food is not.  this was my first visit.  with a name like theirs, i figured that their burgers would be the thing to try.  the burger recipes are distinct from others that you will find in the okc metro area, e.g. the mad cow burger.  i went with the onion burger since that is how i like to assess the quality of a burger joint.  it is listed as an onion cheeseburger, but i got mine without cheese since i don't care for american cheese.

the burger was just average. i had to order ketchup and mustard because they are not provided at the table.  i also ordered lettuce, tomato, and pickles to go with some extra grilled onions.  i am not sure why this is not listed on the menu.  the lettuce was a green lettuce leaf that overlapped the bun; i had to fold it over to make it fit on the burger.  the tomatoes and pickles were fine.  it did not seem like i got extra grilled onions, and i could barely taste them against the flavor of the burger itself.

a tabletop sign proudly proclaimed that they serve burgers made from angus beef.  this must be a cut of beef without much fat in it because the burger that i got was lean.  at other burger joints, i worry about the bun disintegrating from contact with burger drippings, but not here.  the patty hadgoodbeef flavor with little aftertaste.  it was served at a temperature just a little bit hotter than room temperature; i prefer my burgers to be served too hot to handle straight off the griddle. 

i got french fries as my side dish.  i don't like it that you have to choose a side dish.  i didn't feel like paying a dollar extra to get a salad, onion rings, or sweet potato fries.  on the plus side, the fries were served hot and were not greasy.  on the negative side, they were barely seasoned.  i added salt to make them taste better.

this place is worth a return visit, but i won't come again until i'm in the edmond area for lunch.

first time in quite a while and very disappointed. turkey burger had no taste at all. fries and rings very greasy. prices have climbed quite a bit. probably won't be back.

great burgers!. first visit and i loved it! i had the grilled onion cheeseburger and it was fantastic! cooked well done, but still juicy! the meat was thick and tasty, but i couldn't finish it all! the onions were grilled perfectly too. the onion rings are reallygoodtoo! the prices are really low for the amount and quality of the food you get. i highly recommend this eclectic calf-hay!

excellent burgers. we came through edmond on our way to ks. we came across this place via a google search. it was a little off of our route but it was worth it. seeing the outside, we almost decided to skip it. really glad we went in. seriously the best burger we've had and we have some reallygoodones where we live in tx. bun was toasted perfectly and the meat was cooked just right. verygoodflavor. we stuck with the classic and were not disappointed. the onion rings were verygoodtoo. we will stop in again next time we are in the area. clean place withgoodservice too.

ian and i had dinner here two weeks ago. it was pretty good! he and i both got burgers, his a plainish cheeseburger, mine a western bbq burger. ian got fries, i got onion rings. i also got an appetizer of fried pickles. those were excellent; they came with a very nice ranch dressing to dip the fried pickles into. the burgers were pretty good; they had a nice crust and texture, and verygoodflavor. that was somegoodbeef. they were cooked medium well as requested. not a scrap was left. the iced tea was very good. service was super friendly and prompt. our check was $29.50. i look forward to another visit.

the food was very good, the atmosphere was fun, and the staff was relaxed but friendly and the service was great. i'd recommend this joint to any one looking forgoodburger.

one fav burger places. i go here almost weekly for agoodburger and its sooogoodlove the burger staff is nice as well really relaxed place love it

great flavorful burgers and reallygoodonion rings. don't miss the sweet potato waffle fries - maybe the best in the okc area. service is a little lagging but the food is worth the search for this out-of-the-way spot.

one great cheeseburger!!. i had a plain ol' cheese burger with fries. a great burger,goodflavor, juicy and delicious. the fries were nothing special, but they weregoodtoo. my wife had the maui burger (i had a bite and it was prettygoodtoo. i'm not a big pineapple fan, but the bacon on her burger was great.) she got her's with sweet potato fries' which were excellent. all in all we really enjoyed our food at the cow.

menu. i couldn't find the menu online. finally found it on facebook. btw... we love this place and eat here on our "cheat" days. :)

great little burger place. i'm not a huge fan of hamburgers. they kinda gross me out to be honest. but recently a friend talked me into trying the barnyard burger. it was surprisingly, amazing! i don't even like mushrooms, but this burger rocked. the fries aregoodtoo, which is a huge plus. take a chance, you burger haters...you might just go back, like i did!

good burgers. i'll take this place over the over-hyped flat tire burger. great burgers, reallygoodonion rings. goofy decor that seems to work okay. service is excellent.

the cow calf-hay has great fried pickles and reallygoodcurly fries, but the burgers have no flavor and the grease soaks the bun. the staff greets you right away and they do a verygoodjob taking care of there customers. the burgers need flavor!

goofy decor but great food!. i've been wanting to try this place, but was a bit hesitant because i'm not a fan of city bites. boy, was i in for a surprise! the decor is as whimsical and goofy as that of city bites, but that's where any comparison ends, as far as i'm concerned. we got there early (before 11:30) and that was agoodthing -- this small place fills up fast at lunchtime. our waitress greeted us promptly, returned with our drinks and took our orders. it took a bit for our food to arrive, but it was worth the wait. the 3 of us ordered different burgers -- the western, the onion burger with cheese, and one with bacon, onion strings, pepper jack cheese and spicy mayo that i can't recall the name of. all were fantastic! juicy beef, well-toasted bun, melting onions -- delicious! our fries\onion rings orders were a bit mixed up, but they brought us extra onion rings to make up for it. the onion rings are fabulous as is the sauce.

we'll be going back to this place, even though it requires a trek to edmond. it's well worth it!

best burger in town. i have been eating at the cow since they opened. i go with a co-worker at least a couple times a month or more. great service and excellent burgers. the onion rings are verygoodand i can't eat an onion ring anymore with out wanting to dip them in the cow calf-hay's onion ring sauce. definitely recommend to anyone!
