we have the best oriental restaurant in town . there is nothing that one can criticize here. the , ambience, service and thefoodeverything is top notch. we have been here twice now and both the time such a gala time we had. it felt as if ahmedabad has a place where everything is "a" game with such affordable rates for a hotel like hyatt. now without any more bragging directly to  food 
frozen strawberry and grapes - this was a slurpee. crushed ice with strawberry and grapes, smooth texture and chilled (duh) to beat the heat absolutely a must have that too when its just fro rs. 98 
chicken garlic soup - this is an absolute comforting soup. egg drop  with bits of  chicken in a creamy broth with amazing flavor of garlic. had this both the time and consistency is impeccable. 
miso soup - such a unique taste !! loved every drop of it !! 
veg clear soup - the simplest of the dishes again a comfort soup for vegetarians.
ebi roll - ohh my god this was amazing !!!! sushi with center filling of prawn. absolute heaven 
shrimp tempura - crispy shrimp heaven with a sauce having sweet notes to it.
chicken bao - this is something you cannot have just 1. small sized bao with filling of chicken chunks in gravy of onions and flavorful seasonings. super soft almost like a fur ball soft , bao is heavenly.
the only sad part is they just have 1 bao - chicken and no variants at all.
dumplings 1. chicken 2. lamb 3. mushroom - for dumplings order any and they have perfected their art. just something we didn't like, it didn't suit our taste was the prawn dumpling, becuase it is seafood it remains moist on the inside of the dumpling. 
prawn yellow curry - superb size of prawns and flavorful curry, how could it be so perfect!! goes very well with sticky rice 
sliced lamb - almost minced lamb but chunky enough filled with superb flavour and spot on seasoning. cooked to perfection
caramele alaska - this was the best dessert out of the lot. chilled chocolate sauce ( yes, opposite to the hot sauce which is so common) poured over a spongy chocolatey sponge cake was again heavenly 
banofie pie - you don't get such a banofie pie in ahmedabad. perfect caramel, outer layer of crumbs and raw banana, just perfect !!
chef's special mille feuille - not reccomending the only thing in the entire menu we didn't really like . it was too much of whipped cream! tasted of nothing else.
the fun element is they serve some amazing amuse bousche right after appetizer and before main course, it helps to cleanse the palette. the yoghurt based amuse bouche was super yummy itself and comes witha little bit of drama. the second amuse bouche is wasabi sorebt definitely cleanses the palette and makes for the right taste for wasabi.

being honest i had never tried oriental cuisine but this place made me fall in love with it!

greatfoodat a great price!

the ambiance is really lovely! prior reservation are required! you can just call and book slots!

it’s not just restaurant it’s an experience!

you can actually see chef cooking live! as well as you can cook by your own too!

from soup to dessert in everything you will find unique flavours. even after so much of qualitative and quantitative aspects, it is not going to be heavy for your pocket!

dim sums, sushi’s and alaska (dessert) highly recommend!

this is the oriental place ahmedabad needed! it was something that you never realised to wanted it until you saw it! all thanks to rohan bhatt from fia's recommendation, i discovered this place and have been falling it love with it more and more, each and everytime i visit it! this was only my second visit and i already got a customised napkin. the service was on point! a recommendation for each one! ask the waiters, the manager or the chefs to select your order as thefoodis so authentic and varied. they understand your pallate well and suggest based on that! i have no particular recommendations to give as each and everything is amazinggg!

yet the desserts steal the show especially the burnt ice-cream! it's something you have never tasted! the pallate cleanser are a surprise for sure! very very strongly recommended!

the room that once used to house nonya in the hyatt near the lake, they now have a state of the art tapenyaki restaurant. a first of a kind for the residents and how marvellously they 've executed it! the city couldn't have had a better introduction to the orient!

spacious and large. the staff is courteous and helpful. the menu is something that would really catch your eye! it is so nicely done that you can order a lot of dishes at one go and it won't bite you hard on your wallet! thefoodis cooked in front of you which is super fun and just how tapenyaki is done. you can see what goes into yourfoodas it is all done in front of you and eating has never been such fun!

from dumplings to soup to noodles to prawns and mutton, everything was spot on! every single time and i have already been there 5 times love it to the core. why so? cause of their bao! the steamed buns which the delicious stuffing are to die for! and this is the best place in the whole town to have them! come to the iced drinks or the burnt ice cream dessert, it is all so great that i cannot have enough of it all. a lovely new place. you should try it out today! trust me, you won't regret it. :)

this restaurant has an amazing story behind it'sfood& a lot of research has gone into it's making. this is what makes it so unique. the ambience is subtle & classy. thefoodboth veg & non-veg is to die for. i personally loved the strawberry with grapes & cucumber-mint mocktails. they have an amazing range of soups. tried out their dumplings, sushi roll, & a lot more. the flavors are specially customised according to a person's taste. the staff is very friendly & the service is amazing.

their major idea is to cater a large part of indian visitors and not entirely the expats. such a concept was new to me and i am sure one of its kind in a city like ahmedabad.

another major highlight of the restaurant’s concept is the live kitchen. aptly named- the oriental grill, one can have the experience of watching theirfoodbeing made live in front of their table and not just that, you may also join the chef by trying your hands at cooking the east asian cuisine.

the chef also customizes thefoodas per one’s choice- for eg, the choice of sauces, the choice of noodles or rice, the amount of spices, everything is prepared right in front of you as per your customization.

with a large population of ahmedabad favoring the vegetarian and jain food, it is absolutely amazing to have one such five-star restaurant where one out of the six grills is entirely catering to the strict vegetarians.

the menu has been designed in such a way that the prices are quite reasonable but the quantity at the same time is such that would be sufficient just for two. so you might as well, enjoy at least three-four dishes at a reasonable amount and have an experience of trying multiple dishes, yet not feel very heavy at the end of your meal.

isn’t that one of a kind experience? hmm, with such a concept, we were sure the evening would be worth looking forward to. read more on my blog link here...

i absolutely love when there's a new concept restaurant in town, but to have one that executes everything so well is just a bless for us amdavadis 😀

we had a dinner at this newly opened restaurant - oriental grill at hyatt vastrapur and were welcomed by bright and open spaces, its a very well designed restaurant with comfortable sitting around grills.

the staff that guided us to our table and introduced us to the concept and our chef for the night was extremely corteous and friendly! the chef was extremely friendly as well and we knew were in for a very good time.

we had a couple of mocktails to start dinner along with a yummy soft shell crap roll - which was one of the best things i've had in ahmedabad in a long long time! the chef made amazing garlic chips for us on the grill which was super yummy and very different from what i've ever had. next was a stir fry chicken starter and an edamame beans started that was cooked in garlic oil 😍 next on the grill was egg fried rice that was to be paired with a super duper delicious chicken in black bean sauce! there was also a fish dish (i forget the name) - i don't usually enjoy seafoodbut this was so so so tasty and tender and all the good things. the fish cut like butter 😄. there was also a mutton dish which for all red meat lovers out there is definitely a must try! last but not the least was the highlight of our dinner - the prawn thai curry in yellow sauce!!! my god this was so so so so soooooooooooooooo good that i ended up licking the bowl 😄 i'm always going to get this when i come to this restaurant. you can't come here and leave without trying this dish for sure!

we were pretty full after all this gluttony but then the desserts seems so good we wanted to try almost everything and i'm so glad we did! 😄 the first thing we had was fried ice cream in which a bowl of ice cream was just poured on the grill and literally cooked, i had no idea how this would taste when it come to us but it was a pure delight! it was super yummy and tasted like toffee, sticky and yummy goodness! then we had a wasabi based sorbet which was served in a classy box - yummy again and stunning presentation 😀 then there were two pastry items - one crunchy chocolate dish (sorry i forget the name) and one was a bannoffee. both this were super well made, they were absolutely sinful and just so so so tasty you couldn't leave a drop on your plates! banana lovers should definitely they the bannoffee you'll be blown away! then again all thefoodis so good it'll blow you away!

it was an absolute pleasure to visit this restaurant and i'm glad they have got everything right - from the menu to the ambiance, the concept, the service but most importantly the execution and the taste which are both amazing! 😀😀😀

i'm definitely going to be visiting this place a lot and you should be doing the same!

it's a 5/5 in all aspects for me 😁

☕🍯the very own hyatt at ahmedabad which was a host to the landmark visit of xi xinping, the chinese premiere to ahmedabad soon after the new govt. at the centre was sworn in. as i walked into the main entrance post the courteous vallet staff guiding me in with a radiant smile, i visualised how pm modi stood at the same entrance memorizing a sentence or 2 in chinese to welcome his guest.

⚓🗽🗼✈️the team hyatt has undergone a tremendous research and brought in modern oriental dining experience with the chef in form of tg’s(which stands for the grills)-the oriental grill at the first floor.

⚓the concept and its significance

🍷🥪🥘as we settled we were served the following sumptuous fare

☕burnt garlic clear vegetable soup

☕miso soup with spring onions, tofu and wakame

🍣🍯next in line were the dimsums which appeared like the colourful cousins of the extra terrestrial from the steven speilberg flick the et.

🍣🍯 cauliflower in red and chinese napa

🍣🍯chilli garlic with butter bean hargow, onion , garlic , ginger and chilli

🍣🍯assorted mushroom soy bao

🍣🍯shanghai style with shitake mushroom, spring onion, truffle oil

🍣🍯bean curd, carrot with curried bao

all dimsums were decent in taste and well made

⛷️🏂next part was like the change of sets on a mega drama show...entered a fine young lad dressed in a chinese martial art outfit with a head band as though he was about to chop off the table where we were sitting...gently greeting us and saying huanying in chinese he set off to turning on the live grills which are the moot point of this concept ...

⛷️🏂with a clitter clatter and clang clang of his tools and artistic dicing, mixing and matching of vegetables, a slight dash of oils, butter and benevolent sprays of water he churned out delights which composed of the following

🥗🌮vegetables and beancurd/rice with garlic spinach mixed with chilli and oyster sauce

🥗🌮five treasure vegetables in holsin sauce

🥗🌮spicy minced soya garlic, chilli soy

🥗🌮tofu steak spicy ginger bean sauce

🥗🌮steamed japanese rice

🥗🌮sticky friend rice , garlic, baby corn, mushroom, onion, carrot, basil and light soy.

🥗🌮burnt chilly garlic friend noodles with onion, spring onions, light soy with white cabbage.

🎯done perfectly well with chef rishbabh's stance of bending to an angle of 45 degrees and grinding out live spices to the meal was a joy to watch

🎯the desserts were an icing on the cake to add culmination to the entire experience

🎯creme banana banofiee pie

🎯noughat caramel alaska cake with warm chocolate ganache.

recently we visited this new restaurant in @hyattahmedabad , tgs oriental grill and this place has become our favourite restaurant ever since! such a beautiful and classy ambience with the most deliciousfoodin ahmedabad! the chef over there skill fully prepares the main course live before our eyes. the staff are really friendly and explain the dishes quite nicely. thefoodalthough was the best part. every single dish was so tasty and beautifully presented. personally, our favourite was the chicken bao and we truly recommend to try that once!

"tg's - the oriental grill " , looking for a fine dine experience ? this is the place for you ! this place serves authentic oriental cuisine. there is a grill next to every table and the chef prepares thefoodas per our taste ... isn't it great ? the menu has so much to offer . also they have set five , seven and nine course menu . the staff is corteous and kind. in frame :-


frozen strawberry and grapes :- modern version of the street golas that we have . perfect way to unwind in summer heat . summer essential indeed ! (5/5)


veg and nonveg dimsums :- veg dimsums had veggie-chilli-garlic stuffing and non-veg dimsums had chicken stuffing in it . dimsums were properly cooked .have never had such authentic dimsums !(4/5)


chef's special steamed vegetable bao in barbeque sauce :- a steamed filled bun , the filling is tangy , spicy and delicious . loved the taste . (4/5)


chilli garlic noodles :- authentic chilli garlic noodles with strong flavour of garlic . the noodles were boiled to perfection . love how the chef made this dish right in front of us as per our taste (5/5)


caramel alaska cake with chilled chocolate sauce :- sheer treat to your taste buds . perfect way to end your meal . however was disappointed with the quantity . but a must try ! (4/5)

i went to the opening of this wonderful place in hyatt with a novel concept of seating around a live counter. thefoodwas amazing and the setting just about perfect. though being in gujarat, one did miss the liquor. i had the dimsums and clear soup were decent but the vegetable in thai sauce was amazing as was the chilli guvava mocktail.
a special mention for the staff who were really patient in helping me with the tounge twisters of the names of the dishes.

had been here few days back for the dinner and it was a wonderful experience to have such kind of meal in ahmedabad. had tasted the authentic orientalfoodhere for the first time and it is damnn good...they are having teppanyaki griddle for each and every table so you can enjoy live cooking infront of you..

had opted out for seven course set meal..

started with burnt garlic veg clear soup..mild soup with distinct flavour of garlic and it was nice.

in started we had carrot ginger chilli bean dimsum...and it was one of the finest dimsum i ve ever had...

then came the crispy veg tempura roll...this was amazing...plated beautifully and tasted heavenly...

before moving towards to main course they gave amuse bouche..a palate cleanser made of something like yogurt sphere ... just pops in your mouth..it was great.

in mains they served five treasure vegetables with garlic sauce and sticky fried rice with veggies..

then cmee the desert..caramel alaska cake with warm chocolate ganache...it was mind blowing..one of the finest desert i have had in recent times...

we tried some mocktails out of which frozen strawberry and grapes and orchid sour were worth to try...

overall had enjoyed a lot and totally impressed with the food,ambiance,service and all....
