the butchery / vera's burger shack

burgers are great and very fresh with lots of topping choices. not at all aplacefor fries, they were ok but failed to impress. burgers are a bit more expensive compared to other local places but certainly worth it.

watch the labelling on your meat. while i have always enjoyed the butchery i don't get out to bells corners very often.
i doubt i will go anymore however because my last trip was... disappointing? i prefer to give the benefit of the doubt except, the staff behind the counters know their product and their codes very well...
so, last time when i got home and saw that the beef i had purchased had been labelled and charged for as if it were lamb, i was quite upset. there is a significant price difference! i bought multiple items and it was busy in the store with a lineup at the cash so didn't review the receipt and pricing until i got home.
i doubt this was an accident since as i say, the people behind the counter at thisplaceknow what they are doing.
so, just saying - - - make sure you triple check what they are charging you for! i felt really shocked and like they had tricked me when i got home. in spite of the numerous great experiences prior to this one bad experience, i will very likely avoid thisplacein the future unless i need something i can't find elsewhere. it's disrespectful to your client base to trick them or try and overcharge for meat.

there is domething fishy with all the good reviews. thisplaceis not that good, i went to check it out right when it opened, placed my order (on the paper) and they had no fries and wouldnt allow us to have an alternate side out of the 25 they had in the display case. note: if u are out or dont have something, u should inform your guests before they order!

vera's is nestled in a butcher shop (the butchery). it is a tinyplacewith a few seats, but they serve one of the best burgers in town. you pick your own toppings (i love the vera sauce!). the burger is huge but so juicy and tasty that i always manage to eat it all. they close fairly early (6pm most days) so make sure to check their hours. they also sell the patties in the butcher shop, so you can cook your own at home. their burgers hit the spot! yum!!

first visit. my friend had the burger, and said it was wonderful. i opted for the chili, which was good. where thisplacefails is, firstly, i couldn't get a bread roll or butter to go with the chili--i offered to pay extra. it doesn't exist! i also couldn't get a glass of milk, or a carton of milk! they are pushing soft drinks, and milkshakes. the shock at that part must have shown on my face! you can't have a healthy beverage, because they don't carry them!!

best burger in town (beats the works in my opinion) and the fries are amazing too! very smallplacewith few seats (hard to get a seat when it's busy). you have to write down your order and it takes a while to get your food, but it's worth the wait! juicy 6oz patty with your choice of condiments. hidden treasure i'm glad i discovered!
