horrible service. some of the most unfriendly staff i've ever encountered. great atmosphere and friendly when they first opened but the decline in customer service has been steady. my last 2 visits resulted in the wrong coffee and meal being served up along with some pretty poor attitude when i insisted on my original order. i hope it improves.

the food is fantastic. i ordered the peruvian b n e roll, and i liked it! the bacon and egg were far more satisfied. the most exciting part was there was a little bit coriander in the roll and lifted the taste of it. but i had to wait for 30 mins to get the seat (was there abt 11:30 am saturday), and waited for another 45mins to get the ordered food...

skimpy on the meat. a noticeable decrease in the amount of meat on both the peruvian pork roll and beef hash.

huevos rancheros with added chorizo and avocado. two perfectly cooked crispy fried eggs on a bed of sautéed beans, pork and capsicum accompanied by a mouth watering slice of pork belly. all this sitting on top of a home made blue corn tortilla. the flavours in this dish are really lovely and i definitely dig the mexican feel. the added side of chorizo was a tasty accompaniment that was charred on the outside, succulent and bursting with flavour. the perfect mixture of meat and fat. this was a great breaky however the large chunks of capsicum kind of take away from the rest of the dish’s flavour and might be a bit full on for a breakfast. about these ads div.wpa>div { margin-top: 1em; } #google_ads_div_wpcom_below_post_adsafe_ad_container { display: block !important; } share this:

although it was windy walking from st peters station, the cafe was very inviting with the warmth and homely smells wafting from the open kitchen! i loved the decor of the wooden tables, concrete floors, exposed pipes which reflected the industrial area of alexandria but also had the homely soft touches of fresh flowers on each table. on sundays, the copper mill offers an all day brunch menu offering a delightful mix of tantalising ingredients which are perfect for winter such as halloumi and mushrooms!  the galette was incredibly flavoursome and simply the best comfort food. it was like eating a deconstructed pie with the flaky puff pastry of the galette gently balancing the s

i ordered one of their sandwiches: roasted cauliflower, eggplant pickle, feta and butter lettuce. this sandwich was tasty, crunchy and i ate it within minutes, i especially loved the eggplant pickle because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good pickle…?

tucked away in the suburbia part of alexandria lies a small cafe which reeks of a melbourne meets brunswick street. the copper mill is a quirky cafe with wooden stools beautiful wooden tables and great coffee with a pumping vibe. the copper mill is just around the corner from the grounds so if your tired of waiting, you might have to wait a bit at the copper mill too but not as long and painful as the grounds can sometimes be. their menu is written up on a chalk board and is fairly limited with options which makes it a whole lot easier deciding on what to choose. mr.p chose a mexican themed breakfast whilst i decided to go for something on the vegetarian side the copper mill, alexandria a:  338 mitchell road, alexandria nsw 2043

this is not your average bacon and egg roll - instead of bacon rashers the roll has been upgraded to pork belly chicharron with a perfect sunny-side-up egg, salsa criolla, a tangy lemon aioli and sweet, creamy roast kumera.

at the copper mill on mitchell road in an area some call alexandria and some call erskineville, bacon and eggs are most certainly not just bacon and eggs. most surprising is that the café doesn't really have a proper kitchen, but just a stovetop or two and a benchtop grill. cappuccino and watermelon, apple and mint juice from the copper mill, mitchell road, alexandria with minimal outdoor seating and hipster-fied interiors, the copper mill is a spacious little venue that clearly values comfort over crowds. decorated with the occasional item of copper cookware, the high ceilings of the space and its well-spaced tables lend it well to relaxed brunching and munching on some latin-inspired brekky bits. i still like cappuccinos because of the chocolate powder and foam, giving me the slightest of sugar hits with the golden cobra b

melbournians visited sydney for the day (on a sunday). we thought we'd try this place as there were good reviews. we arrived early just before 8:30am and found it strange that there were people waiting for this cafe to open up. we were not disappointed after our visit, omg, the food was fabulous, and not to mention the coffee was made perfect! i had the 'everything bagel with beetroot cured salmon', fresh ingredients, just perfect. my cousin had the 'smoked bacon, 'sunnyside up egg with capsicum relish' it was the best she had ever had (and that's saying something). i loved the decor, and the staff are so efficient and very friendly.

we were surprised by the amount of people already waiting outside the cafe. we were asked to drop our names down for a table, but unlike other cafes they didn’t ask for a contact number. the waitress then picked up a chalk and a piece of what looked like a long blackboard from the floor besides the pot plant, to write our names, which i thought was an interesting idea.

the copper mill is sort of hidden, well its kind of you gotta know where this sits – its adjacent to a large business park and not far from princess park properties large residential megaplex in ersko/st peters but there it is, this rather darkly intimate, industrial chic and rather nice cafe just placed located here. we’ve driven down the mitchell road quite often and not noted this. the appearance of a desolate foodscape. the copper mill is housed under a large architectural practice just there. its rustic looking, with grey walls – the counter where the coffee machine is a large piece of rusticated timber and a simple glass box for the sweet eats. nice timber batten screen there. seperates the two businesses and yet permits light through. you can sit at the counter too mecca coffee, st ali. the kitchen area is a largeish island filled with activity special lamb shoulder sandwich was pretty good and well presented. coddled egg dish, came with a long teaspoon to scoop out the contents

...for me it’s all about the peruvian b+e which is everything you could ask for and more. soft pork belly, tangy aioli and sweet salsa combine to create a breakfast roll which you will be thinking about until you can get your hands on another one.
