sushi village

i love this place so much.greatservice,greatfood. i go there so much that the staff know me and my boyfriend and bring us our usual drinks without even having to ask. i do wish that the sushi cost less to take home, and that you would receive a loyalty stamp when you order a takeout equivalent to the price of a meal. i would also advise to stay away from the non traditional japanese items such as the chicken wings, those are pretty nasty. but those are very small complaints considering every thing else is perfect. i wish i could eat there every single day.

best ayce sushi in the east. we've been here so many times and everyone, even the kids love it. the sashimi, sushi, tempura & soups are alwaysgreatand every once it a while heavenly. i find the dumpling shells too heavy and thick and a few of the assorted donburi and teppanyaki dishes are weird tasting. but maybe we're asking too much of a restaurant. if you love fresh tasting sashimi, skip the others and come here.

recent visit. since sushi village opened its doors in orleans, it became my favorite
sushi restaurant. i tried many places in orleans - none of them came close to sushi village with service, menu selection and quality of the food.

we always felt welcome as soon we entered the restaurant by its owner ann. the service is at all times professional by all of the sushi village waitstaff - particularly lu.
no one ever mentions the chefs who make it always happen. on all our visits to sushi village we never had our orders mixed up or forgotten - not like many sushi restaurants i have been prior the opening of sushi village.

my wife made reservations for my birthday celebration with my family, which turned out better then i expected. the staff went out of their way and decorated to my surprise the area around our reserved tables - nice touch.
i can say nothing more about the food - it was excellent as usual.

love the customer appreciation. it's conveniently located near my house, and a buddy of mine and i go every friday lunch around 1:30pm.

pros:
-so i'm not sure if most ayce sushi places do this, but a huge bonus for me was the stamp card you get when you go, and after having a few meals (i think 9?) you get a free one.
-the wait has never been bad, actually it's always been great! never more than 10-15 minutes, no matter what size the order is. food tastes great, never had a bad plate (except for squid, but it was my first time trying it, and i'm pretty sure i just don't like squid).
-lunch price per person is $14.99 on fridays, which is pretty good in my books.

cons:
-the selection for lunch sushi is a little small, but they make up for it with a lot of other types of food, especially fried dishes.
-keep track of your order, i've had it happen a couple of times where they bring food that we didn't order to our table, but they were very understanding of it.

all in all,greatplace for an afternoon lunch!

best all u can eat sushi i've had in ottawa. went for lunch,greatquality nice restaurant. go there you'll love it. and please, anyone that says the denny's of sushi is better has no idea what fresh fish should taste like!

i was told the sushi vallege servedgreatfood, so i went to there last night. everything is better that i expected. the sashimi is fresh, and the tempura shrimp is very crisp, and service is five stars! they were very busy last night, but the food were still served fast. i'll go back again definitely.

dislike!!. tried this restaurant this past saturday night and am not a fan...i am a frequent customer of sushi kan and was hoping i had found anothergreatayce sushi restaurant but i'm sorry to say i have not. not sure if it's just that i wasn't used to the layout of the menu but there appear to be a lot of deep fried and tempura rolls, not so many of the other ones (i.e. salmon/avocado, etc.) not sure that i will go back.

very good sushi place. a nice all you can eat sushi buffet in orleans. clean, modern, stylish, withgreatvariety of food! the staffs are friendly, polite, and always with a smile. i have no complain and will definitely go back!

really good sushi - close to home in orleans!. we eat a lot of sushi... about once a week on average - so it'sgreatthat the all-you-can-eat places are popping up closer & closer to home!

we tried the new sushi village in orleans the other night and were both delighted. good quality, tasty rolls & sushi, prompt & courteous service, nice spacious, trendy & clean facility... what more can you ask for? ohyah - samegreatprices as everywhere else, about $14 for lunch and $21 for dinner.

our only minor gripes might not be a consideration for others, but we noticed that the rolls were cut a little large... this could be that the chefs are just getting used to the new gig, but it made for a lot of embarassingly-large bites - or two bites in julie's case!

they also serve "cups" of green tea - so we asked for a pot and did get a thermal carafe. not sure if they're licensed for liquor yet, but the server did not offer.

i found the spider roll less "tasty" than other places, but it was fresh & large (did i mention the rolls are big yet?). the salmon sushi rolls were very crunchy & tasty on the first round, but the second was not as well crafted and had too much tempura crunch - still good nonetheless and likely just some growing pains with consistency.

so, we'll be back there for sushi - for sure, to support our local businesses. sushi village in orleans is a two-thumbs-up affair for us!
