even tho the views from this restaurant are amazing they are still not enough to save the below average tasting food.
i wont go on to much about the bland food. but had a really good dessert selection and really well set out like a lolly shop and having cold stone mixed ice cream was the winner here. staff were very attentive and friendly.

had dinner there while in queenstown. food was average no great choices been to better buffet dinners. food did not have much flavour and even the bread was really hard (looked like it has been sitting there for days). good choice of drinks not overly prices. paying for window seat plus drink does not make any difference as all tables look to the windows. (but maybe good option during busiest time in the season)  
oversall really disapointed with food.

went here as part of luge gondola and dinner combo. the view us amazing! dinner was fab to. so much to choose from - most than likely to over indulge. generous selection of meats and sides (chicken, beef, lamb, roast veges, carrots salads etc). definelty recommend for lunch or dinner even just for the view :)

have nothing bad to say about this buffet/restaurant. food was good, cocktail was on point. would’ve given a 5 star, just found it hard trying to talk to co, but completely understand it was busy. just glad we got a table.

stratosphere was a very lovely lunch! it is a buffet lunch with various options as per photos. the food was well cooked. the staff were very polite and quick to clear the tables which enabled us to get new plates with food on them. the roast chicken and roasted veggies were my favorite out of the buffet so so so delicious! we grabbed a drink afterwards and sat outside and enjoyed the view and sun, stunning views! i got a deal of juicy dining deals which was two lunches for $116. i would say worth the money to go here, get a gondola ride up and down and intake the beautiful views! go very hungry and on a sunny day!

best restaurant i have been to in rotorua. the buffet to be honest was not bad.

not all the dishes were great, but one that stood out was the beef... simply amazing! melts in your mouth like $200 wagyu.

buffet was only $69pp. making this the best monies worth restaurant in rotorua, and possible in new zealand. i live in auckland, if stratosphere is available there i will dine with on all occasions!

please come up to auckland!!! langham eight, angus steakhouse are nowhere near as good as this.

i was quite surprised with the variety of food available at the buffet. it has so many different options and yet most them were delicious. i had very low expectation on beef steak but it turned out to be amazing. this chef continuously cooks steak to refill the iron plates. he does this job perfectly! he was actually putting his effort to cook it nicely. steak was delicious! perfectly cooked! tender although it was just rump steak. i had so many prawns i cannot even count. i also had pasta, salad, japenese curry, soup etc

dessert part was not particularly my type so i skipped on dessert but there were many different flavours of ice cream, fruit, chocolate mouses, etc.

the price was $57 including gondola and i visited at lunch time. i wish this place was in auckland too so i can go more often. i will definitely go again every time i go to rotorua.

this place was terrible. the view is lovely but the food is near inedible. we paid $95 per person for the gondola and dinner. we booked the 8pm slot which might have had something to do with most of the food being cold and stale. still i don't feel like that's an excuse, if you're going to have an 8pm option you should make sure the food is still fresh and hot by then. if i'd paid $95 for a meal at any other restaurant and been given food like this i would have demanded a refund. there was also a private function going on upstairs with very loud thumping music which ruined what could have been the silver lining of having a gorgeous view with nice ambiance, but i can't even say that was good. the one thing that's a credit to this place is the wait staff. they were lovely and quick to clear away plates. that being said the people serving roast didn't listen when i asked for only two slices of meat and weren't very friendly at all. so as much as i hate giving a place such a low rating there isn't really anything that makes it worth rating any higher.

restaurant is spacious and has got fancy and modern looking ambience. it can accommodate and cater to large no of dinners at one time.

a great place for elite and fine dining experience with great touch or blend of good nz cuisine.

went for lunch and both food and service was spontaneous, sumptuous, simply superb.

they serve great quality of food and some of the good picks from nz foods and wines.

it does have a bar, cafe and ice cream or dessert parlor separately, which a great added feature for tourist availing the gondola and lugging facilities.

always enjoy coming here, staff are friendly, heaps of variety. the seafood chowder is probably my favourite 😍 does get really busy and can mean waiting in a long line to get along the buffet which is probably the only downfall especially when you have kids w you. will deff be back 😊

am a local and been here often over  many years. used to be excellent, sadly no more.  aimed at the asian market. choice of food and the quality is now very poor. went recently and both the pork and sliced beef were  so tough i couldn't even cut them with my knife let alone chew them. lack of veges.  what a waste of a fantastic site with such a sub standard restaurant.   will now stick to the ordinary cafe next door at a fraction of the price... cheaper food but still that amazing view.

met by friendly staff,we were lead to the buffet and explained that we can order like mussel pots. staff were great throughout the night,even taking photos for us and moving us to a better lighting area to take the photos

i think it's easier to say,if i went back what would i get again

yes:
seafood chowder: lots of seafood and a little bit too cheesy but i could just have this all night and be happy

freshly made pancakes,so nice even without adding anything to it

pork: it's the light mustard sauce that makes this good

potato and kumara: just yum!

the multi coloured dessert,don't know what it is but had lime green on top,it was a lot better than i expected

all the different fishes available were good

undecided: the lamb chops,they were ok but weren't that warm

the various noodles they have,chicken kebab stick

the stuff that came from a can (vine leaves) or from a asian grocery store (the chinese dumplings) and the sushi (way too much rice in each piece)

the chocolate mousse was too sweet

the lamington you can get anywhere

the roast chicken,though i liked the crispy skin of the chicken i felt like i could eat this anywhere

the mussel pots are a no! one was tasteless and the other tasted funny


still it's one of the best buffets i've had

restaurants ambience and location is immaculate, gives an aesthetic view of the entire rotorua city.

dining for ambience is good however food quality, choices and display has moderate.

our first time there. such a beautiful place to dine . food are so delicious and the best of the best is the location and the staff members are so friendly and helpful. they all beautiful people working together to run and keep the business going. well done guys. special thanks to the manager in charge the saturday night for offering us a birthday cake and a card . omg these are the real business people. thank you so so much for your great hospitality. well done and keep it up. people if you travel to rotorua for anything dnt forget to go there. such a beautiful place to celebrate your birthday or hang out with friends and families. the food are so delicious and fresh . place is beautiful and clean. best of the best.

this place was lovely! the food was delicious, and the dessert was the best part. dining with such a beautiful view, definitely recommend!
