i went there with my husband on our wedding anniversary. loved the place and the food names are really difficult to pronounce but damn tasty.
should definitely check out this place and especially for amise bouche ( the one in shot glasses covered in dry ice). it’s complimentary from the restaurant and it’s served before main course.

my first experience at teppanyaki style of cooking. as expected from hyatt, the staff is extremely courteous and welcoming. the sitting arrangements are great. your starters and drinks are cooked in the kitchen and served to you, the presentation is satisfactorily alluring.
the main course is cooked by the chef infront of you on the grill.

now, the food. most of the servings are single portions and priced fairly (considering the place). the food is mouth watering. you may find it difficult to choose from the menu if it's your first time with this sort of cuisine, but the simplest suggestion is to read the description. i went with my mom and dad on my birthday and decided to order multiple items including shrimp, basa, salmon, pork, lamb and chicken.

following are some of the items from our order:
ebi cracker roll
chicken garlic soup
sea food basil soup
dim sum prawn shao mai
dim sum chicken shao mai
hunan style lamb dumpling
chef's special bbq chicken bao

for the main course we ordered
salmon steak with shitake mushrooms
sliced pork belly
sliced lamb shoulder
fried rice & noodles

drinks:
ice tea.

once you are done with the starters, they serve you a palate cleanser that is really interesting. the accompanying images where you see 3 shot glasses and lots of mist. that's the one. it's base is yoghurt. forgot what they call it.

all in all, a great experience.

i had really good teppanyaki after a long time.

it was fun to watch our cook, aayush, japanese headband and all, stir-frying with balletic grace, on the cooking station at the table, veg noodle and treasure veggies. what he dished out was simple and delicious. and then there were his other wonderful recommendations, guavarita and caramel alaska.

the ambience was welcoming, minus the loud music, and the service warm and prompt.

hyatt vastrapur is becoming one of my favourite food destinations.

an authentic asian experience in the city of ahmedabad, this became an instant favorite. reservation recommended- there are two slots of 7 30pm and 9 30 pm in the evenings. there's an ala carte menu, which is exhaustive and allows a wide variety of dimsum combinations, since its priced per peice.... which was the most exciting part! after trying out 3-4 types of dimsums ( veg, chicken and lamb) we went ahead and ordered the main course- a five vegetable gravy which had an excellent flavorful sauce, and a lamb gravy ( don't remember the names, i think it was hoisin, wish they had put up the menu here!) with the chefs special fried rice. finished off with lipsmacking desserts- banoffee pie and alaskan cake! the staff was very polite and the live counter experience added a sense of adventure, and allowed for an interaction with the chef - always ready to expand my knowledge about food! this place will have me coming back quite regularly, the whole set up temporarily transports one to a high end new york oriental restaurant experience!

what an amazing place this is!!

we went to this place without a reservation and we thought we might get a table. our luck worked out and we could manage getting a table.

after entering this place we were just amazed looking at the set-up. it's designed in such a way that every table has a live cooking plate where a chef comes and cooks as per the order placed.

not only this, the food served was so good and delicious that we became fan of this place. portions available here are designed in such a smart manner that you can order again and again as per your requirement but you won't waste food.

we ordered and loved,
1. veg bao,
2. twisted potato,
3. veg sushi's,
4. thai curry and rice &
5. banoffee.

in terms of pricing this place is literally moderate. cost per person won't be high even after eating a lot as per the standards of the restaurant.

loved the service here which is the most important thing when we are at a restaurant. initially we had an okayish experience but later after we clarified the same we got this amazing steward named laksh who took care of us really well.

last but not the least, this place is fabulous and we would love to visit it again when we are in ahmedabad.

excellent food. there’s nothing more to say! really high quality ingredients that are cooked to perfection in front of you, according to your taste!
i was bit reluctant to visit as i’m a vegetarian, but the team seems to have done extensive research and designed a menu that suits the indian palate.. not much funky stuff yet you get a feel of the cuisine.. like the wasabi condiment placed on the table is wasabi (.. or horseradish probably..) and spring onion, so it’s not too overwhelming for people who get a cultural shock when they go to a specialty restaurant! so.. the menu allows you to experience the cuisine without pushing your boundaries too much! and did i mention that the food is delicious? it is!
the chili garlic edamame beans is a must try. mocktails are delicious. i tried strawberry and grape granita, and guavarita and they were yum! no synthetic crap and not overly sweet. the zucchini fritters and tempuras were good as well. the dim sums and bao can be better, but they’re still quite nice.
it’s a great place for vegetarians as there are as many vegetarian options as there are non-vegetarian options. you get to try a couple of amuse-bouche, so that adds to the pleasant dining experience.
the staff is efficient and polite. chef hari made our dinner and he is really warm and friendly, asked about our food preferences customised the flavours as per our inputs. a great person to talk to if you have any culinary queries!
all the staff of the hotel.. the security, valet, the people at the reception.. is friendly and attentive. thank you for a great evening, would visit again soon :)

although i am a vegetarian, i still have this one a try due to the excellent reviews. to be honest, it will be difficult to be utterly satisfied with vegetarian menu and there might be few starters which you might not like but as you go ahead, you get into the tone..
the food is good, but as i said, not great for vegetarian but will give 4/5 for the splendid service and very disciplined people. the ambience is also pleasing 5/5 and soothing to eye.
for good japanese food, this is the one..

hyatt being one of the nice property in ahmedabad and i specialise love their high celling foyer. curt staff with utmost etiquette. amazing experience of private dining. the main attraction, teppanyaki grills(was difficult to remember) and the main course cooked right in front of you. chef invited to join and trying hands at cooking. the chef also customise’s as per our choice.

after cancelling at least three times, we finally could visit tg's. the restaurant is in hyatt, ahmedabad one on the first floor. the space is well managed with multiple cooking stations or grills through the restaurant. i noticed there were private dining options as well. if you are a couple you might not get an exclusive table and will be asked to sit around the grills which is ideal what one should prefer to experience love cooking.
now, we were in a dilemma whether to pick ala carte or pick from their 7 or 9 course meals. i picked the 7 course non-veg and my husband went ahead with 9 course vegetarian with some alterations here and there. i wish i had the menu to explain what all was in our course meals but there were a combination of tofu, spinach, shitake mushrooms, other vegetables, soup, salad, dimsum and chicken-salmon-shrimp (non-veg). we also ordered some mocktail separately.
most of the food was cooked from inside but things like rice or noodles or some main course dishes will be cooked by chefs right in front of you.
honestly, the food was nice but it's recommend not to go for the course meals especially if you are someone with a small stomach. everything that i was served was good for two people.
everything was nice, the food was cooked well. i wish they add more varieties especially in vegetarian options.

this place is just class apart. it's totally for the classes & not masses. in last 15 days, i have been here twice. if you understand food & authenticity of cuisines only then you must step into this restaurant. we had the best dinner in ahmedabad here.
from soup, dim sums, starters, main course to desserts, we had it all - everything we had was totally non - veg. this place has a unique seating arrangment - they have live kitchen & they cook all your dishes in front of you. everything served is full of flavours & lip smacking. among the desserts, their best was burnt vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with almonds - it's a must for all. i can't stop myself thinking about this place all the time.

okay so yesterday was my second time here, my first being in the first week they had opened ... ! i loved it then, i loved yesterday ... ! 😍

the staff is so polite, the brightly lit place with the seating brilliantly done around the teppanyaki grills, the sounds of the chef's preparing the main courses right in front of you, it all feels very lively ... 😁😊

now about with the food i'll talk about everything that i've tried here .. !! 🙂

burnt garlic chicken soup
satisfaction in a bowl, is what i shall call this. tender chicken, a warm comforting broth, with hints of ginger and the unmistakable nuttiness of the burnt garlic. i would be happy with a big bowl of this on a cold winter day.

lamb & chicken dim sum
okay vegetarian or non vegetarian, one things for certain the pastry on the outside is beautifully thin. individually speaking, succulent, juicy lamb with a hint of spice, and then there's the chicken dim sum, with moist chicken with the ginger shining through. you cannot stop at having just one. another brilliant thing that they've done is the dim sum are priced individually so instead of having a plateful of the same dim sum, you can be adventurous and try out so many others.

ebi cracker
all the sensory experiences of having a sushi but with flavours that one is familiar with 😊
super crunchy shrimp tempura, the smoothness of the cream cheese and the sriracha mayonnaise, along with the chew of the rice .. !! you get a little sweetness from the pickled pepper, while the cream cheese, takes the edge of the heat from the sriracha 😍
if the crunch from the shrimp wasn't enough there's a tempura crumb sprinkled in there too for some extra crunch action 😊 you want additional bags of flavor try the soy ginger and a creamy yuzu dipping sauce ... 😊
what a wonderful way of introducing sushi to a demographic 👏 😊
get your chopstick game on and give this a try ☺️ it's not just about one dish, but the entire experience 😊

american roll
you have your perfectly done salmon, and your avocado rolled up in some sushi rice, the creaminess from the mayonnaise on top, and then there's the pop from the fish roe that keeps your plate excited.

wasabi tempura prawns
small bites sized prawns in a super crunchy tempura batter, you get the little heat from the wasabi, balanced with an acid, an absolutely delightful plate of food.

bar-be-qué chicken bao
okay so this was my first experience with a bao, so i don't have a reference in my head to compare it to .. ! but if bao is as delicious as this, then i won't mind having it on a daily basis .. ! 😍 a soft pillowy bao, the chicken, succulent and dressed in a light barbeque sauce with a hint of sweetness, the crunch from the vegetables and the micro green's adds a splash of colour .. 😍

lamb in a black pepper sauce
succulent strips of lamb, in a rich peppery sauce, the vegetables in there not overdone, still retain their crunch and gives you some texture against the lusciousness of the sauce and the succulent lamb. this goes absolutely brilliantly with the sticky rice that they have.

prawns yellow curry
plump, juicy prawns in a coconut milk based yellow curry, with hints of ginger, garlic, lemon grass, and the vegetables again retaining the bite, gives you texture and flavour too. paired with their sticky rice, make for a very very satisfactory meal. honestly, give a goan some rice and a delicious curry, he's happy.

banoffee pie
i would go to say that it's probably the best banoffee i have had in town. i could go on about how many textures are in the there, how the flavours play off well against each other, but i won't do that. just go, try this .. ! go go go .. !

another beautiful thing that th's has done is introduce the concept of an amuse bouche ( little bite sized portions, the correct term being "hors d'oeuvre", which differ from an appetizer in that they're not ordered off the menu but are served complimentary by the chef and the flavours are at his or her discretion ) i've gotten the chance to try 3, watermelon sorbet, wasabi sorbet and yogurt & jaggery. watermelon is good, light, fresh, you get the watermelon, the the yogurt & jaggery, in terms of mouth feel is completely opposite to the sorbets, you gulp down this semi set sphere that's served cold and just pops in your mouth making you go " ohh that was unexpected ", once you get past the theatre of it, you get the umaminess of the jaggery and then the slight tang from the yogurt. but by far the most interesting is the wasabi sorbet, refreshingly cold, a little hear from the wasabi, a little sweetness, then in the background there's the acid from the lemon or lime or possibly some rice wine vinegar, this will totally wake your palate up and prepare you for the next course.

also not just their non vegetarian, i had a chance to sample some of their vegetarian offerings too and 'm blown over .. ! very rarely you come across a place that does both very well, this surely is one of them.

apart from all this what impressed me the most is the fact that they have taken the trouble to study and research the local palate and have adapted their sushi to suit that local palate, which is a beautiful way of introducing sushi to a populace that might not take to it with enthusiasm if you were to serve it as it is. but if you think you'll not get proper sushi here, think again, they do have sushi and sashimi on the menu for you to try.

okay i'll stop now so you can actually go try it all for yourself. go go go.

a well deserved 5 out of 5.

tepanyaki is one of the finest way to eat japanese cuisine. unfortunately, a vegetarian goes practically gasping for breath in tokyo's tepanyaki. but why don't we go to our backyard in our city.
tg, perfect ambience, noisy though.

we ordered edmame and pokchoy, sauteed to perfection. sushi is something you would cherish and since my preference is maki , i went ahead with that. palate cleansers are served in style with liquid nitrogen.
rice with vegetables and burnt garlic was good too.
cooked vanilla ice cream is fun. not great to look at though. a non creamy vanilla ice cream is spread as crepe on griddle and scraped off. served with almond slivers, sure is different from usual.

one star minus here is for two reasons. despite my explanation to servers, they found it hard to believe that there are people who are aware of japanese cuisine. eat with chopsticks and know about cleansers. they keep doling out wrong info.
i left a tip in the box in which bill is given. the guy picked it up, rattled it in front of us to ensure there was tip.
kinda funkill.
