the black marlin bayside grill

have eaten here 3 times while on vacation. i wholeheartedly agree with bacb. food is average. not a stand out. other places are better. has agreatoutdoor space. but can get crowded and service is only average and can feel pressured at times.

my husband and i enjoyed our dinner. the bar staff was very attentive withgreathappy hour specials from 4-7 pm. while we waited for about an hour, we enjoyed the parmesan-spinach-crab dip which was served hot with tortilla chips. for dinner i chose the sea scallops on the daily special menu. they were the best i have ever eaten, seasoned with browned butter, lemon and bits of pecan. the grits were delicious as well. my husband had the fried shrimp and scallops. they were very fresh and lightly battered. the wait staff was equally attentive. we would eat here again!

loved it! we had the sushi nacho for app, seafood roll, lobster tacos, fried shrimp and scallops dinner, and kids fried shrimp dinner. everything was awesome. best seafood roll outside of maine!! tito's mule is agreatdrink. fast and friendly service. no complaints!

go for the fish and nothing else. overall it is a decent enough place, they cook fish well, shell fish ok but they cannot cook meat. the family ordered the whitefish special that night, the fried shellfish platter and a new york strip. as i said the whitefish was well cooked seasoned well and overall tasted great.the fried shellfish well the scallops were very overcooked the shrimp were nice and the lobster tail wasn't anything to write home about but was good enough. the problems came with the steak, which was our third diners only choice seeing as he wasn't in the mood for fish and every other choice had a chance of being cooked with or in the same device as shellfish which he was allergic to, he couldn't even have fries because apparently they are cooked in the same fryer as the shrimp. any way the steak itself was poorly seasoned and grilled to hell, it was ordered as medium and we went as far to ask the waiter what they prepared medium as which he said pink throughout. when it came it was cut down the middle and no pink was to be found nor pinkish, just well done dark grey throughout. in short go there forgreatfish but don't order off their land menu

we had a wonderful dining experience at black marlin! we sat outside, which was beautiful (besides dealing with flies!). i ordered the lobster pot and it was amazing! i also ordered the banana creme brûlée for dessert. it was so delicious!! our server was jason. he was very nice and helpful. our food came out quickly and he was very attentive. my husband ordered the king crab legs and he loved them. i would highly recommend this restaurant. we were on vacation and it was by far my favorite place to eat. we arrived about 5:00 to beat the crowds. we didn't have to wait for a table! overall,greatfood and service!!

food was mediocre at best, but i sort of expect that when the menu is all over the place (it included tacos, surf and turf, an asian salad and other odds and ends). it was agreatenvironment for sitting outside, and very welcoming for children. service was definitely slow. between slow service and mediocre food (and relatively high prices considering both of those factors) we probably would not return here.

not so much. i'm okay with a tourist seafood spot that has okay food and agreatview, orgreatview and okay food... unfortunately, i thought this place had mediocre food (at best) and absolutely no view except the cross-bay bridge. we went for lunch and had a mix of things, oyster poboy, shrimp burger, fish tacos... and nothing particularly interesting. unfortunately, while you assume this place hasgreatviews of the inland waterways, it really doesn't.

great food,greatdrinks,greatview of the sound. went for sunday dinner and was surprised to have no wait, though it was 5:30. we sat on the terrace overlooking the docks and sound.

great food! we had the raw oysters to start, followed by fresh wahoo, low country boil pot, and agreatselection of interesting and local brews. kids had agreattime too.

the fish was really fresh, cooked in a orange teriyaki glaze, done just right. steamed broccolini was among the best i've had. though not known as a raw bar, the oysters, caught nearby in the sound were reasonable. they also had some gulf oysters which were nice, not too salty.

service was prompt, friendly, helpful, and attentive.

agreatlittle find, worth a short drive. you should also try the hurricane bar.

great patio..other reviews said service was bad but i thought it was fine... skinny pina colada or georgia peach both with a grand mar floater will ser u free!! :) awesome drinks..shrimp artichoke dip was just eh..but fried shrimp oysters and scallops weregreatwith some really yummy slaw...i'd for sure come back!

walked in not expecting much on a sunday am. was hoping for a brunch buffet but they just had menu orders. was pleasantly surprised though, casual place but had agreatbreakfast. shrimp and grits were wonderful as was the quiche special for the day. good place, will certainly go back.
