tasty's burgers and fries

a decent expensive burger. my wife and i went up and tried tasty burger the other day. she liked her vege burger, i thought the cheesburger i had was a pretty good, sort of char broiled. we had some fries too. mine were a bit soggy. we had a couple sodas and i think it was about $20. it is a semi- fast food place. you go up and order and someone brings it out. located in an old gas station.burgersare pretty much the whole menu. i am saying that i liked it just based on the fact the food was ok...... but lets face it, it's a hamburger. if there is one thing you can get at any restaurant it's a hamburger. it is also a pretty expensive hamburger. i am not going to go back as i don't think it is a particularly good value, but they did a decent job with the one item they sell.

greatburgers& shakes. got there before 12 noon today. good thing because after we ordered the line got really long. parking is an issue. you may have to find a place to park & walk to the restaurant. staff was friendly. we ate outside and had a cool cat named felix ride by on his 3 wheel bike selling fresh roasted peanuts. he whipped out a harmonica & played a quick tune, very entertaining. if you're in the area and want a great burger, fries & milkshake be sure to give them a try.

veggieburgersand cheese fries. i love that they have the most delicious veggie burger i ever had and they give you lots of delicious fries. regular and sweet potato fries with different seasonings. the service is also wonderful.

turkey burger!. so turkeyburgersusually aren't that great, and they aren't that easy to find at fast food places either right? well i decided i wanted to be a little less unhealthy when i went there and i ordered one- i went off menu and just wanted their regular cheeseburger with turkey instead, i ordered one- and a creamsickle float. both were amazing. the turkey was juicy and really flavorful, not dry or "pattylike" it was so good, i actually went back in and ordered a second one. it was just as good. yes, it is a little expensive but not really anymore than you'd spend at 5 guys or another great burger place, if you are in fernandina, find them and try it out!

rode the motorcycle 140 miles to get there with a few friends for lunch. quickly discovered there was little to no parking at the location. parked on the sidewalk and stood in line to order. their burger patties are only 1/4lb so if you want something bigger than a mcdonald's cheeseburger you will need to order two or a double patty burger. ordered mid rare but they are so small and thin it is hard to control temp and mine was overdone. ordered spicy sweet potato fries which were very good and burger was still "tasty". went back in for a chili dog because i was still hungry. the dog was very good and snapped with each bite. overall a good experience. to me theburgerswere good but not great enough to go back unless i was close by.

absolutely the best burger i've had in years. i ordered the two patty with lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickle and onion. meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned. i ordered the southern style fries which were handcut and seasoned with sea salt. buddies ordered bacon and ranchburgersand sweet potato fries with a "butta - sugah" dipping sauce. they have 3 different types of sauces for the sweet potato fries. also other seasonings for the handcut fries including old bay. here for another week and plan on at least one more visit to this great burger place.

delicious!. omg yum! fun place, fantastic burgers! chocolate shake topped with whip cream....heavenly! we attempted to eat fries but the burger and shake were way to filling.... recommend burger and fries in one visit and the over the top shake another time.....

bestburgersin the state!. awesomeburgersin a great location - an old gas station. i had the half pounder and it was awesome. the shakes are killer.....the whole meal was decadent. very clean with a great and friendly staff. if your in the area-go!

inexpensive and yummy. we were headed towards ciao's italian place but the smell of theseburgerswas hard to pass up. an obvious local favorite we dined at the packed gas station now restaurant and so glad we did. would pass the chili fries next time but theburgerswere hand made and great! we are staying at the hoyt house and may have to drop in for lunch tomorrow!

see my review at the beginning of the month? well its now the end of the month, and i have enjoyed five tastyburgerssince then. i dont care if i have to park on the roof. each one as "tasty" as the last. ok so now an obsession of mine. in my top five of all time. you looked them up on urbanspoon and read the reviews just eat their already, ok!

been by a thousand times and parking was always a nightmare so i never stopped, rookie mistake.today i lucked out on a sunday at 2pm with parking so enough was enough. plus i have yet to find "the burger" to satisfy my fix. ordered a double cheese and chili cheese fries with jalapinos. i recommend the cheese on the side as they sog up the fries quick. the fries were great with chili seasoning and cheedar cheese sauce all over. the burger was all the way with tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles, and special sauce. they have the size of veggies down to just enough so not to overwhelm the burger or your mouth. the meat had a good crust and juicy hot from the flat top. the sauce was like a mix of ketcup, mayo, garlic, and chili powder which lent enough seasoning as not to cover the burger with ketcup or mustard. the seasoning on that steel will grow with time and only make them even better. the atmosphere is great, an old gas station with seating inside and out. great place for a great burger that is in my top five of all time.

tastys is yummy!!!. had lunch there today... it was fantastic.... fresh meat, not frozen patties.... great flavor, friendly service... very kid friendly environment.burgerswere great, fries were great... good portions for price. great milkshakes too...

burger of the day is where it's at. i've enjoyed their regular cheeseburger, but i'm more interested in things that i can't find anywhere else. i've had the slaw burger with pepperjack cheese, and the bacon, egg and cheese burger. those were absolutely great. they cook theburgersat about medium, which is perfect! they're juicy and full of flavor.

being that we're in florida, and the weather generally permits it, it'd be nice to see some more outdoor dining. this place can be packed with only a handful of tables available.

service is friendly, food is great, and they even have a decent beer selection that isn't boring.

great burger and prime location!. tasty's is just what fernandina beach needed - a great burger joint that uses fresh ingredients and brings a vibrant atmosphere to downtown. my wife and i have been 4 times since the grand opening and it gets better each time as the restaurant continues to mature. while tasty's does offer sweet potato fries as an option, i recommend the regular or parmesan fries. they are freshly cut with a generous amount of sea salt. theburgersare delicious and quality meats are used. i also highly recommend a milkshake to accompany the burger and fries. they are hand scooped with real ice cream and top off the meal nicely. the recent special is a vanilla milkshake with jalapeños. sounds bizarre but is actually very good. the initial taste is vanilla ice cream but you also begin to taste a small hint of jalapeño...very unique. our go-to milkshake is chocolate with oreo cookies. tasty's also has a nice selection of craft beers at a reasonable price. one suggestion would be 1) not charging $0.50 for the tasty sauce and simply including in the price of theburgersor 2) giving customers a side of sauce, as the burger could use a more generous amount of sauce if you're paying extra.

overall, great burger, fries, milkshakes and a friendly staff. we will continue to dine here and support the local community.

an instant fixture. tasty's pitches itself as "a fresh alternative to fast food". it's a modern version of a vintage burger stand. it's definitely better than fast food chains, tastier and more authentic, and you feel much better eating there than down the street at the chains. it feels like more of a neighborhood gathering place, and since it's right there on centre across from the farmers market on saturdays, it has a really nice community feel and a classic one at that. plus the people are really nice.

theburgersare cooked nicely, have a flavorful char, and come out piping hot. the buns are nicer and somehow softer and with a butterier crust than your usual fast food stiff sponge. the fries are good and they've got sweet potato or regular as well as various flavorings. great shakes and a nice beer selection. they've got other items on the menu such as hot dogs and shrimp rolls but for me it will be a burger destination.
