went there this year for my husbands bday... we had the vegetable dumplings... 6 pieces great taste...next we ordered water chestnut and corn tarts with friedricenoodles.... 5 pieces...different and really yumm...would recommend both...next we ordered green thai curry it is served with a portion of steamed rice... medium spicy... the best you might have ever had... craving for more... we also ordered 2 diet cokes ...

to begin with , i had dined at thai pavilion for my birthday which turned out super good. thai pavilion is the best destination for thai food in mumbai. pure genuine thai food is what you get here. you won’t be disappointed at all. everything was perfect from the ambience ,staff , food and desserts. the only worth 5 star restaurant in mumbai in terms of everything :) i felt so good and relived memories of bangkok and pattaya. i highly recommend this restaurant to visit atleast once and then you won’t stop revisiting it :p

every dish was unique and the flavours were so strong and real. kudos to the chef, you are truly amazing. as i told the staff it’s my birthday , they send a huge slice of strawberry cheesecake at the end and yes it was toothsome. truly a merry experience out here.

we had 1 mocktail, 2 appetizers, 1rice,1 curry and 1 dessert platter..

farang marry (450) which is a super blend of guava and chilly , it’s yum. highly recommend .

red snapper cakes (900)- oh my god , it was super delicious.  
marinated chicken with peanut sauce (900)- just about okie, nothing great. 
main course

spicy friedricewith roast curry paste and basil. (950)- prefect and full-flavoured.
kho pnp kai (950) – divine with full of flavours. 
we took the dessert platter , which had assorted mini desserts. now all of them aren’t that great specially the chocolate ones , but omg water chestnut, pumpkin and creme brûlée is just too good. priced at 600.

 sub total – 4750 .. total tax – 863 grand total – 5613.

no doubt it’s expensive , but totally worth it once in a while…

all round excellent thai food. honestly the best in south mumbai, i cant speak for the north. also for being in a taj hotels property it is not exorbitant, especially if you can keep the alcohol to a minimum. that being said, for all you cocktail lovers, please ask the staff if they can serve cocktails from 'wink' which is a lounge bar just a few steps down from the thai pavilion, known for its cocktails. they usually oblige.

getting back to the food, the soft shell crab with pomelo is amazing, the classic papaya salad of course, grilled scallops, chicken satay and the tom yum however you like it. 
the jasminericegoes perfectly with both the red and green curries. first timers i recommend the green curry. delicious. the grilled pork chop with mint and cucumber sauce is also great. do order a morning glory, the vegetables are fresh and crunchy and go perfectly with the entire meal. never eaten the desserts here so apologies for not recommending any.

my only grouse with this place if any is that perhaps the portions could be more generous. keep up the good work thai p! cheers.

i love the ambience and the way they have done up the place. went in the afternoon lunch on a weekday and was pretty empty. not a big thai food fan actually.

food: we were a large group so we ordered corn cakes, papaya salad, raw mango salad and spring rolls for starters. the corn cakes with the honey chili sauce and papaya salad was good. the raw mango salad and spring rolls were very average and not somehting i'd expect here. ordered a clear noodle soup. i love the way they serve it in earthen pots. but i was surprised at the quantity - pitiful and nothing really great.

in main course we went with green and red thai curry with steamedriceand stir fry vegetables. the green curry was a tad better than the red though very average and nothing to write home about. the stir fry veg was decent but then again thats a standard dish you cant go wrong with.

service: service is really good unlike a lot of five star restos. probably amongst the best ive seen. i loved the way they had this little cloth in a dish which expands when they fill it with water to wipe your face with. they made sure everything was ok and if we needed anything else.

damages: spent about rs 2000 per person after a 30% discount. of course we did have a full meal with a few drinks but still not worth the price.

after coming back atleast 2 - 3 of us had bad throats so im definately skiping this place hence forth.

went back to an old favourite after a few years, and the food was still outstanding! the classics - papaya salad and corn cakes were as good as ever. tried the red curry with crushed peanuts which was great. also recommend the basil and curry paste friedriceand the pad ki mao. the hot thai chocolate soufflé was more of a tart but satisfyingly chocolately

one of the oldest but the best thai restaurant to relish thai cravings. recommended for all thai lovers! from the appetisers- raw mango with water chestnut, chicken satay, steam chicken dim-sums, to main course- fried chickenricewith sorted vegetables, paddy thai noodles and fish fry with oyster sauce and to end with assorted dessert platter and homemade ice creams- salted caramel, dark chocolate, fresh cashew and espresso. all in all a great lunch treat for our taste buds. loved the service and the staff. polite, gentle, quick and very quick in response.

finally we made it together after 3 years of last visit , on our best friends birthday on last sunday for lunch.
it is always pleasure to visit taj property and restaurants.
pictures says everything, we were so hungry that we didn’t click the pic (any ways thai food are simple in presentation ) and even taj serves simple way.
we ordered row papaya and row mango salad. i have never ever have tried such amazing mango salad , it’s 10 on 10.
regarding otehr dish , each and every dish were amazing apart from corn cake which we had day before at nara thai. you can’t compare both place but then too need some comment on that.

yes , missed our about mocktail and soup which didn’t impress me much but that depends on individual choice.

i’ve read through some of reviews and it’s pretty sad that all people can praise is the thai curry it reflect on how limited our palates can be
the true stars of this restaurant are
the foie gras one of the best dishes in the entire hotel
the scallops so different the sauce subtle and perfect
the steamed john dory with steamedricesuperb
grilled white prawns to die for
and the best desert the water chestnuts
go to this restaurant and eat these dishes your impression of thai food will be elevated to a new level

this one has long been on my wishlist cz of its great reviews..firstly full credit to decor and ambience..great intricate wooden carving on entire walls -such a beauty to eyes..service couldn’t be better,it was attention to detail..servers were extreme accommodating polite and welcoming,a smile never left their faces..

pattaya special cocktail-this one is blue curaco based and was really nice,sweetness adjusted to my palate
lit-as good as it could be

vegetarianricepancake topped with creamy tofu
good portion for 2,really thin pancake very generously filled with yumm fillings..the creamed tofu on top will balance the heat perfectly..

thai green curry with fragrant rice
full justice done ,extremely flavorful,really yummy
portions good again for 2 people

a must visit place

the president hotel, being right around the corner has always been a go to place for a comfy fine dine experience without having to take the pains of reservations or cabs. the service at thai pavilion was impeccable. the food was served hot and in record time. we ordered:
1. water chestnutsricetartlets - this was the star dish of the meal. the crispy tiny tarts filled with grated water chestnuts and corn had a sweet tangy taste. it was placed on a slice of carrot which added to the crunchy element of the dish.
2. thai spring rolls - the coating was thin which kept the rolls crispy and the filling was true to a veg palette. i’m not too fond of lemongrass and was glad that the stuffing didn’t have an overpowering taste of the same.
3. vegetable dimsums - the dimsums were pretty typical. the filling was tasty and the accompanied sauce was complimenting the dish but was quite disappointed with the plating.
4. chicken dimsums - the size of the dimsums was good and they were purely filled with tender pieces of chicken on the inside which was served with the same sauce as the veg dimsums. the outer covering was as soft as the chicken and really melted in the mouth
5. red thai curry - the portion size was good enough for one person but seemed like the number of pieces of chicken were less. the gravy was of the right thickness and had a balance of coconut and spice mix.
6. flat noodles with chilli garlic - flat noodles were very tasty. they had the right amount of spice in it.
7. baby corn and mushroom in black bean sauce - the vegetables were sorted in a black bean sauce and it gave a bit of a sour taste. i was expecting more of baby corn and mushroom rather than the other vegetables in the dish.

i would really like to give a special mention to the pumpkin crackers that were served before the starters. they were absolutely delicious and left us wanting a second helping. would highly recommend this place for an authentic thai meal for a special occasion.

outstanding hospitality. extremely polite staff and amazing food. the help recieved from the staff in choosing the dinner was valueable. worth the time and money. the mocktail with guava base and tangy flavour was nice. the fish cakes, and friedricewere succulent.the desserts were out of the world . the desert platter is highly recommended for a wonderfully "sweet" experience . the decor has been done tastefully and in sync with the theme. the ornate walls carved wood panels are impressive.

amazing ambiance and great food from the started like corn cakes to the spring rolls but the papaya salad is delicious worth driving a try.... the thai curry which is served with steamedriceis very delicious but spicy as well...👍🍛

now as the the name says thai pavilion this restaurent was only only for thai food.
if you want to have some scrumptious thai food and you ar ok with shelling some more few bucks then this is the place.

ambience and staff
ambience was typically thai decor, interiors were done quite ascthetically and beautifully. perfect for romantic dinner. specially if you want to propose your loved one then take him/her to this place and go ahead.

staff was superb, very very polite and friendly staff. never seen such a great staff
kudos to vivanta by taj for such a wonderful staff.
they help you to decide the menu according to your appetite level and in very friendly manner.

now food food food!!!

1. soup flavoured with lemongrass
the way they serve the soup in a authentic thai style bowl. that bowl gave me feeling that m in thailand.
taste was good, but i felt that lemongrass taste was bit more than it should be. other vegetables in soup was consistent and gave good flavour, even the consistency of soup was perfect. all was good except the lemongrass was bit more.

2. thai pi
this is was a mocktail. the pic is attached, we expected it was a coconut flavour, but we were wrong it was not at all a coconut floavoured drink. this mocktail should be tried as it had all together completely diffrent flavour.
taste it and see it :)

3.ricenoodles with herbs and garlic
this was awesom.. at first we were not sure howricenoodles will turn out but it was more than delicious. these noodles come with gravy. all the vegetables and thai sauces were perfectly blend together, mushrooms in this gave a completely diffrent taste. consistency of all veges were perfect. quantity is perfectly suffiecient for 2 ppl not more not less

4. assorted desert platter
if you are confuse which desert to select and your not able to make up your mind from various super yummy deserts, then dont worry just order this platter. this serves all desert in small quantity, by which you can enjoy all of them.
pasteries, mousse, cherry shorts and 1 is indo western delcicay. all four of them served in one platter makes it perfect.
there was nothing in platter which i did not enjoyed. everything was soooo yummmy and delicious. just loved it
burp!! :)

best thing about this place was that all the dishes were served in proper quantity, it was not that omg this is too much how will we finish!! ya, ohh this is so less we should have ordered more!!
no wastage of food and gives perfect satisfication!

i have visited this place for a lunch today and it was an amazing experience. i must say the ambiance was amazing.our table reserved was perfect. loved the idea of an open kitchen. we had everything veg over here. papaya salad and raw mango salad were awesome( hot and sour combination was perfect) both were full of flavours and freshness. along with rich tartlet in appetizers. in the main course tofu(it was so tender with powerpact flavours) with black bean sauce with stir fried coconut shruts also the thai green curry was so delicious it was full of flavours with perfect balancing of coconut milk and cashew curry. thai green curry withriceis a tremendous combination. in desserts we had an assorted platter which was so soothing. a big thanks to the server mr.chetan.he was very well mannered,gentle in serving also gave us proper recommendations which we enjoyed to fullest. he along with the other server staff told alot about the thai cuisine and given us a small tour of the kitchen. that was simply amazing.
last but not the least the beverages we had along with it were outstanding. had a great time there we my beloved onces. i will surely visit soon.
