have eaten here 3 times while on vacation. i wholeheartedly agree with bacb.foodis average. not a stand out. other places are better. has a great outdoor space. but can get crowded and service is only average and can feel pressured at times.

the black marlin is terrible. the service was lacking, the menu was limited, and thefoodwas bland and greasy. how this restaurant got to # 1 i don't know. avoid at all cost.

great location tucked back into a little off the beaten path. drinks were cold,foodwas light and delicious. services was ok, waitress was a bit cold and the one waiter threwfoodin front of you with out allowing time for you to clear a place. other than that i'd go back again, had the fried shrimp and flounder. very light breading not greasy at all, awesome sweet potato waffle fries. try it !

even though it says this restaurant has a view of the beach it is hard to see unless you have on of the few tables that are not obstructed in the view. thefoodwas good. i love seafood and their fried clams were very well prepared. the breading was very light and the clams were not over cooked. i had the grouper and grits. the grouper was flaky and the grits complimented the grouper perfectly.

made a reservation through opentable and we were seated immediately. the service was extremely slow and not attentive at all. thefoodon the other hand was very good. i suggest the bayside stuffed flounder and the sweet heat maui maui. the seafood chowder is also very good

thoroughly enjoyed this place back in 2009. went back twice during that vacation.
however, our experience this go around was not very pleasant.
my husband ordered halibut (way over cooked), he said the baked potato was the only thing worth eating. i ordered the same meal i enjoyed twice in 2009; the lobster pot. the whole lobster was way undercooked, i only had two clams that were opened and my mussels tasted like, well, i could only eat one. we were so disappointed, not at the fact i was given the wrong meal when they served ourfood(understandable mistake), thefoodwas unforgivable.
i wish i could have a better review, but we won't be attending, again.
i hope your dining experience is better than ours, because we used to love this place.

thefoodwas okay. probably would have tasted better if we didn't have to let it sit for 15 minutes until we finally spotted our waiter and asked for water refills.

we had a wonderful dining experience at black marlin! we sat outside, which was beautiful (besides dealing with flies!). i ordered the lobster pot and it was amazing! i also ordered the banana creme brûlée for dessert. it was so delicious!! our server was jason. he was very nice and helpful. ourfoodcame out quickly and he was very attentive. my husband ordered the king crab legs and he loved them. i would highly recommend this restaurant. we were on vacation and it was by far my favorite place to eat. we arrived about 5:00 to beat the crowds. we didn't have to wait for a table! overall, greatfoodand service!!

4 of us ate there friday night. awfulfoodand mediocre service. 3 of us had fish (so not good) and 1 had filet mignon and stuffed shrimp. have had better steak at golden corral. will never eat here again. serg group should be ashamed to have this restaurant in their group.

inexperience hostess and wait staff.foodok. seafood boils need more potatoes and corn in them! they also need to be served with melted butter and other sauces. boils need more flavor.

gone downhill- much better on island. black markin has gone downhill. thefoodis not good, and the portions are small. it had been on of my top pics in the past. i love the decorations, large outdoor seating, and hurricane bar. our party of five went early for drink specials at the bar before dinner. the drinks were terrible. the "hurricane" was orange and fruity. even the house margarita missed the mark. i am disappointed in this serg group establishment. either new management or new chefs need to be hired. will not be on the list of stops next trip into hhi.

food was mediocre at best, but i sort of expect that when the menu is all over the place (it included tacos, surf and turf, an asian salad and other odds and ends). it was a great environment for sitting outside, and very welcoming for children. service was definitely slow. between slow service and mediocrefood(and relatively high prices considering both of those factors) we probably would not return here.

not so much. i'm okay with a tourist seafood spot that has okayfoodand a great view, or great view and okay food... unfortunately, i thought this place had mediocrefood(at best) and absolutely no view except the cross-bay bridge. we went for lunch and had a mix of things, oyster poboy, shrimp burger, fish tacos... and nothing particularly interesting. unfortunately, while you assume this place has great views of the inland waterways, it really doesn't.
