great decor. the restaurant is decorated very well and when you walk in you feel like your in a very fancy restaurant. the service was great and food was tasty. great wine menu and the carpaccio was delicous.

the 1.0 came from the lasagna which was spot on. we got the carpaccio which was quite bland, bone marrow sauce was very yummy though. the best part was the dessert but even then the cheesecake was incredibly underwhelming. the feature fish was plain. just plain. i wouldn't come back and it wasn't worth a visit. service was slow but our waiter had four tables seated at the same time so it wasn't exactly his fault. wasn't checked on our appetizers and dessert courses.

next up was teatro. it was my first time stepping into teatro and i was wowed by its decor. it looked fancy yet comfortable from their choice to use tall couches for several of its seating. on top of that, it was a very bright and open restaurant, something that i did not expect from looking at the building from the outside. teatro's rendition was a deconstructed poutine that consisted of a fried potatoes, reconstructed cheese curd, cheese foam, and gravy meringue. it was definitely an innovative dish.

very good food, but very overpriced. definitely a place to go to on special occasions or when you're not covering the tab! ;)

if you are looking for high end italian food and a wine list that will blow you away this is your place. their food takes influences from northern italy and is always coordinated with what is "in season". teatro's chef, dominique moussu, amazes with his a

food was excellent, service was ehhh.... the food was excellent at teatro, fresh and flavourful. yum!
however the service was only ok. when we walked into teatro, we were greeted by this girl who did not smile, at all. she took us to our table and that was it, didnt say anything and she looked rather annoyed & pissed off. very unpleasant. our server was good but not great. when i asked him what he would recommend for dessert, his reply was "hm.. the tiramisu and the creme burlee has been on the menu for 15 years." i asked him, "how is the red velet cake?" he said, "i don't get a lot of order of that". not that there is anything really wrong with that, but as a good/professional server, i think he could have described the tastes to me and maybe be a little more enthusiastic about the food.

great ambiance.  great building.  feels like you've stepped out of calgary for a couple of hours.  staff is knowledgable, menu is delightful, and the wine list is great.  will definitely be going back!!

bolognese was a waste of an empty bowl. bolognese was too salty and otherwise tasteless, dull - take it off the menu

shaved cheese was nice but no flavor otherwise

unfortunately the place gets a little quiet by 830 even on a saturday which took away from the "good time" vibe i was looking for.  food and service were both good i had the seafood lasagna and laura had the pollo.  drinks were also pretty good.  overall it was a good time but not a spectacular visit.

wow! absolutely fabulous dining! i was there with a large group. the room beautiful and warm. the wine was endless and at the end of the night they recorked the unfinished bottles and gave them to us to take home. each course was out of this world! you just have to find the right occasion to try it out.

great experience! the food and service were excellent. the building was very clean. for being such a large open space, it was very intimate and comfortable.

it's a very special place with european style architecture and decor. it looks upscale but prices are not too bad especially if you are not a big drinker or eater :) it's a good thing that they offer two different size of paste, so that you can have more courses. potato soup with pecan and leek is tasty and creative. orecchietta with asparagus/mushroom and spagettoni? carbonara are both quite rich. spagettoni carbonara would be better without parmigiano cheese on the top in my opinion as it’s rich enough. sometimes i think they put too much efforts instead of respect the original italian recipe though. carrot soup is special with some sourness , which is quite appetite opening, haha. food were presented nicely and service was pleasant. it's a good place for a fine date or anniversary in my opinion.
