such a large dining space with an amazing and lively atmosphere!
the service is amazing and the staff are sofriendlyand welcoming as well!
the food is honestly so delicious. we tried the curry puffs, tom yum soup, pad se ew, massaman curry and and barbecue pork! my favourites were no doubt the tender barbecue pork with the amazing dipping sauce and the tom yum soup which had the right balance of sour, salty and chilli!
have to admit, it’s on the pricey side but it is so worth it. will be back again to try the rest of the menu without a doubt!

a great restaurant in newtown. spacious, clean and decor is very 'thai', without being tacky or too over the top. the food here is flavoursome and varied. pricing is a tad more expensive than other thai restaurants, but really worth it. the one factor that makes dining here a pleasure, is no doubt, the staff. although very busy, they are alwaysfriendlyand welcoming. i have always received good service, every time i've dined here. highly recommend and will definitely continue to come back.

i very rarely feel like i've had a faultless dining experience, but that is what i got at thai pothong. wow. service was incredible- our waiter was attentive andfriendlyand intuitive to our needs. we brought our own bottle of wine and he still always ensure to keep our glasses full and remembered my friend puts ice in hers and took care of it for her.
the restaurant is big and busy and there is a vibrancy in the buzz of happy patrons but it is never too noisy to maintain a comfortable conversation. we had a table by the window and it was lovely.
we started with some cocktails which were insanely delicious!

we started with the tofu and mushroom rice paper rolls, prawns in betel leaves and chilli scallops. the prawns in betel leaves were the highlight- so many delightful flavours and textures!
for mains we got the coconut seafood curry and the red duck curry with coconut rice. everything was incredibly delicious and carmen and i practically licked the plates clean! the coconut rice was perfection and the depths of flavours in the seafood curry were amazing. the red duck curry was simply yum!
we didn't order dessert but we were brought a complimentary coconut ice-cream with jelly pieces and fresh lychee and orange. would recommended thai patong to anyone! just remember to book because it is crazy popular for a reason!

this has been my 4th time at the restaurant and it's always been a great time for my family and i. the customer service and staff were super nice andfriendlyand everyone of them were professional. i forgot to provide a tip to the waiter that served us, but we will be coming back soon to celebrate my sister's birthday so i'm excited to come back and dine once again! thank you for a memorable dining experience! this is the best thai restaurant in sydney! keep up the good work, guys! can't wait to dine again here soon.

one of the best thai restaurants i have ever eaten at. thai pothong was probably the restaurant which sparked my love for thai food. not only if the food absolutely divine and a real celebration of thai heritage and culture, the staff are superfriendlyand so attentive to their customers. i've been here multiple times now and even celebrated my birthday here. highly recommend!!

veryfriendlyservice! the staff spend their time to explain some dishes. they were able to serve some dinner items like coconut seafood curry and crab fried rice.

loved the refreshing batel leaf prawns. beef salad is very tender and flavourful. though it has some fatty bits i did not like. the pad kee mao was too spicy... thanks to xihuahua 🐶 for introducing this place.

well decorated restaurant,friendlystaff. good taste and good portions of dishes. reasonable price. will definitely visit again and try some other dishes.

best thai restaurant i have every been to , in every aspect, service is great veryfriendlyand never makes u wait , food is delisous and value for money, cocktails and mocktails are also very generous, its super clean and he atmosphere is very culturally wonderfull to be surrounded , they also have a gift shop and drinks downstairs , they give u free vouchers that u can use and money to buy the gifts that are affordable: ) loved it and will definitely come back regularly

fantastic service from each staff ! sofriendlyand helpful - exceeded our expectation! we came to celebrate our friend’s birthday and they prepared special ice cream and balloons.

amazingly good food. excellentfriendlyservice (constantly have water and rice refilled). can get busy on weekends, and we had a party booking that took a long time to bring our order (partially my fault for refusing to take the banquet menu). have been many times, and couldn't recommend it more.

one of my favourite thai restaurants in sydney. i make a point to visit whenever i am in the area.

it's a little more expensive, but great ambience especially for kids.

very large dining area good for larger parties, but be careful, on busy nights you may have to get the banquet (which is still good, but i prefer the variety of ordering my own things).

curries are excellent (especially the red duck curry), noodle dishes are also great. have not had anything bad from here yet

this place has a fantastic vibe to it and is packed! the staff are quitefriendlyand very attentive, organised and efficient. the food is good, but like most thai-australian restaurants, has most of their dishes tasting slightly too sweet. the baked fish dish was probably the most authentic dish there, but their wacky but fun cocktails made up for it.

absolutely love this place! the staff arefriendlyand had no problem seating our table, despite us being a walk in group of over 30 people. the food is great and comes decently quickly, also is priced well. would revisit for sure
