such a large dining space with an amazing and lively atmosphere!
theserviceis amazing and the staff are so friendly and welcoming as well!
the food is honestly so delicious. we tried the curry puffs, tom yum soup, pad se ew, massaman curry and and barbecue pork! my favourites were no doubt the tender barbecue pork with the amazing dipping sauce and the tom yum soup which had the right balance of sour, salty and chilli!
have to admit, it’s on the pricey side but it is so worth it. will be back again to try the rest of the menu without a doubt!

absolutely incredible. hands down the bestservicei have ever encountered. then there's the food - it is to die for. i want to take this place and all of the beautiful staff back to perth with me.

very good service. bestservicein newtown. fast service, good portion of food. average taste (i've been to many other thai restaurants with much better food but far worse service). a little bit expensive but will surely go back.

this restaurant has the bestservicei've encountered in sydney! all of the staff are very attentive and very friendly, it makes for such a nice night. the food is also delicious and the banquet meals great value and more than enough for everyone. i've been here with a large group of people a couple of times and would come back again and again. we love thai pothong!!! thank you so much for the lovely night :)

i very rarely feel like i've had a faultless dining experience, but that is what i got at thai pothong. wow.servicewas incredible- our waiter was attentive and friendly and intuitive to our needs. we brought our own bottle of wine and he still always ensure to keep our glasses full and remembered my friend puts ice in hers and took care of it for her.
the restaurant is big and busy and there is a vibrancy in the buzz of happy patrons but it is never too noisy to maintain a comfortable conversation. we had a table by the window and it was lovely.
we started with some cocktails which were insanely delicious!

we started with the tofu and mushroom rice paper rolls, prawns in betel leaves and chilli scallops. the prawns in betel leaves were the highlight- so many delightful flavours and textures!
for mains we got the coconut seafood curry and the red duck curry with coconut rice. everything was incredibly delicious and carmen and i practically licked the plates clean! the coconut rice was perfection and the depths of flavours in the seafood curry were amazing. the red duck curry was simply yum!
we didn't order dessert but we were brought a complimentary coconut ice-cream with jelly pieces and fresh lychee and orange. would recommended thai patong to anyone! just remember to book because it is crazy popular for a reason!

not even worth considering. this place used to be my absolute favorite thai restaurant but the quality of food andservicehas dropped ridiculously low.

been this to place a few years ago, and went back tonight for dinner. it was a fully booked night, even with our reservation we had to wait about 15 mins to be seated which is not ideal.
but the food andserviceworth the wait and the slightly overpriced menu. we had the bbq octopus for entere and flamable steamed seafood with masaman curry for main. the steamed seafood was amazingly delicious.
service from staff was very polite and friendly. didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive.
will definitely go back.

their premise is huge so you can easily host a party- make it a birthday one and they will even do a little song for you!!

best thai restaurant in newtown, very friendlyserviceand very intiuative. food was awesome, lots of flavour but very pricey for thai. the owner is very nice and they recommend the best food if you ask for it.

this has been my 4th time at the restaurant and it's always been a great time for my family and i. the customerserviceand staff were super nice and friendly and everyone of them were professional. i forgot to provide a tip to the waiter that served us, but we will be coming back soon to celebrate my sister's birthday so i'm excited to come back and dine once again! thank you for a memorable dining experience! this is the best thai restaurant in sydney! keep up the good work, guys! can't wait to dine again here soon.

ok, this was a place that we wanted to go for a while. like we would expect theservicewas quite fast and friendly. ordered betel leaf prawn, papaya soft shell crab salad, curry puffs, tom yum prawn soup and barramundi curry.

guess we wouldn't bother ordering curry puffs next time, but betel leaf prawn is a must for us!

the only downside for this place is that at around 10pm, most of the staff started cleaning up and straightening the tables. they even started stacking plates in the empty tables and mopping the floor, in front of us while we were still there?? we found it really weird, not that type of scene we would want while we were still tryina enjoy our meal.

me and my sister saw a sign that said this place was the best thai restaurant in sydney so we just had to try it.

we weren’t disappointed! we loved everything we ordered which was their garlic and pepper snapper and bbq pork. so tasty and flavourful! 😋

best thai food ever!
authentic flavors, great ambience and excellent service. the curry was spot on with the spices and the barramundi with thai herbs was delicious. there was no shortage in customerserviceas they were regularly checking if you needed anything. i can’t remember the last time i went to a restaurant and getting this level of customer service. well done guys! keep it up. will definitely be coming back and recommending others to visit.
