this restaurant has never failed to impress ! dined here last night and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. the service has always been exceptional which i feel simply lifts up the whole experience of 'eating out'. ordered my staples and as usual everything was yum, even after all thefoodthat we ordered ( and completely polished off), we still managed to clean out the dark chocolate ice cream too simply because it was so yummy !!!

location -cuffe parade › vivanta by taj president, 90, cuffe parade, mumbai.

to begin with , i had dined at thai pavilion for my birthday which turned out super good. thai pavilion is the best destination for thaifoodin mumbai. pure genuine thaifoodis what you get here. you won’t be disappointed at all. everything was perfect from the ambience ,staff ,foodand desserts. the only worth 5 star restaurant in mumbai in terms of everything :) i felt so good and relived memories of bangkok and pattaya. i highly recommend this restaurant to visit atleast once and then you won’t stop revisiting it :p

every dish was unique and the flavours were so strong and real. kudos to the chef, you are truly amazing. as i told the staff it’s my birthday , they send a huge slice of strawberry cheesecake at the end and yes it was toothsome. truly a merry experience out here.

we had 1 mocktail, 2 appetizers, 1 rice ,1 curry and 1 dessert platter..

mocktail

farang marry (450) which is a super blend of guava and chilly , it’s yum. highly recommend .

appetizers

red snapper cakes (900)- oh my god , it was super delicious.
marinated chicken with peanut sauce (900)- just about okie, nothing great.
main course

spicy fried rice with roast curry paste and basil. (950)- prefect and full-flavoured.
kho pnp kai (950) – divine with full of flavours.
we took the dessert platter , which had assorted mini desserts. now all of them aren’t that great specially the chocolate ones , but omg water chestnut, pumpkin and creme brûlée is just too good. priced at 600.

 sub total – 4750 .. total tax – 863 grand total – 5613.

no doubt it’s expensive , but totally worth it once in a while…

i love the ambience and the way they have done up the place. went in the afternoon lunch on a weekday and was pretty empty. not a big thaifoodfan actually.

food: we were a large group so we ordered corn cakes, papaya salad, raw mango salad and spring rolls for starters. the corn cakes with the honey chili sauce and papaya salad was good. the raw mango salad and spring rolls were very average and not somehting i'd expect here. ordered a clear noodle soup. i love the way they serve it in earthen pots. but i was surprised at the quantity - pitiful and nothing really great.

in main course we went with green and red thai curry with steamed rice and stir fry vegetables. the green curry was a tad better than the red though very average and nothing to write home about. the stir fry veg was decent but then again thats a standard dish you cant go wrong with.

service: service is really good unlike a lot of five star restos. probably amongst the best ive seen. i loved the way they had this little cloth in a dish which expands when they fill it with water to wipe your face with. they made sure everything was ok and if we needed anything else.

damages: spent about rs 2000 per person after a 30% discount. of course we did have a full meal with a few drinks but still not worth the price.

after coming back atleast 2 - 3 of us had bad throats so im definately skiping this place hence forth.

the perfect place to enjoy delectable thai food. the ambiance gives you a feel like you're in a thai place. soft music soothes you while you enjoy your food.
to freshen you up, they first give you a hot towel which has lemongrass flavor.
later they serve thai flavored sushi which is complimentary.
thefoodis authentic and flavorful.
what we ordered-
tom yum soup
glass vermicelli soup
coconut soup
all of which had a perfect consistency and were piping hot, just the way a soup should be.
appetizers called for thai dim sum and corn cakes.
for main course we ordered pad thai noodles which had a perfect crunch of peanuts.
dessert was just superb. i called for a dark chocolate semifreddo with espresso ice cream.
overall my experience was fabulous. the service was also up to the mark.
had a great evening.

a place that never let's you down. it has the best thaifoodin mumbai. the green curry is delicious and we called for the pad thai noodles. their waterchestnut starter was to die for. the cherry on the cake was the toffee dessert. perfectly warm and soft. the only thing that is disappointing is that the tables are too close to each other.

this was my favorite place for thaifoodin mumbai however thefoodquality seems to have gone down considerably.

the mango/water chestnut salad was too sour. this was despite enquiring specifically from the staff before ordering - they had assured that given the mango season it won't be too sour.

the massaman curry was a bit salty. overall the balance of flavor, which the restaurant consistently delivered earlier, was missing. given how good thefoodhere used to be i guess the chef may have changed!

brilliant...without doubts thai pavilion is the best destination for thaifoodin india.
the restaurant is a five star hotel and obviously the rates are on higher sides but once you eat here you feels nirvana of thai food. i love there thai curry which is out of the world , all the flavours are blended well and vegetables are cooked to absolute perfection.
tempura n dimsums are simply superb.
in desserts i tried there coconut milk with water chastenut which was again outstanding.
hospitality is class like other taj hotels.

the ambience of the place is not quite up to the mark. service offered was good. we were seated promptly nfooddid not take long to arrive.foodwas quite average and did not taste any different from many other places serving the same cuisine. over all did not seem worth the money.

went back to an old favourite after a few years, and thefoodwas still outstanding! the classics - papaya salad and corn cakes were as good as ever. tried the red curry with crushed peanuts which was great. also recommend the basil and curry paste fried rice and the pad ki mao. the hot thai chocolate soufflé was more of a tart but satisfyingly chocolately

when you go to such restaurants you don't expect a strand of hair on your plate in the middle of the dinner. i was really enjoying the taste offooduntil this happened. even the smaller restaurants have now started taking care of this. i really didn't expect such kind of service in a taj restaurant.foodtasted yum though and service was quick but the whole hair incident blew me off. but the chef was kind enough to come out and apologize to us.
food - good
staff - very good
ambeince - good
service - poor ( cause of the hair incident ).

easily the best thaifoodin india, the thai pavilion would actually count as one of bangkok's better restaurants if it were located there. what makes the high quality and authenticity of the cuisine so unusual is that the restaurant is the favourite child of an indian chef: ananda solomon. like the famous australian chef, david thompson, who immersed himself in thai culture, chef solomon spent months in thailand, working in fancy places and ordinary restaurants before running a street stall in a small soi off sukhumvit road.some dishes, like the duck, have never left the menu but many others come and go as solomon takes more and more chances with the palates of his customers, betting that they will like authentic thai food. so far, at least, his guests have been happy to go along with his menu innovations.

this is not thaifood. ofcourse it’s edible , but if you know thaifoodthen this is not near it. i would expect a 5 star restaurant to import thai spices . i travel to all parts of thailand a lot , so i know. sorry thai pav , pls raise your standards if you truly wanna serve thai cuisine .
