the butler. great restaurant set up, great vibe and clearly the place to be seen. service prettygood- may have been because we were a large table. the table decided on the banquet menu. there's certainly enough food to go around. did i think it was worth the $55 - well i am not so convinced...

cured ora king salmon: 😍 amazing
wagyu striploin : 😁 great
salt & sugar baked beets : 😍 amazing
pandas panna cotta : 😍 amazing

having a walk around potts point, we stumbled upon what was possibly one of the best hidden gems. top quality ingredients presented beautifully on the plate with a view of the city worth soaking. the cured ora salmon was divine and melted in your mouth. the wagyu striploin was a bit tough and hard to chew (cooked medium rare) but the marinade was delicious and i think it wasgoodto have the baked beets on the side with this dish. the panna cotta was just heavenly. everything about it was beautiful. the flavours, the textures, the presentation and is definitely a must try if you’re dining at the butler.

i dined here on a friday night with a friend. we pre-booked a table and were seated in the undercover inddor/outdoor area. it was severely storming that night but the area was well protected from the weather giving us a nice view of the city. we ordered a series of share plates both small, large, side dishes, one of the specials and dessert. we had the tuna tartare, duck liver pate (special), the lamb, roasted cauliflower and lemon panacotta with passionfruit. all the food was delicious and filling. the dishes are definitely designed to share and give you a great way to try a large portion of the menu. overall, i had agoodexperience at the butler. the wait staff were attentive and food was served promptly. they also had a nice selection of beer and wine available to pair with the meal. i would say that this would be somewhere to dine if you're looking for something a bit more fancy than "cheap and cheerful". for the five dishes and two drinks each, we paid $80 pp. i only managed to get a couple of photos as the area where we were sitting was quite dark!

went to this place for my anniversary, and the service was just so friendly and outstanding, we were very taken care. the view was amazing at night, the aesthetic to it is very deep and romantic. just the atmosphere was so nice with the decor and music. the food in my opinion was totally worth it, as they do shared platters, it filled our tummies quitegoodwith about 4-5 plates. and their cocktails are so awsome it’s not funny, 100% would go back, highly recommend.

come to this place for the first time, such a great ambience for me to experience this. i sit outside with a beautiful scenery surround me. the staffs were really friendly and kind. they served me really well.

i order the lamb ribs and massive portion(1.2 kg). the meat was so tender and juicy, lots of flavour, perfectly seasoned & cooked to perfection. the meat was easily pulled from the ribs. you can imagine howgoodand full your tummy was!

the chips wasgoodtoo. it was crispy and not to oily, the spicy mayo was exceptional. my faveeee!

the cocktail was nice too! recommended by the staff as the cocktail of the day.

the chocolate dessert wasgoodtoo. thick chocolate cake with cookies crumble on the bottom of the cake. the pecan eas crunchy, its not too sweet, just a perfect balance.however, there’s no wow factor, just an average taste..

overall, good food, goodambience, nice staffs. will come back again in the future!

the gorgeous skyline of the domain and the cbd projecting towards the broad covered verandah was certainly one of the highlights when i dined at the butler two weeks ago. located on victoria street in potts point, the beautiful restaurant and bar features a dimly-lit but energetic interior with rows of greenery intertwining with soft rattan-like seats.

food, however, was pretty ordinary and forgettable. i ordered a buttermilk fried chicken slider with ranch slaw, pickled jalapeño and salsa macha. the fried chicken was juicy but soggy. probably the chicken was soaked in oil for a disproportionate duration or prepared in the previous batch.

next, the slow cooked pork and chipotle empanada with parmesan and and fermented apple puree was ok but lacked fragrance and taste. it lookedgoodthough.

finally, the slow cooked free ranch pork belly, prepared with pumpkin and yoghurt mousse, black garlic, pumpkin caponata and pepitas, was disappointing. the fatty section of the pork belly was stuck stubbornly on my teeth and the skin was hard and bitter.

overall, the service was acceptable but they got really busy on a weeknight and took a while to attend to you. the butler is worth going for its gorgeous views but the food and cocktails were underwhelming.

we had an enjoyable long lunch here, but it wasn't without its issues. on the positive side, it's a beautiful room and setting, the food was very good, as were the drinks. it was let down by the service which, though friendly, was very inconsistent. the greeting made us feel immediately welcome but after being seated it was another 20 minutes before we had a drink in front of us, after struggling to get anyone to pay any attention to us.

the food was great but, as pointed out by others, the tiny plates make eating tricky. more irritating was that out sides arrived with the last of our dishes, which meant we didn't feel like eating half of them.

so, agoodmeal that fell short of great.

yeah, it's agoodplace to eat and you probably won't be disappointed, but you also won't walk out of there thinking, "that was great!"  the service is fine, the room is fine and the food is fine. but for the price, there are better places around the area.

had a very lovely lunch at the butler. the food, ambience and view are amazing - we ended up ordering the $55/pp butler's banquet. all the dishes were reallygoodand everyone was quite full after the meal. i particularly enjoyed the fried polenta with gruyère and prawn gumbo with quinoa. we also had a few cocktails with lunch and all were quite enjoyable. i'm not much of an alcohol drinker but i especially loved the jugs of grandma's vase and ladies who lunch which were light and refreshing. recommend this little gem of a place for birthday's and i even saw a party of 10 having a hens lunch together which is a very lovely idea.

we had a relativelygoodexperience here last night. busy, so we had agoodcatch up at the bar and waited for our table. it took the time we expected.
yet everything about the nights service was disappointing. the wait at the bar to order a drink, the way the woman taking reservations was condescending to me when checking on our table. the waiter was introduced to us when we sat down but basically ignored us all night. i had to check on the wine and food we ordered twice.
saying all this, i found the food well conceived with interesting flavours.
overall the experience was better than average. but the staff could try and be a bit more professional for the standard of the restaurant.
i would go back and give it another go one day though.

this french caribbean style restaurant is beautifully furnished with a romantic fireplace to set the mood. went here with girlfriends, and we unanimously loved it! dishes were light and delicious; and the cocktails were fun and flirty. we tried it all, the cheese, the seafood, the meats and then finished with dessert- the perfect food journey! no doubts about it, i'll be coming back and maybe even have a birthday here- i'm always a sucker for agoodcity view!

very average food and young, loud atmosphere. we were expecting much more along the lines of the old mezzaluna restaurant experience. but that's all changed.

we arrived for our table booking at 8:30. the front bar was heaving with people & no place to sit as we waited for someone to take us to the table. eventually found somewhere to sit to have our drink while we waited & waited. the small tables were full of glassware and rubbish the entire time we sat there. no one seemed bothered to come clean up. there was a frenzy of people coming and going and it just didn't feel relaxed. no one was focussed on the front of house meet & greet task. we had to ask twice for someone to show us to our table after we'd finished our drinks.

view was great but we'd been there before and without this it's be very very average. a pity when just the view is the onlygoodthing. you can get that for free elsewhere if you try hard enough. food was average. we had 3 dishes and one of the a cheapest wines. escaped with $150 for two.

service was perfunctory and they seemed like bored, insincere teenagers. they just seemed cool and aloof but maybe they were shy and inexperienced.

the music was super loud all over the place to the point where you just could not hear your partner or the staff.

definitely a place for the younger 20-30's set. don't go if you want to talk or have a romantic dinner.
