supino’s pizza is legendary. it’s one of those places that everyone talks about, everyone loves, and took me forever to check off my “detroit dining bucket list”. opened in 2008, supino’s swell-regarded for its use of fresh ingredients. it’s located across the street from detroit’s eastern market , detroit’s spacious six-block public market. the restaurant takes advantage of this location and sources many of its ingredients from the stalls in the market, serving delicious pizza made from the best ingredients. the owner, dave mancini, took a trip to supino, italy, his father’s hometown, and fell in love with the pizza. after refining his dough recipe, he decided to open a pizza shop , specializing in italian-style pizza. supino’s menu offers whole pizzas and slices. the restaurant is tiny, with one community table and three smallish tables for dining in. there’s space for sidewalk seating in the summertime, though i visited in the middle of a blizzard. the restaurant’
