sun in my belly

i gave been there many times and i've absolutely loved everything. the food is wonderful. the decor is funky. the staff is very friendly.

amazing but.... amazing food, really good! but could use some sprucing up, and questionable cleanliness, especially the bathroom. really ruined the end of my meal. that was 5 months ago and i still remember the bathroom!!

fantastic little place for a non-traditional breakfast. worth the wait even if you don't have anything to do but sit in your car.

this restaurant is great and getting better. they want to be #1 in the decatur food chain. valentines day dinner, a special event on their off day: 2-14-2017: the anticipation was high; the delivery was low. reservations for 1930, on time. they had lots of extras with the fixed meal, with three selections. we had selections from their new list of crafted cocktails. we had the paired wines with our meal. (first class for my sweetheart). the negatives: of the six selections that we had between the two of us; only one was satisfied. the shrimp appetizer was not available, so we opted for the mussels. the scallop salad was not available, and we where offered the salad without scalloped. we suggested that they add seared salmon, which they did. the entrees whete delivered. one was correct and one was a sample of the original, which they obviously had run out of. less than two ounces of brisket is not an entree. after lengthy negotiations a larger, but still unacceptable entree portion was delivered. i gave up. they did give us another beverage; to help us forget the poor service from the kitchen. my bill was over $200 with tip. i left at 2230; three hours after i had arrived. the waite staff apologized frequently. good that i had good company to pass the time. after 36-hours, i was contacted by management and they made things right. they have my confidence ongoing. this is a great restaurant.

note, this is my girlfriends favorite place to eat. thus it got a top score in 2015.

delicious!! my boyfriend and i stumbled across this place one morning and were totally surprised. it was the name of the restaurant that had us interested! but the food was great!!

i ordered the pimento cheese omelette and he had the blt. both came with home fries and i added a biscuit.

i love restaurants that give you the perfect amount of food! this place is a must go brunch spot!! :)

the benedict is awesome! such a cute place too! the panini looked pretty good too. only complaint was that it was pretty warm. yummy though!

danielle is the best. we have been to sun in my belly twice now. the food is excellent coffee is great. tonight our server/waitress was danielle....if the food had been bad..which it wasn't be any means...she would have made up for it. she is the best!!!

great dinner. we went on thursday night and had a great dinner. my partner got the "dinner club" special - 4 delicious courses for $40! better food than we've paid twice that for. . . i went with the crab cake appetizer, which was enough for a small meal, followed by the wild mushroom ravioli. delish! the service was great, we love the casual gourmet atmosphere, and will definitely be going back for dinner again soon.

the way breakfast was meant to be.. sun in my belly is amazing. my wife and i were visiting atlanta for an event and on our way out we stopped here for brunch. being from near asheville, nc we are use to top upper tear restaurants and fabulous meals and s.i.m.b. did not disappoint. there was a nice atmosphere and the waiter was very pleasant. they offer common dishes but with great unique twists as well as divine original plates that make you want to come back to town just to go there. that said, i think that there's something there for the adventurous and non adventurous alike. for the two of us, having waters and one coffee, it was $25 before tip. this might seem a little high to some people for brunch but the quality was worth every cent, and we had some left overs too!

this place is fantastic. cozy environment, very good prices for such exceptional food. my husband and i were shocked by how low the price was when we got the bill --- for $70 we had a bottle of wine, an appetizer, two amazing entrees (something you would play $25 a plate for somewhere else), and desert. will absolutely be going back

yawn.... clearly. living on a past repuation. my son got home from college and we decided to go sun in my belly for brunch we had never been before , thought we would try something new. maybe we had a new waitress, or
saturday morning was a bad time to go. the meal was quite underwhelming . the coffee took too long to get and it was burnt, it had a very smoky flavour . (not good) the meal was cold,and the food was just mediocre i couldn't understand what all the hype was about . we sat at the door near the kitchen and that did not make for a pleasant experience either. needless to say we will not be returning as there are too many other fabulous restaurants in atlanta and its surrounding area to go to and enjoy a meal. "sun in my belly" was a disappointment. :(

food lover. had dinner there about three months ago and ordered the fried chicken and my neighbor had the short rib unfortunately that seemed to be the wrong choices. the chicken tasted like it was cooked the day before and the short rib was very tough and chewy. i recently gave them another try because i was told some of the kitchen staff has been replaced. i had the exact same items and it was the best i have experienced in a very long time. what ever changes were made have renewed my relationship with sun in my belly.

poor service. i used sun in my belly catering for an important event last week. i am very disappointed to say the least. the staff arrived late and was still setting up when my guests arrived. i learned that the owner told them to scratch out the 6:30 arrival time as stated in the contract and arrive at 7:30 for an 8 am event. in addition to their late arrival, they did not bring the equipment as stated or provide the service as discussed. half of the burners they brought were not functional and their staff did not buss tables or refill coffee as they were supposed to.

i have left several messages for the owner who will not call me back. one of his assistants offered a paltry 5% credit towards a future event. i had already paid in full before the event and feel that i did not receive the service that was promised. i am very disappointed as they provide excellent food, but cannot trust them for a future event.

yummy in my tummy. great food, reasonable price. i loved the coffee. i had the famous fried egg, pimento and cheese sandwich. i think if i went back i would leave off the fried egg. it was wonderful, and huge. i think its the only meal i had the entire day. the potatoes were under cooked but was packed with flavor.

i couldn’t decide what i wanted, so i asked for a recommendation between my three choices (fried chicken, shrimp and grits and the burger – they came back from our server in the exact opposite order). she loved their burgers, so i went with the burger. my beloved ordered the vegetable plate, which looked like an artist’s palette when it arrived.
