sun in my belly

i gave been there many times and i've absolutely loved everything. thefoodis wonderful. the decor is funky. the staff is very friendly.

fantastic little place for a non-traditional breakfast. worth the wait even if you don't have anything to do but sit in your car.

this restaurant is great and getting better. they want to be #1 in the decaturfoodchain. valentines day dinner, a special event on their off day: 2-14-2017: the anticipation was high; the delivery was low. reservations for 1930, on time. they had lots of extras with the fixed meal, with three selections. we had selections from their new list of crafted cocktails. we had the paired wines with our meal. (first class for my sweetheart). the negatives: of the six selections that we had between the two of us; only one was satisfied. the shrimp appetizer was not available, so we opted for the mussels. the scallop salad was not available, and we where offered the salad without scalloped. we suggested that they add seared salmon, which they did. the entrees whete delivered. one was correct and one was a sample of the original, which they obviously had run out of. less than two ounces of brisket is not an entree. after lengthy negotiations a larger, but still unacceptable entree portion was delivered. i gave up. they did give us another beverage; to help us forget the poor service from the kitchen. my bill was over $200 with tip. i left at 2230; three hours after i had arrived. the waite staff apologized frequently. good that i had good company to pass the time. after 36-hours, i was contacted by management and they made things right. they have my confidence ongoing. this is a great restaurant.

note, this is my girlfriends favorite place to eat. thus it got a top score in 2015.

delicious!! my boyfriend and i stumbled across this place one morning and were totally surprised. it was the name of the restaurant that had us interested! but thefoodwas great!!

i ordered the pimento cheese omelette and he had the blt. both came with home fries and i added a biscuit.

i love restaurants that give you the perfect amount of food! this place is a must go brunch spot!! :)

danielle is the best. we have been to sun in my belly twice now. thefoodis excellent coffee is great. tonight our server/waitress was danielle....if thefoodhad been bad..which it wasn't be any means...she would have made up for it. she is the best!!!

great dinner. we went on thursday night and had a great dinner. my partner got the "dinner club" special - 4 delicious courses for $40! betterfoodthan we've paid twice that for. . . i went with the crab cake appetizer, which was enough for a small meal, followed by the wild mushroom ravioli. delish! the service was great, we love the casual gourmet atmosphere, and will definitely be going back for dinner again soon.

yawn.... clearly. living on a past repuation. my son got home from college and we decided to go sun in my belly for brunch we had never been before , thought we would try something new. maybe we had a new waitress, or
saturday morning was a bad time to go. the meal was quite underwhelming . the coffee took too long to get and it was burnt, it had a very smoky flavour . (not good) the meal was cold,and thefoodwas just mediocre i couldn't understand what all the hype was about . we sat at the door near the kitchen and that did not make for a pleasant experience either. needless to say we will not be returning as there are too many other fabulous restaurants in atlanta and its surrounding area to go to and enjoy a meal. "sun in my belly" was a disappointment. :(

don’t we all need more sun in our bellies?. sun in my belly is located in a cool neighborhood location just west of downtown decatur. the setting is fun, the servers are friendly and thefoodis delicious. the salmon entrée was especially wonderful. we were also very favorably with the reasonable prices. i would definitely like to return for their popular breakfasts. i need some more sun in my belly!

boday. i visited there on a sunday for brunch for the first time. i was supposed to be meeting friends, however i was politely stood up. i said all of that to say i decided to sit and eat alone. thefoodwas absolutely great. i just had the 'the kirkwood breakfast' soft creamy cooked eggs, perfectly smoked bacon and a fresh homemade biscuit. even the drinks are in nice sized funky 'jam jars'.

regular brunchers. this is one of our usual places to hit for breakfast/brunch. always awesome food. love the hangover and the pblt. only thing we find is we always have to send back our eggs to get runny eggs. thefoodis awesome and that is the only constructive criticism to give.

i’d always heard that this brunch restaurant in kirkwood, sun in my belly, was very good.  i don’t typically go out for brunch that often, so i’d never been, but it had always sort of been on my radar as a place to try one day.  they recently started offering dinner service, so when i found a great deal to try it, i immediately bought it. the deal was for $50 and you got one bottle of wine, one shared appetizer, two salads, two entrees and one shared dessert.  that’s a lot offoodfor $50!  we made reservations for 8:30 on friday night and headed down to kirkwood, about 15 minutes away, to try it. (you’ll notice that everyone seems to have a bottle of wine on their table.  i think everyone in the restaurant had the deal too.)  the outside was cute, but it was full so we sat inside where the ambiance was sort of lacking.  it was very much like a bakery with some tables, but i guess that’s what it used to be.  they are also known for their ca

food is good. but, the chairs and the tables are so uncomfortable that's not worth it! it really hurts to seat and eat.

food is good. when they have lots of prople, service can be slow from getting somebody to serve you to getting yourfood(especially, getting your food). the tables and chairs are very, very uncomfortable. you can't put your legs under the table because the table legs block everything. the chairs are very small. sometimes i want to go to sun in my belly and i remember the chairs and how uncomfortable they are and i choose another place to eat.

greatfoodbut the service has gone downhill over the past few months .... got here at 1130 and didn't getfoodtill 130 for a party of 3.....

one of the best brunches in atlanta:). this place is so very cool and laid back...downhome atmosphere...thefoodis delicious! (the bacon here is absolutely addictive)...and the servers are quite good-looking...the overall experience here is positive in all aspects...

surprise. great restaurant! a little out of the way, and a drive from the city, but absolutely worth it. customer service and atmosphere were great! i didn't expect a lot from the area it was in, but it absolutely delivered. the interior was cozy and comfy, the staff were helpful and thefoodwas delicious! will visit again - hopefully soon!
